Why did I have a feeling this would happen?

This was way over anticipated and now Bernie is making lots of people mad. Personally, I never wanted this race to happen anyway.

Ecclestone said there were "no problems" with the grand prix scheduled in New Jersey in 2013.
Now let's see how long it takes this statement to fall through.

Re: Arrrrrrrrrrgh!
I've had doubts about this since it was announced. they couldn't complete the korean circuit in time, so why would they be able to finish this one on the same time scale? especially when you take into account all the bureaucratic nonsense the various US governments are famous for. F1 races in the US haven't worked since the days of running at the Glen, with the exception of the first few years or so at Indy. I wouldn't expect this or Jersey to be any different than the countless other failures in the past
honestly, if there is any F1 race in the US in the next few years I will be very pleasantly surprised

Yeah, Korea's about to lose its date and India is still dealing with protests from local farmers! Not a good sign!

True, but I'm talking about the before. Anything can still happen within a year's time.

Re: Arrrrrrrrrrgh!
I think the only reason the placed port imperial on the schedule was because Austin may not be ready. The track hasn't even been paved yet. (To the best of my knowlage) As of right now, I still think that the area is still a big open feild. I am not getting my hopes up for the race in Austin. I am getting my hopes up for Jersey in 2013.

A new twist to the story: is the race in Jersey killing the race in Austin?

Re: Arrrrrrrrrrgh!
I would rather have the race in Jersey as it is finacially stable. There isn't alot going on in Austin right now. Plus have you seen how narrow the track gets? Jersey is a much better track than another boring, wannabe, famous track like the majority of Tilke's perment tracks. Excluding, Malaysia.

Re: Arrrrrrrrrrgh!
I would prefer Austin because it's basically in my backyard, but I don't really care who gets the spot. I wouldn't mind that they would get both, but with those 2 and more tracks coming onto the schedule, it'll be a packed schedule.
Re: Arrrrrrrrrrgh!
More interesting news on the subject. Looks like we may have two United States GP's debut in the same year.

Apparently, Circuit of the Americas has declared Ecclestone's contract offer regarding the sanctioning fees "unrealistic and unfeasible" and has sent him a slightly edited version of the contract. I think we all know how Bernie responds to claims his sanctioning fees are too high
