Overdrive will not use the Auto3000 templates, Overdrive will be using OWR, while the Auto3000 mod is Indycar V1.1.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
With that, all possible full-time slots are taken for the upcoming season of Formula Overdrive.
AmeriCar still has 4 slots left.
Also:
Cromwell Raceworks 400K One-Offs
The Overdrive Championship Series will close its season on the high banked Texas Motor Speedway, by a clear "oversight" on the part of track and series promoters, the race takes place on November 18th, 2018, 6 years after the ill-fated Hanmore World Championship race, that killed 5 drivers in its running.
36 cars are expected to start the 166 lap event that will give double points to the whole field. There will also be $1,000,000 at stake for the winner, and if a driver voluntarily scraps their starting position, choosing to start 36th, and manages to win the race, they'll win an additional Million Dollars.
Entry form:
* I'll take in as many entries as I see fit (I'll probably lock it down on 50-60 total entrants), full-time and part-time cars are all automatically in.
* A number is not taken unless it's on the team charts on TMPedia. I will resolve all number conflicts the way I'd see fitting. I would prefer 3 digit numbers for one-off cars, with either 1, 2, or 9 as the leading digit.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
I am in the process of reforming the ratings system to better fit my intentions for both series. Stand by.
In the meantime continue to enter cars for either AmeriCar or Overdrive Cromwell 400K.
I HAVE POSTED THE NEW SYSTEM. ADAPT YOUR RATINGS ACCORDINGLY.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
- Thundersport GP + Andrew Van Zant - Race 1 & 2 Press Releases:
- Mexico City
37 year old Andrew Van Zant (or Zandt), of New Zealand came into AmeriCar with the intent to race his heart out and grow his dream of being the owner of a legendary team of his own. Coming into his first season, with Xenos and Pirtek on board, Zant qualified fairly well for his first race in his AmeriCar season.
Qualifying seventh, he raced clean and hard and claimed an eighth place finish to which he stated post-race "I am proud of my finish today. Even if I lost a spot, I made it home and got myself and my team, even if it is only me, its first top ten, and I could not be more proud."
He left Mexico City in relatively high spirits.
Circuit of the Americas
Andrew Van Zant returned to the next race and set a fast lap to qualify eighth in only his second start. Due to attrition and fails of ahead, he flew his way to third place and looked as if he had a car to win the race with. Coming off one of the hairpins, himself and Hogan Dundee fought, but Dundee spun him, relegating him to tenth place.
It was so late in the race come his spin that Zant could not regain back to third. He finished in eighth place after recovering some of his spots back. During his post-race interview, it was pretty clear that Zant was none too pleased with Dundee's actions.
"I was racing him cleanly, and he turned and dumped me. I would care to have a chat with him." was all Van Zant would say before he turned away and walked off. It is unsaid if any altercation went down between Van Zant and Dundee.
Nevertheless, with his eighth place finish, Zant currently sits in fifth place in the points standings, behind by thirteen points to first place.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
- Mexico City:
- Casey Lester: HELL YES! That's how we start off the season! Had a lightning-fast car all race and I was gone once I got out front. Gotta thank Terry and the entire team for the hot rod. If this is a sign of things to come, I'm pretty happy about it! Can't believe we did it!
Mardiros Fermanian: We had a good car, but get into a crash. At least we finish 11th.
- Provo:
- Casey Lester: Another awesome day at the office, eh? Man, that was a fun battle with Andriy there. Congratulations to Emi [Satou] and ATK Racing too! Just didn't quite have it in the second race, but it's excused by how Race 1 went! Spectacular day yet again!

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
Oh boy, I need to catch up on the press releases!
- Thundersport GP @ Mexico City:
- Andrew Van Zant (occasionally spelled Zandt, as is in this series), who is coming into his first owner/driver seat in a racing format. Usually, he runs in a series and has someone else own his car. However, this isn't the case with his first stint in AmeriCar, as he owns this one-car team and he is driving for it. Nonetheless, Zant has shown to be pretty quick in his #77 Pirtek Xenos chassis.
"I am to try my best here at Mexico City, and rather, the full extent of this season. Pirtek and Xenos have jumped on board to help me in my likeness to try and win some races, and perhaps, a championship title. This is not the fastest car out here, but you can understand that I will hunt you down, and pass you as best I possibly can."
"Here's to a good season, in AmeriCar. May the best lad win."
Coming out of qualifying, Zant has a decent day with qualifying tenth. He will make his way through the field. During the race, which was plagued with a bit of chaos, Zant kept his nose clean throughout the day, and maintained good pace. He would come home eighth. A good debut, for the New Zealander.
