Re: NRC is now Mention Only
Just wondering, but is this Series still gonna use the ARLA based twin-race format? Because with the amount of entries there are to this series then I really do think there should be unless they haven't been painted yet.

Re: NRC is now Mention Only
Just gonna update this.
I'm working on the Daytona race right now. Getting used to Sony Vegas, it's alot easier to work with then I originally thought it would be, but I'm still getting used to it, so sorry for taking so long!

Re: NRC is now Mention Only
- Spoiler:
- Farr: It was amateur hour out there!
Alexis Farr: We got caught up in a couple of newbies bad decisions. I think if the officials had tried to balance out the races and put a couple of veterans such as Gary (Edwards) and Colin (Evans) the race could have been cleaner. But alas it wasn't and the lack of drivers knowing how to race int he draft bit us.
- Spoiler:
- Meet Vinny Tortilinni
Many people around the garage were asking themselves who is this Italian with a German accent. Well lets have Kluas....errr...Vinny explain "When I was 19 I worked at a garage in the Bronx, and one of my fellow mechanics owned a street stock team he raced all along Long Island with. I had been watching Master cup a lot and had become a big Leonid Roderick fan. I said yes, but my parents balked at the idea. being stubborn as any 19 year old would be, I just simply ran under an alias. I chose the Italian sounding name cause there were several Italian American drivers on Long Island, especially at Nassau County Raceway. Unfortunately i learned quickly that winners had to give interviews to a local news crew. And worse yet, it was the one my parents watched. I normally interviewed with my helmet on, but I after I became 21, I finally admitted what i did every Saturday night. It should be noted that Klaus' parents defected from East Germany in 1974, and that his father was Olympic weightlifter Manfried Warner

- Spoiler:
- Owner, Team proud of performance despite incidents
"We came very strong at Daytona. Obviously the incident bringing the 2nd caution pretty much ruined any chance of all three cars in the top 10, but To have all three in Twin 1 and have all three performing strong was a good indicator of what we've got going for our program. Great way to start the year"
Re: NRC is now Mention Only
- Spoiler:
- Tire Issue Spoils Good Run for Whitt
Alex Whitt competed in the second twin 250 RROL race, and while the end result is disappointing AWR can take some comfort in the fact they were near the front.
"Everybody's been saying this car is underpowered, that it can't compete with the Lycoias and the Omechas," said Whitt post race. "But we managed to get to the front. All it took was patience and just driving smart, we knew that going in and we put it to practice quite well. If we hadn't had a tire issue after that last restart we could have had a top ten finish."
AWR, with only 7 full time employees, is new to major league stock car racing, having mostly competed on short ovals in the Carolinas and Virginia. But with support from the Tuttle factory and conservative driving, they'll look to run well again, hopefully with better luck.

- Spoiler:
- Giuseppe Marchetti's victory in Ohio gives Rossini Sport maiden US victory
Giuseppe Marchetti took victory out at Ohio, after mechanical failures blighted the race of Gregorie O'Malley, who had led every lap of the race up until his retirement. Despite a less than dominant display, Marchetti appeared highly pleased with himself. "I am a god," claimed the 23-year old Italian, "to both my country and, especially, to woman. No other driver is like me."
Marchetti is expected to be met with much criticism from both fans and drivers of the RROL after his post race comments.

Farr: We tried, but wreck didn't help us.
Alexis: those three stooges just went at each other to early into the race and we couldn't do anything other then plow in. it hampered the car the rest of the way and we just brought her home.
Vinny: Just happy to make it this far
Vinny: I had some issues with the car in Qualifying, glad we could make it up in the race. I'm just happy we've been doing so well.

- Rogers notches another top 10, Smith-Thompson struggles
(Driver comments only: didn't feel like doing a whole write-up.)
Rogers: They're gonna have to start calling me Miss Top 10. It's what I do. (laughs) No, seriously though, I thought we'd have issues after that incident with Mayland. I don't know what he was thinking, trying to dive down like that. Thankfully it didn't matter, and we got another good finish out of it.
Smith-Thompson: How 'bout that. Car was crap. Couldn't go forward - no grip. Happy for Kellan, though. Nice job by her. Glad you got to talk to me.

