Taylor Out, Moore in at Team Saar USA

In a shock announcement, Team Saar USA announced that Tom Moore will become one of its race drivers with immediate effect, replacing Cameron Taylor. Moore will drive the car designated for Taylor, which will likely carry a different number since Team Saar USA has allowed its drivers some choice in the numbers on their cars this season. The team currently lists Moore's car number as 24 instead of 26 on the Round of Brazil entry list, but team general manager Rick Milligan brushed off any concerns, putting it in Moore's hands; "If Tom wants it changed, we'll do it. We just don't do any three digit numbers and everyone knows that."

Reports that relations Taylor and upper management had deteriorated since the start of the season could not be confirmed.

Statement from Tom Delgado, Minority Partner in DeGarmo-Delgado Enterprises

"I wish to express my congratulations to Tom Moore on his move to Team Saar USA. While I always encourage drivers to finish their contracts before leaving, this was an opportunity that simply could not be passed up. Being a former top-tier driver myself, I understand why Tom would want to make the move right away, and he does so with my blessing. I thank Tom Moore for all his hard work during a very trying 2014 season for all of us involved at DeGarmo-Delgado Enterprises and wish him the very best going forward. As for us, we will have news on a replacement soon. I hope to speak to Mr. DeGarmo in the next 24-48 hours and together we'll come up with something to take DeGarmo-Delgado Enterprises to the end of the season"

Tom Moore Excited for New Opportunity with Team Saar USA

It's no secret that Tom Moore has not had the best of seasons in TMMC. Besides a solid 11th place drive at Quincy, it's been a season to forget. However, Moore still is thankful for the opportunity. "I'd like to thank Mr. DeGarmo and Mr. Delgado for the chance to drive in the TMMC. I've beyond thankful to them for giving me my first ever drive." When referring to his new ride for the remainder of the season, Moore was excited. "While it's not the same team by ownership, one of my biggest dreams in my Seattle driving days was to drive for Team Saar USA. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity and I'm super excited to work with the new team." Moore also confirmed he was happy with the #24 since it was a number he drove on the short track circuit in Seattle before switching to the number 25.

Cameron Taylor's statement:

It has been a privilege and an honor to drive for Team Saar USA this season. It is true that the team and I are parting ways. I'd like to thank Rick Milligan and Peter Keyes for this opportunity as well as our sponsors McDonalds, MavTV, and Bud for their support, and wish Tom the best of luck in his new ride.

As for myself I expect to be driving somewhere in the near future. I would like to run some endurance races, and I'm talking to a few people about opportunities like that. Change happens, and it's up to everyone to make it change for the better. I look forward to whatever comes next, and while I won't get into specifics, I can tell you that this will be the start of a new and better chapter.

Chaiter To Replace Moore at DeGarmo-Delgado Enterprises

A near-unknown will get a shot at stock car racing's biggest stage. 25 year old Australian Derrike Chaiter has been tabbed to replace Tom Moore at DeGarmo-Delgado Enterprises for the balance of the season. While Chaiter is nearly unknown outside of Australia, he is a regular competitor in Australian oval stocks. An effort was made to get him in the field as a promoter's option for the two Australian rounds. The promoter's option was not awarded to DeGarmo's team, but since Chaiter had not completed the required testing miles to be eligible for a Master License, they would not have been in a position to accept it.

"We had committed to Kurt [Reynolds] and Tom [Moore] at the time." team co-owner Owen DeGarmo stated.
"We were able to get Derrike the number of testing miles he needed to get his license, but we were going to try and enter him in any of the remaining races as a Promoter's Option to make up for not getting him in front of his home crowd."

When Moore and Team Saar USA approached DeGarmo about leaving, DeGarmo felt it was time to make it up to Chaiter and gave Moore his blessing.

"Tom Moore got along great with this team. We've had some disagreements, but nothing that we couldn't resolve as gentlemen and I'd still put in a good word for him anywhere." DeGarmo stated.
"I'm obviously disappointed with his decision but I didn't want to have someone driving for me that had their minds elsewhere. It also gave me an opportunity to promote either Derrike Chaiter or Brad Dwyer to his race seat."