- Austin - Circuit of the Americas:
Coming in to the round of Austin, at the Circuit of the America's, Zant showed a faster pace during practice and qualifying, even at one point, having the lap to beat. However, his pace dropped marginally in qualifying, where he would take a seventh place grid start, to which he promptly said over the radio "I did better....and I can do better."
During the race, Andrew Van Zant capitalized on the failures and whoas of the leaders, eventually finding himself in second place. Coming out of a turn, Hogan Dundee and Andrew Van Zant slide together and Zant would go around out of the second position. "What was that for?" was all that was said over the radio. Nevertheless, Andrew Van Zant got very little damage and was able to continue on in tenth place.
The ground Zant lost to Dundee spinning him was very little gained back. Zant would finish ninth, after having such a promising run. During his post-race interview, Zant was explicitly displeased. While there were no swears, and Zant remained calm, you could tell he was not very happy with Hogan Dundee. He again stated "What was that for?" and proceeded to hop off stage and head to his hauler. He shunned the reporters who followed, too.
- Provo - Provo Motorsports Park:
- Being unfamiliar with Provo Motorsports Park, naturally, it took Andrew Van Zant to catch his rhythm while in practice and qualifying. He did not qualify well, outside the top ten and had ground to make up. To which, he promptly did not make up as he would finish outside the top ten. He never caught his rhythm and he made note of in his press release.
"I stayed clean, but I could not find my footing on this blasted track, and that cost me in the end. I will do better next time."
- Long Beach:
- That he did, as even though he qualified poorly, he was able to make his way up through the pack due to attrition and he kept his nose clean. No fights were picked, and no nosebleeds are to have happened. He ended the day with a finish in seventh, which would award him his third top ten in four races. He would be placed in seventh in points. Not too shabby for a New Zealander.
- Edmonton:
- Arguably his worst performance yet, he was brutally slow in pace during practice, and he thought it could have been faulty machinery. Nothing was done but a couple tweaks, and a changed radiator, but this did not help as he couldn't grasp the track, and he qualified down past 20th place. His worst qualifying yet.
Consider this: He kept his nose clean all race long, but was never once prevelant in this race. He finished outside the top ten, and top fifteen to make up his worst finish and worst result yet at a track this season. Knowing Zant, would he try to wittle his way with a big finish at Mosport, the next track on the schedule?
That is left up to Zant to be determined, and he has said "I will do amazing things next race, betofore my machinery should decide not to give up on me."
He leaves Edmonton in ninth in points.
- Mosport:
- He turns a new page and is incredibly fast, more speed than prior at Mosport. Having been here a couple times to Canada in racing ventures, he has raced Mosport dozens of times and knows the track well. In practice, he was one to watch as he would set quick times, which are comparable to the top three in points. Qualifying was no exception, as he set a blazing fast lap to fourth place grid spot.
He used this to his advantage and was able to weasel his way through attrition and his opponants to finish a distant, but great second place. His best of the season.
His post-race interview was very short, as he'd say "That is more like it, folks," wink, and exit the room.
He now sits in seventh in points. He may be an underdog for the championship. Keep an eye out on Andrew Van Zant

Sanvoy to Leave Long Family Autosport at End of 2018 Season
After struggling in Americar since moving to the United States, Long Family Autosport and driver Sasha Sanvoy have mutually agreed to part ways at the end of the 2018 season.
"Sasha contacted Dima, Ryan, and I for a meeting last night and we all came to the agreement that it was not working out" Tony Long stated. "We all felt that she was not comfortable in the series and Sasha confirmed that to us. I was hoping that Sasha would have great success in the series but it just didn't happen."
"I will miss these guys and gals" Sasha said. "These cars were just not what I am accustomed to and I just could never get used to the car. Dima, Ryan, Tony, and I all felt that it was best for me to go back to Australia and continue my racing career. They were nice enough to let me finish the season and there is not any hard feelings about the situation from anyone."
Long Family Autosport are still planning to run 2 cars in the 2019 season and they have started the search for a replacement for Sasha for 2019. Dima van Hall also confirmed that he was going to return to Americar for 2019 but it was hinted he might move to the North American Auto Club team for 2020 if the possibility of a 3rd Long Family Autosport car is more likely to happen.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
Overdrive Championship Series splitting from National Sports Car Club at the end of the season
In a press conference earlier today, Ben Aldívar, mexican-american communications mogul announced his acquisition of Overdrive Championship Series together with a group of investors. There are no further details on what the series will become, but the press conference was the official announcement for the acquisition.