Re: NRC is now Mention Only
(Didnt even know my team was still running, but we are and we are doing very well)
James Proctor on Daytona incident: We had a fast Saar Eagle, the boys back at James Proctor Racing built me and my teammates fast cars but we got in some trouble in the race that damaged us pretty bad but we were still out there riding around for points. With all the competitive teams and drivers in the series we cant afford to just park the car and be in a whole after the first race, but we are anyone because of penalty and im not really sure why i got it. I was running in the high line coming to the white flag and the leader i guess tried to get some draft from my car to stay out front of the pack but when the leader tried to pull down from behind my car they missed judge it and made contact so im not sure how or why thats my fault but we will take the blame and move on.
Im just so proud of everyone back at JPR we have been working hard the last few years to try to be a power house team like the watts motorsports and Greg Johnson Racing's and I think we have to come to Daytona with that kinda speed is just awesome, then to back up the run and get 2 second place finishes at Ohio just shows the strength of our team. I see no reason why we cant contend for the championship with at least two of our cars.

- Mixed results for CJR
"This track is abit of an unknown for all my drivers so this was definately a abit of a learning curve for them. Wagner had a strong car, but she just couldn't get the handle on it for the rest of the race so we're grateful for the top 10 achieved. Buetch has been struggling all weekend and the early pit stop was not really helping. He reported feeling a tire going down and pulled in immediately, though collected another car in the process. I'm very proud of Matt though. He didn't qualify in Twin 1, but he's so far a different driver then I saw last season and this top 5 is looking really good for him. He keeps that consistancy up and gains abit more speed, he can be a regular in the Twin 1 races"

Got it. You need to put column headings on the sheet before you can sort - at least the way you're doing it.Rykia_RKXK wrote:RyanB06 wrote:Rykia_RKXK wrote:Points are up, however they're not in order. I'm trying to resolve this, but right now, I'm not sure how.

I contradicted myself by saying Marchetti continued after his wreck when just a few seconds before I said he climbed out of the car okay...whoops. Also, I have no idea why the Collin Evans incident in twin 2 brought out a caution.

Jonathan Wins at Tampa
Scott Jonathan scored his first RROL Elite Series victory in his third start at the Tampa International Speedway. Jonathan was ecstatic about his victory
"I'll always remember this day. Its a great feeling. I have to thank Peter Dennis for believing in me. I can't believe. I'm stoked right now. It's the first of many for me and this team."
Re: NRC is now Mention Only
- Spoiler:
- CTR "Evaluating Options" for 2013
On the heels of another bad run, Team CTR officials have disclosed that at the 1/4 mark of the season, they are evaluating all options for the 2013 season. The team is reportedly dissatisfied with the finishes both drivers have been getting; however, Jess Zander has shown promise in her Dash Cup start at Spa. This has lead to rumors of the team forming a Dash Cup effort, which may impact the team's RROL plans in 2013.
"Nothing's set in stone right now," stated President Tom Bennett. "Henrietta [LaVerne] and Jess [Zander] are both doing well; the issue is more getting caught in bad incidents because we don't qualify well. Our Dash Cup debut went well before Patrick Arcenau took out Joe Olenick. We don't want to abandon the RROL, but we may shuffle some drivers around."
Interestingly, the rumors have included an expansion to three-car team in 2013, so it appears for the time being Team CTR is not going anywhere.
Zander "Frustrated" With Tampa Incidents
Jess Zander was reportedly very unhappy with the incidents that led to her exit from the round of Tampa.
"It's really frustrating. Everyone was being aggressive, which I understand, but flipping on your roof coming back to a caution is ridiculous. Of course, we wouldn't have been in that position if we weren't forced down pit road earlier in the race."
"Also, I want to apologize to the 69 team. I tried holding the bottom line but there's just no grip there. I take full responsibility for that."

