Report suggests Colton Spencer was vaping while exiting his pit stall
A shocking report from a University of Toledo journalism student has suggested that Colton Spencer's vape use may have been a contributing factor in his race-ending pit road collision with fellow ASCC rookie Stefan Wodarczyk.
The team's radio communications reveal Spencer to have said, "let me know when you're done" after the crew began work on the car. It is at this point, it is said that Spencer slid his helmet up in order to expose his mouth for vape use. The 20 year-old likely wouldn't be able to see very well if this were indeed true.
What is known for sure, Spencer began exiting his pit stall as Wodarczyk entered his own just ahead of Spencer's. The ensuing collision resulted in enough damage for the Jim Brennan Motorsports entry to be retired from the race. Spencer had managed to qualify in 6th.
As of yet, there has been no comment on the situation by Colton Spencer, Jim Brennan Motorsports, or the team's sponsor JUUL.
