2017 British GP
Formula 1 reaches the halfway point of the 2017 season with a return to Silverstone. Before we get to some race headlines, there is an item I need to get to.
Silverstone Opts Out
The British GP's future is in serious doubt after a stunning news item. Track owners have decided to exercise their option and have opted out of hosting future British GP's. The opt out comes at a time where tracks are returning such as Germany and France but it will not be the same without Silverstone. Unless a new contract is signed, the last F1 race at Silverstone will be in 2019.
With that out of the way, lets get to some headlines.
Bottas Has Another
The 2017 season for Finland's Valterri Bottas has been a success to say the least. For the second time this season and second time in his career, he stood on the top step of the podium. If anyone else has noticed, he brought the points gap between himself and Lewis Hamilton down to 15 points. While Valterri still has a ways to go before he can catch Vettel, he has definitely proved himself in Mercedes.
Mr. DNF, Max Verstappen
For the 5th time in 7 races, Max Verstappen has had a difficult time seeing the checkered flag on track. Last year, we were singing praises for Max with several fantastic showings with a win in Spain. This year, he is doing his best impersonation of de Crasheris. While he is a long way from that dubious distinction, he is not helping his cause.
Can Haas Finish 5th?
For the youngest F1 team on the grid, success has came in massively for Haas. The fight in the midfield has tightened and no one has broken away... except Force India. While Williams does have a podium this season, they might get caught by Haas if Grosjean or Magnusson keeps getting a large number of points while Williams barely gets in the top 10.
A New Team on the Horizon?
You may remember in 2010 when we had the wildly successful teams of HRT, Catorham, and Manor join the grid. While those 3 teams are gone, did you know there was a 4th team that was inquiring to join? The reality of that new team might happen. During the race weekend in Austria, Ross Brawn met with what would be the potential owner of a team that would be known as Stefan GP.
While Stefan GP drew the short straw to join in 2010, their opportunity to get on the grid might come in 2019. The possible new team would be based out of Parma and they have already hired a technical director to oversee the development of a possible 2019 car. They have a decent chance considering their location in Parma is close to a major wind tunnel they could use for development. We will wait and see for Stefan GP but a new team definitely would not hurt at all.

Re: 2017 British GP
Time for the British GP questionnaire. There are 4 questions for this legendary track. Here we go...
1. Last year, who got in trouble with officials and was given a 5 second time penalty for forcing Felipe Massa off track?
2. The 1950 race at Silverstone was the first F1 race contested. The first race also saw a sweep of the podium by which team?
3. Besides Lewis Hamilton, there are 5 other Brits that have won more than 1 British GP, name them.
4. Which current driver made his debut in the 2011 British GP?

Carlos Sainz and Toro Rosso are in trouble already for a technical infringement. Tire teethers were damaged.

*yawn*
Hamilton wins lol, Vettel's lead down to single digits thanks to Ferrari pushing the limits of the tyres, and Bottas is on the come.
GC Mercedes.

Re: 2017 British GP
- Winners of the British GP:
Valterri Bottas: Even with a grid spot penalty he still finished on the podium
Daniel Riccardo: From the back to finish 5th, well done
Force India: You guys didn't hit eachother for the second race in a row
- Losers of the British GP:
Left Fronts: Hey Ferrari, just because they last long doesn't mean they last that long
Daniil Kvyat: Obviously red is not good for you to see
Jolyon Palmer: Are you going to catch a break or what?