Owner Camyron Jackson, on Matt Shimoda: "For T1, the cars qualified well but luck hasn't been the easiest thing to come by. While I'm glad to see Matt being abit more aggressive, I'm not so sure I'm content with THAT much aggression. I'd like to extend my apoligies out to the cars that might have been taken out by him, he needs to learn to race more without putting a fender to everyone in sight.
On Wagner: "She just had abit of a rough day. Had a decent run going until the three car pile-up. Alot of unnecessary aggression out there and unfortunately she got caught up in some of it.
On Mayland: "I'm very happy for him, this is a perfect example of keeping out of trouble as much as possible and being there to take advantage when things go hectic. He even got a good enough start to keep himself out of trouble. Great performance."
Buetch on maiden win in T2: "That was a crazy race. People were just ramming people off the track into pit road and I managed to barely sqeeze by a few of those incidents. I just tryed to keep the car in one piece and just keep it there for the finish and it worked out perfect for me. I knew if I got a good restart, I'd be out of the mess and sure enough, someone got dumped and I was far enough head. I'm so stoked right now, want to thank everyone on the team. I want to thank Camyron for giving me the opportunity, he's been telling us we can do it and we finally got one for him."

- Spoiler:
- "Hill should have gotten out of the way!"
Those were the words uttered out of Gerald Johnson's mouth during a post race interview. "Hill should have gotten out of the way! He may be a lap down, but he was slower and holding up many cars. If it wasnt me it would have been someone else." Johnson is now on a three week probabtion for the incident.

Foyter is happy after a top 10. Barnes left the track without talking to reporters.

Anyone else thrown off by the results? After I watched the video, I go to the results 1 link, only to find out its results from twins 2 while the Results 2 is actually results from Twins 1. Was that supposed to happen?

May do text reviews for a few events so I can get through season quicker. I won't have much access to NR until I get my laptop in a couple weeks, so that affected my decision. My goal is to have a text review of Round 5 up tonight.

Re: NRC is now Mention Only
Made a new RROL Intro here. I'll be using this for the intro on the videos from now on. Now, onto the review...
RROL Elite Series Round 05/12 (Martinsville 150)
Twin 1
Collin Evans and Gary Edwards, both former Master Cup drivers, started on the front row.
Tommy Roberts, making his debut qualified in the top ten and by lap seven had moved into fourth.
Gregorie O'Malley about took out points leader Nick Azure early on off of two, but they both saved it. They were running in the final two positions on the track...
Gary Edwards and Alexander Sybilton were having an intense battle for second, trading it back and forth about every other lap for a while, but letting Evans pull away.
The first caution came out when Ryan Wade bounced off of the wall out of two and Scott Jonathan caught him in the left rear and turned him into the inside wall. He bounced back up right into the path of Ryan Gregory and points leader Nick Azure. Louis Jones also got caught up in it.
Everyone would pit, and Alexander Sybilton beat Evans and Edwards out.
On the restart, something happened to last week's twin two winner Porter House, and he held up about half of the field before diving into pit road. He almost took Jacob Mac out diving into the pits. When he came back out, he would play the annoying backmarker role, and hold up may drivers. He caused Collin Evans to lose a good 3/4 seconds on the top two, cost Tommy Roberts a top five, and Iris Mellado lost at least a second on the cars ahead of her because of the 16.
Wade Richson blows up, and Gregorie O'Malley turns him into the garage area opening off of two. No caution.
The top three pulled a huge lead and it was just Sybilton, Edwards, and Evans.
Jonathan blew up from 21st and stalled, but for some reason this didn't bring out a caution.
Bradley Carlisle pit from a top 10 spot with one lap to go.
Alexander Sybilton led from the restart to the checkered, with Edwards and Evans close behind.
I missed John Halks blowing up from 5th, not sure when it happened...
Twin 1 Results
Twin 2
JPR led the field to the green with Proctor and Forester on the front row.
The 09 was holding up quite a few drivers, like Sarah Xavier, Allison Miller, and Allison Wilson.
On lap ten, Alexis Farr took the lead.
Rusty Barnes and Buetch Mayland turned eachother into the inside wall. No caution. This would make the 09 even slower, and he now held up the 25, 31, and 06. The 111 and 79 had gotten around.
Forester and Proctor had begun to fade, but were still in the top five, respectively. Kellan Rogers had moved into second.
Kendall Worthington ran over Dan Foray in 1 and 2 and sent the 222 spinning, for whatever reason this didn't bring out a caution.
Pit Stops: Lap 38 - 09, 18. Lap 48 - 11. Lap 49 - Most of the leaders except for a few. Lap 50 - The rest. Kellan Rogers almost beat Farr out, but Farr pulled out right in front of her, and she had to stomp on the brakes, and actually lost time.
The same issue between the 7 and 222 occurred with Allison Wilson turning Scott Washington. Again, no caution...
No one could catch Alexis Farr, and she won, dominating.

