Because we might as well make one.

Anyone else see fencing just now? Maybe I'm biased, but how about Elisa Di Francesca making that incredible 6-or-so-touch rally? Surprised Very Happy

Wow that opening ceremony sucked. I was out of town and saw it later. Massive disappointment. Although the Bond part was cool.

I actually liked the opening ceremony. It was no Bejing but it was funny. Anyone know if Track Cycling is covered by NBC? (AKA Nascar with Bikes)

The healthcare and nighmares part was worse than the rest of it, which was bad enough.

However, the diving and swimming events were great today.

France leads 65-62, Australia scores a half-court buzzer beater.

EDIT:

Did the person that worked on the "London 2102" vinyl dyslexic? It's probably a typo otherwise...or trolling. I actually didn't get what the mistake was at first until I looked a little harder.

But if you read it upside down, it will read "2012 uopuo7." That won't work out well. Razz

I've always thought so, too. But it would most likely be problematic, considering there would probably be a whole kerfuffle about which TYPE of motorsport should be represented.

I was thinking that if it did happen, they could do Time Trial stages to see who goes fastest and onwards. It sounds like a good plan, but I think the Olympics have enough sports to do tbh.

I forgot ROC until you mentioned it. Anyway, yeah they should have that inside the Olympic Stadium, do that before the Athletic Events take place there.

Can't do that, they'll have to hold in another venue, probably at a racetrack itself, for example, in 2016 the Olympics are in Brazil, so hold the ROC at Interlagos. The reason they can't do that is the fact that it takes a long time to prepare the Olympic Stadium for competition after the Opening ceremony. That's why Track and Field is always in the 2nd week.

Hmmm I see, I don't even know how doing ROC and Track/Field events in the 2nd week would work out.

NBC's been doing that for a long time, so I've gotten used to it. Even when they did this for Vancouver, it's their modus operandi when it comes to the Olympics.

Four US athletes to be on the lookout for:

1.) Terrence Trammell, fantastic sprinter and former USC Gamecock. Not sure which event he's in or if he's already run, but an amazing athlete.

2.) Jason Richardson, another former Gamecock who was a 6 or 7 time All American and a National Champion in the hurdles. His senior year at USC was my freshman year, I'm fortunate to have had some interactions with the guy. He'll compete in the 110m High Hurdles tomorrow.

3.) Brad Walker, pole vaulter from the University of Washington. Has been pro since the mid 2000's, American champion and I think won an outdoor World Championship. Probably the best vaulter on the American squad

4.) Toby Stevenson, pole vaulter from Odessa, TX. Has a personal best of over 6 meters, wears a helmet and usually celebrates after clearing a crossbar. For a while held the short peg world record. This might be his last Olympics, he competed in Athens in 2004 but I'm not sure if he made the team in 2008.

The Argentina player who punched Carmelo Anthony in the stomach at the end of the third quarter in their pool play game is the loser of the Olympics so far. I mean seriously, your team is getting blown out, and you resort to something like that? Fail

If you're gonna do crap like that, you need to stay at home, and refrain from coaching little league baseball.

Wow. Did anyone see the women's soccer semi-final between Canada and the U.S.? Canada took the lead three different times, but the U.S. came back all three times, and in the final minute of of the second overtime, when it looked like it was going to penalty kicks, Alex Morgan heads one in, and the U.S. are going to the gold medal final to face Japan in a World Cup rematch from last year.

Unreal.

Also, Cyprus just won their first ever Olympic medal.

Steve Hooker won gold last time around for Australia in the pole vault, will be interesting to see if he's up to the task again this year.

As for the women's pole vault, yelenaisebayevawinslol.
Steve Hooker's done complete horse $hit all year, several times he's failed to clear the bar, I'll be surprised if he gets a medal.

I'm going with Toby Stevenson then, if anything just to see him do some wacky air hump victory celebration at the Olympics.

Wow. Did anyone see the men's gymnastics high bar final? Absolutely... insane. The Dutch gymnast who won, which was the Netherlands first ever medal in men's gymnastics, did three flipping elements... one after the other, and stuck the dismount. Unreal. Shocked Shocked Shocked

He definitely deserved the gold after that performance.
