Scott Hamilton Killed in Crash
TM Master Cup Series drivers have always been prepared to pay the ultimate price every time they climb into their cars every race weekend. During this weekend's Round of Brazil, Scott Hamilton, 29, paid that price on the 32nd lap of the race after he was collected in a massive crash in the third turn. Hamilton was killed when the roof collapsed after striking Avery Holtzmann's airborne car.
He was not pronounced dead until after the race had run to its conclusion.

- Spoiler:
- Condolences From The #2 Team:
Following the announcement of Scott Hamilton's death, Duff and the Volpi #2 crew were quick to issue a statement regarding this tragic time.
"Nobody would have ever expected a great guy like Scott to pass as quickly and as unexpectedly as he did. He was always a joy to have around in the garage area, always so full of life and was a fierce competitor both on and off the track. One of the greatest things I'll remember about my career was the battle Scott and I had at Salem back in 2009 when I picked up my first ever TM Master Cup win. Times like these make you wonder why you would ever want to step into a racecar. However, Scott left this world doing something that he absolutely loved to the very end and when you crave this sport as much as we do, that's the way he would've wanted to go. Rest In Peace, Scott, we'll miss you."

- Delgado's Thoughts to Hamilton's Family After Tragedy in Brazil
Refusing to speak about his team's elimination from the championship picture, Tom Delgado spoke instead of Scott Hamilton, who was tragically killed in an accident in the Round of Brazil. Scott Hamilton was 29 years old.
"Scott was one hell of a competitor. One of the good guys in the garage. I have nothing but kind words to say about that man, and it's a damn shame that we lost him today. On behalf of the #837 Star Nemoto Racing team, and MRD Motorsports, my thoughts and prayers go out to Scott's family and friends, who have to be utterly devastated beyond words. Rest In Peace, brother. We're all gonna miss you around here" Delgado said as he teared up.

Devereux Hits Out at Series Officials
Even before the terrible news of Scott Hamilton's passing swept through the TM Master Cup Series paddock, Frenchman Adrien Devereux was upset with TM Master Cup Series officials over the decision to restart the race.
"The track has just proven itself to be too unsafe for racing. [The stewards] are just hoping nobody was hurt so they can use that crash on highlight reels. That is the only reason we come to a track like this, for stupid crashes that cheapen what the series really should be about." he said.
"Hamilton's car had the roof and windshield cave in, there is very little he or Xenos could have done to make the car safer. But the series stewards need to consider not coming back to tracks like this with cars like this that encourage pack racing and Daytona otherwise these crashes will happen again and more people will be killed. Why the stewards did not learn from Daytona I do not know, because maybe they could have done something to break up the packs and make the race much less dangerous."
The 2012 TM Master Cup Series technical regulations already include a more durable windshield after the near-tragedy at Daytona. Despite the high number of injuries in the 2011 TM Master Cup Series season, Devereux stated that he was not concerned about safety on road courses, particularly the Decatur Raceway.
"Motor racing is not safe, I understand that. But the officials should not encourage unsafe racing like what we saw that night." Devereux added.
"Whenever you have huge banked tracks that encourage pack racing like that, inevitably someone will make a stupid move and it will end in disaster."

- Spoiler:
- Taylor Stunned at Hamilton's Death
Cameron Taylor received the bad news about Mr. Hamilton while at Rockford preparing for his heat race. He said of Hamilton: "Scott was a great man and a great racer. Off the track he was a friend to all, truly one of the good guys of the garage. On the track he was so talented. He had that rare gift behind the wheel." He was critical of the safety features at the Autodromo Daniel Esteveem saying "that place has had safety issues from the beginning. Rachel Rainsford, Chris Johaanes, and Fred Klein all had bad wrecks there. They need to make some changes"

(OOC: This wreck is similar to Daytona in the sense that Cy made a crash worse than it actually looked. Watts' wreck was UNDER the cockpit, not directly into it and Hamilton hit head-on, not in the windshield. I personally thought Holtzmann, Donzelo or Bouvier might have been hurt, but not dead. I didn't even think of Hamilton being injured.)

PSI Reports Plissken Death Threats
If you've noticed the heightened security details around the PSI garage following the Round of Brazil this week, it's because Kurt Plissken has apparently been receiving some death threats concerning the recent death of 29 year old Scott Hamilton.
Plissken has remained silent as to his thoughts about what transpired on the track on lap 32 of the race that was marred with tragedy. The only quote from Plissken on the matter of his involvement came shortly after the conclusion of the race in which Plissken stated ambiguously, "What happened is well documented on the film." It is unknown what Plissken meant, if anything, by that statement.
Evidently Plissken was forced to reveal the threats on his life his team owner William Power who in turn apprised the proper authorities of the situation. An investigation into the matter has been launched. Death threats are nothing new to Plissken as both former teammates and girlfriends have threatened to kill him in the past, sometimes more than once.

Billy Fortner: If anyone gets near Plissken for what took place at Brazil, revenge will be sought
Ex-Fortner driver, Billy Fortner, caught wind of death threats against Kurt Plissken following the Round of Brazil that was marred with tragedy. The threats angered the former Fortner co-owner and driver. Fortner offers his thoughts:
"I have a lot of respect for Kurt, Will Power, and the entire PSI team. But this is really getting out of hand. I can't really find any fault of Kurt. Besides, you can't sue him for vehicular homicide on a professional motor racing course. You can't. This is just insane. There isn't enough proof to validate that Kurt had any involvement in the tragedy. Add on top of this the various people threatening to kill him for what happened to Scott Hamilton, and this just makes my blood run cold. If anyone with little or no knowledge of this incident attempts to send these death threats to anybody, not just Kurt, but anyone in the TMMC and Lights paddock, there will be revenge sought. However, keep in mind that it won't come from me since I have no involvement in the Lights and Master Cup series anymore. I knew what Plissken meant about the crash footage. I saw it a few times."
"If anyone gets near Plissken for what took place at Brazil, revenge will be sought. I guarantee it. I suggest people back off from this issue and let PSI's personnel work out the private details themselves. I highly doubt those threatening Plissken will ever listen to this advice, but it's just my own friendly kind of warning to them. It's either 'ya do or 'ya don't."

Random person with no connection to the story lashes out at threats against Plissken
A random person, who has absolutely no connection to the tragic events at Brazil and therefore would not be cared about by anybody, gave his thoughts on the recent death threats against Kurt Plissken after reporters decided to break into his house and stick microphones in his face.
Said the random person, "Fine. I'll play along this time. There is no reason people should be threatening Kurt. He did nothing wrong. If anyone dares to try something, they'll have to answer to me."
As reporters left, the random person was heard yelling, "Now stay out of my [expletive] house for good!"

Kazeyama: It's been a blast
Azuma Kazeyama hadn't had much of a season to talk about before Japan, now with two points paying finishes for Tutino in Japan and Brazil he's looked at the season in a higher note.
"It was fun doing a couple races for these guys, the car ran wonderful for the budget these guys had. And they're pretty durable too from what happened in Japan, all these cars really need is a engine program like the one they ran the last two races and they can be competing for points positions all year round."