Re: NRC is now Mention Only
Alexander Sybilton: that was incredible out there. I feel great. That Edwards bloke won in the Master Cup series so it's amazing to beat him. A tough race, and I'm sore from it, this short track racing is tough stuff.
Ulysses van der Wittenberg, the eccentric native of Vaduz, Lietchenstein, released a statement that seemed to vaguely indicate he would enter the RROL during the prestigious race at Clairmont. He said: Staring across the vast chasm of the hydrogen-deux-oxygen with the Atlantique guise and nomenclature lies the Are Are Oh Elle. A fine series of the sport of the motor. I shall endevour to cross the pond, landing at a location yet to be determined; it may be Salem, or Annapolis, or Charleston, or Daytona. I shall traverse immense spaces of water and land. I will venture to the forests, fields, and mountains of the Canada. O good sir! Show me the way to the Mont of the Clair! Alas, I shall soon depart!
EDIT:
Some new information has appeared about van der Wittenberg. He opened a small race shop owned by "The Racing Team of the Deposition of the Robe in the Grand Duchy of Lietchenstein". It appears that Ulysses, if that really is his name, has purchased an RROL car from an unnamed source. It appears, based on the graphics, to be a former R3, Incorporated Gasnier Dragoon, but these are unconfirmed reports. Ulysses reportedly traveled the world last year to "find his Cungegonde" a referance to Voltaire's literary classic Candide. He released a statement last year saying that he "traversed millions of smoots of immense spaces of earth and terrain. I visited the square of the color red; I set eyes on the glaciers of patagonia. I have found a lover, and now intend to make my racing return in America." He reportedly said to Harald Hollenzoren, a friend, that he would test at the Waltham Motorsports Park within two months but the specific date of his test was "not really clear, because it is Ulysses were talking about here."

RROL Officials Announce No One-Offs Allowed at Clairmont
Many have been waiting in anticipation for the RROL Round of Clairmont hoping for a one off appearance. However, to their disappointment, RROL Elite Series officials announced that the league would not be accepting one-offs for the famed Round of Clairmont. Officials stated their reasoning for this was that the car count was high enough anyways, that they didn't need the hastle of possibly up to one hundred cars attempting a race, in their first season under this ownership. They continued by stating they would try it in 2013 in one or two events.
(OOC: This is because I don't have time this season to wait for cars to get painted, do qualifiers, etc...)
Wilhelm to drive for M&D Motorsports in 2013
It had been rumored, however many were uncertain of the truth of the rumors. However, it has been confirmed that Jeremy Wilhelm would go to drive for M&D Motorsports for 2013. Details haven't been ironed out yet and it's unknown if Michael More, Jr. or Ryan Gregory will be back.
Smaller Field Sizes for 2013?
Reports are that the RROL Elite Series will feature a smaller, single-twin field next season, ranging from 20-26 cars per race, excluding the one-off events. Series officials announced that part time slots will be open for teams that do not return full time.

Re: NRC is now Mention Only
- Spoiler:
- Delgado Bemoans Cardillo's Bad Luck, Vows Changes
Over the past few weeks, the former MRD Motorsports, now called Tom Delgado Racing...has not had much to smile about. They didn't get anything new to smile about today at Milwaukee, as Marco Cardillo had to pit with 3 laps to go and fell out of the top 10. Afterwards, Tom Delgado bemoaned his driver's constant bad luck and vowed to make wholesale changes within the organization to try and change the #77 team's fortunes.
"We've had a rough few weeks, and this isn't helping us. Sponsors are leaving us and it's no fault of Marco's. We need to right the ship and fast, and I promise everyone associated with Tom Delgado Racing that we will find a way to turn this thing around and start finishing off these good runs we've had" Delgado said on behalf of his driver, who refused to talk to anyone after the race.
