Timothy Ruiz under-performs, gets into a scuffle with Stater

After missing the last race dude to his Uncle's heart attack (who is still with us and has since been checked out), T. Ruiz was hoping to make a good first impression in the 2018 season, but that quickly soured after an initial incident between him and Stater. A wreck between the two would send Ruiz behind the wall. However, it seemed that Ruiz wasn't too happy with Stater's action. In fact, reports are leaking that Ruiz and Stater got into a pretty bad scuffle. It only took Xavier, 3 of Timothy's pit crew, and Ryan to separate the two. Considering last year how Xavier and Timothy were pretty much at each other's throat, this is a chance of pace as Xavier, who may we remind you that he once said last year "Timothy drives like crap", is trying to separate the fight. After words, Ryan was none too happy on Timothy's action. They are going to discuss if they are planning on pulling Timothy out for a race, but initial reports say no but they are going to closely monitor his aggression. I will say this, it's looking like Xavier and Timothy have made up over the offseason, we don't know how or why, but at least we don't have to hear several cringeworthy quotes.

BANNOCKBURN OUT AT DHRE / STATER GETS IN A MESS

A rough Day for the DHRE team at Sayre. Corbin Bannockburn a young, rich, and only moderately good looking driver from the Prairie Provinces once again looked lost in DHRE equipment. A second DNQ occured at Sayre and there is news coming out that Corbin been released from his ride and the #6 team will turn into a part time team "When sponsorship can be found".

As for Stater it didn't get better as he got in to multiple incidents and rumored to be in fight. Hetzel said that he's actually had minimal contact with Stater and was not in the vicinity of the 66 cat when the supposed fight happened, but was at the teams hauler. Stater has yet to comment.

Webster Disappointed with Home Track Showing

It didn't take long after taking the green flag in the 4th starting spot for Webster's night to go sour at Sayre Speedway in Webster's home state of Alabama. Webster struggled to keep the car on the bottom all night long, and quickly found himself a lap down. Webster would never get that lap back, and would finish 15th at the end of the night after avoiding some late wrecks.

Webster didn't have too much to say to reporters after the race.

"It's really disappointing for us to run like that tonight. We usually put a lot of focus on our short track program, and it showed in San Antonio. We just missed the setup really bad tonight. Way too tight through the center, and I couldn't keep it on the bottom."

Webster will have an additional chance to perform in front of a hometown crowd when the series stops at Talladega Superspeedway later in the season.

Post-Race Press Release:
Pacer Claims Victory in First Race with DSR

Wyoming racer Joshua Pacer scored the second victory of his FARC Lowe Dollar Series career at the quarter-mile Sayre Speedway in Dora, Alabama.

First competed in the Lowe Dollar Series in 2015 for Jonesport, Pacer contested only a handful of races with the same crew that worked on his short track cars back home in Wyoming and Colorado. Much to the surprise of the paddock, he and his team's car #88 managed to win at ABQ Speedbowl early in the season in 2016, setting him up for a run at the championship that ended in a heavy crash during the season finale at Texas World.

In spite of having raced for Desert Star Motorsports in a handful of races in order to keep his title hopes alive, the following year he would race solely for his old team, whose owner John Jones still lacks the resources to contest a full-season tour. Jonesport won't be able to make the ten races necessary for Pacer to contest the title this year either, but prior to the start of the season, team sponsor Fastrac Railways agreed to pay for four races aboard the #86 car at Durbin Sport Racing for Pacer.

Needless to say, the partnership could hardly have gotten off to a better start.

After starting the race from fifth, Pacer battled for various positions in the top five throughout the race. But as the closing stages approached, it became apparent that he had managed to preserve his tires better than the leader Mark Thompson. After clearing Thompson's car #98 and fending off some challenges from defending Sayre-winner Jim Kidd, Pacer emerged victorious at the end of lap 100.

With only ten races scheduled for the 26-year-old between his two teams, Pacer can ill-afford to finish poorly in any race or fail to qualify. But at this point, merely two races into the 16-race schedule, he's at least gotten off to a good start.

Pacer will be partaking in the upcoming race at ABQ Speedbowl, where he will be piloting the Jonesport #88 for the first time this season. His next showing behind the wheel of the DSR car #86 will be at 70/77 Speedway.