While Brad Dwyer and Craig Jonser were the leading candidates to drive the #19 car, DeGarmo stated that Dwyer opted out of the ride by his own choice.

"Brad [Dwyer] didn't think he was ready yet, so instead of having two drivers split the #19 car, I felt it was better to have Derrike Chaiter complete the season in the #19 car, and I welcome him to DeGarmo-Delgado Enterprises."

Kard Involved in Highway Accident, Out for Season

Lenard International driver Jacob Kard was involved in a single car accident in Rosemont, Illinois while on his way to O'Hare Airport. Kard, who was alone in the car at the time, crashed into a barrier after losing control of his car. While authorities said that they had reason to believe alcohol may have been a factor, there is overwhelming evidence to believe that it was not. Kard's most serious injuries were broken bones in both legs. He also displayed concussion-like symptoms, the full extent of which are not known at this time.

Lenard International confirmed that they are not expecting Kard to return to racing for this season, and were monitoring his condition closely. Fresh off of posting his best drive since the Karjala Grand Prix, Jacob Kard's season appeared to have just gotten back on track and into full swing. Both Paul Lyons and José Luis Martinez were expected to be named as Kard's replacement driver. Neither driver is able to run all of the remaining races this year due to other commitments. Martinez has only just returned to racing after missing a TM Mexico race due to a broken hand, and would have to miss some races. Lyons would have to miss both South American races as well as the semifinal race in British Columbia due to racing a GT-R37 in Europe.

Lenard International stated that they are monitoring the driver market and are expecting an announcement soon.

Chaiter stoked at this opportunity to strut his stuff for DeGarmo-Delgado Enterprises
Derrike Chaiter has been named to replace Tom Moore. Derrike Chaiter happened to be recording a video for YouTube when he got the call. He decided to leave his reaction in. It was hilarious. Let's say, that video has already over a million views and it has been a day.

Later that day, interviewers asked how he felt and he responded firmly, "I now have my chance to grasp what I have been dreaming about since I was a young lad. If I have to push my car to the very brink of disaster, I will. I am SO excited!"

"I won't throw away my chance! Not a chance!" He stated

An interviewer asked what he has planned and he replied that "I'm going to push my car to the very limit. Push it far beyond it's boundaries and score DeGarmo-Delgado some points before season out. From there on, I'm not sure. It depends on whether or not DeGarmo-Delgado will resign me."

He's had plenty of practice on road courses and ovals in his array of races in Australia. He decided to move to the states to live with his British girlfriend, Alexa Lake.

Cameron Taylor Named to Drive #6 Lenard

The past week has probably been the biggest whirlwind in Cameron Taylor's life. In the span of 5 days, the highly-touted Taylor went from driving a manufacturer-backed Saar, to an unemployed driver with little hope of getting back on the grid, to landing one of the fastest cars in the series.

Taylor had not been rumored to drive the #6 Lenard, but when his name appeared as the driver on the entry list, Lenard International confirmed that he was to be the driver.

"It was a very last-minute deal, but we have a lot of faith in Cameron [Taylor] as a driver." team owner Adam Samson told the press upon landing in Brazil.
"If we didn't believe he could score big results for us before the season is out, then we wouldn't have made the offer to him. We're ready to show that top talent doesn't belong on the sidelines, it belongs on the grid."

The timing of Jacob Kard's off-track injury meant that Taylor was only named as the driver of the #6 Lenard only a day before Taylor would be due to depart for the Autodromo Daniel Estevem in Brazil. Current Lenard International driver Luciano Soveral only heard of Taylor being his teammate at the airport.

"The team told me that they were really pushing to get Taylor as soon as Jacob was in the hospital. They really didn't have time and Cameron was about the only driver the team felt good about having in the car for the rest of the year." Soveral said during a phone interview.
"I like Cameron, who doesn't like Cameron? Even when you're mad at him you still respect him because he gives you respect."

It's believed that Taylor will drive the #6 car into next season if Kard is not ready to return to the cockpit by then.
