Re: 2016 FARC Lone Star Championships

Post by UndyingLight on Tue Mar 07, 2017 3:59 am

25th for Lake:
The 026 car, driven by Alexa Lake, qualified 18th for her second and final race of the 2016 season.

During the entire race, she had no major problems, avoided all wrecks and even was in the top 10 for most of the race.

Unnoticed by the cameras, her car would suffer transmission issues and would fall down 3 laps of the remaining 10 laps left.

She would finish 25th, scoring a total of 62 points over her two races.

A few interviewers bum rushed her and asked her many questions. Most notably, what her plans for 2017 FARC would be.

"I've signed myself up to drive the #26 Binco CM Nova for 2017. Only in four races though. I'd like to think I could race the entire season, but other series I am entering have prevented thus." She stated to the few interviewers around.

Will we see good results out of Alexa Lake this year?

Re: 2016 FARC Lone Star Championships

Post by SpeedDemon37 on Tue Mar 07, 2017 1:41 pm

Post-Race Press Release:
Pacer's Run for the Title Ends After Early Crash

The championship was not to be for Joshua Pacer.

After starting from the second-to-last row on the grid, the surprise Final Five driver wouldn't make it to lap 10 in the FARC Lone Star Championships at Texas World Speedway. When the #5 Saar of Mike Malone broke down in turn 2, Pacer frantically attempted to take evasive action, but in doing so sent himself spinning into the rear of the #5 car. The collision caused a multi-car pileup that damaged fellow FARC-Off driver Tristan Kristoph and also eliminated the other Fastrac car - the Desert Star #83 driven by Aubrey Wood - among several others.

Needless to say, Pacer was none too happy following the incident. A loud, expletive-laden tirade was all that could be heard over the radio as he drove away from the wreck and back to the garage.

Pacer was also accused by some of interjecting overtly hateful language into his rant regarding Vincenzo Fochesato, the driver of the first car to strike the #88. The audio, however, is simply inaudible.

The crash took Pacer out of the race on only the ninth lap. Much attention has been given to him and his small, Wyoming-based team since their victory at Albuquerque Speedbowl. Through multiple last-minute entries and loans to other teams, Pacer overcame the odds and managed to make it all the way to College Station with a chance at the title. In all likelihood, unfortunately, he will not have the opportunity again next year. Owner John Jones indicated that the team's plans for 2017 are largely dependent on their championship results, and after becoming the first to fall of the Final Five, the team's car #88 would only be ranked 23rd in the final standings. Both Pacer and his team will return to Albuquerque next year when FARC pays its annual visit, but otherwise, the team's plans regarding where they plan to race have yet to be announced.

Through maintaining a top ten running position throughout the race and avoiding numerous crashes, KAT Motorsports rookie driver Chuck Johnson would finish the race in 6th, and in doing so became the first ever FARC champion to win under the FARC-Off system.

As a driver, Pacer ends his second season of FARC Smash Beer/Lowe Dollar Series competition with one race victory, two top fives, three top tens, four DNFs, 104 laps led, and a grand total of 683 points after fourteen starts.