Aldívar is one of the investors that formed the Overdrive Company, which will manage the Overdrive Championship Series starting at the conclusion of 2019, it's expected that the series breaks away of the National Sports Car Club with the acquisition, which is a move akin to the original iteration of the series splitting from ARLA following the purchase of it by Hanmore Industries.
More announcements are expected to be done by the Overdrive Company in the coming weeks.
AmeriCar unveils new bodies for 2019 campaign, cost effective measure
In another announcement that had been rumored for years, AmeriCar Competition Ventures, LLC President, Anthony Bailey unveiled the new bodies for the 2019 Hanmore AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series.
"These cars have been together with team owners, driver and bodymakers and we expect it to be of great use not only for us, but for the viewer at home that will not only better looking cars, but a larger street relevance to these cars, of course there'll be the detractors that will say they are a departure from our identity, but I disregard those opinions, as this isn't a departure from what AmeriCar is, but an evolution of it." - said Bailey in the press conference.
The models are smaller and more similar to each other, while retaining aesthetic differences between them, these composite bodies are part of a new cost saving measure by the series, as each complete body will be under $7000 to acquire. With the price of other parts and the engine, the total cost to field a car goes down to slightly over $38000.
Teams and drivers have shown increased interest in joining the AmeriCar ranks, and according to Bailey, "this will be the perfect way of creating a level playing field for teams, drivers and manufacturers".
Aside from Saar, Lenard and Xenos, which all return to AmeriCar, Kanako and Calton-Morel join the ranks, while Inglesby makes their long-awaited return to the series after more than 15 years out of it. Saar will keep a different variant of the Eagle in the series, just as Lenard keep the R37 and Xenos retains the Mace. Kanako joins with the TH10, Calton-Morel with the Nova and Inglesby with the Bolero, meaning 4 of the 6 models are badged on the street as muscle cars.
More developments and speculations are expected following these announcements as Silly Season unofficially begins for 2019.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a setup to begin the 2019 Silly Seaon for both series, I don't plan on taking Overdrive off the thread, I'll add more details for the 2019 stuff as I work on it.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
- AmeriCar at Daytona:
Mistake Costs van Hall, Finishes P2
Ever since joining AmeriCar in 2017, Long Family Autosport have seen several great performances but has never gotten the top spot. Daytona was almost the team's breakthrough after driver Dima van Hall led coming to the white flag only to finish 2nd after a mistake in turns 2 and 3.
Dima led 9 laps, the most of any driver after surviving a major scare from the lapped numbered 24 car. Dima tried to pass the leader at the time, Libby Bell, before the 24 swerved in to Dima as he was going by.
"Jeg har ingen idé om, hvad han gjorde" Dima said. "Jeg troede, han ville ødelægge mig for at forsøge at skød ham."
(I have no idea what he was doing...I thought he was going to wreck me for trying to lap him)
Even after spinning a little earlier before the last lap, Dima was still able to fight his way back to the lead after several of his rivals had issues. Dima entered the last lap trying to hold off Celina Vandom for the win. Dima went wide out of 1, went in to the grass, went over the curb, and spun the car from the lead. Dima would hold on to finish 2nd.
"We couldn't believe it in the pits" Ryan Long said. "It looked like we were going to take the win and we then see our car spin out. Dima was a little upset with himself when he got out of the car but he easily calmed himself down."
Leaving Daytona, Dima van Hall finds himself sitting 5th in the championship hunt 11 points behind. When Dima was asked about his chances, he said the following:
"Jeg ved det ikke. Vi kæmpede for at starte sæsonen, men vi fik hurtigere og hurtigere og har fået mere konsekvent. Vi er tæt, men vi har brug for lidt mere for at vinde denne titel."
(I don't know. We struggled to start the season but we got faster and faster and have gotten more consistent. We are close but we need a little more to win this title.)
AmeriCar heads to Burlington next.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
- AmeriCar @ Burlington:
Van Hall Claims P7, 9 Points from Championship Lead
After having a below average qualifying effort, Denmark's Dima van Hall was able to drive to finish 7th finishing behind championship rivals Vivian Arnold and Brandon Ashcroft.
"Jeg er tilfreds med resultatet," Dima stated. "Vi gjorde op for en frygtelig kvalificerende indsats og fik en respektabel punkter træk."
(I am happy with this result...We made up for a terrible qualifying effort and got a respectable points haul.)
After struggling to start the season, Long Family Autosport and Dima van Hall have managed to pull together and have closed to 4th in the drivers championship, only 9 points behind Vivian Arnold. In his way also are Brandon Ashcroft and Paul Barnes Jr.
"De vil være svære at slå," Dima commented. "Jeg tror, Paul vil være den hårdeste at slå, men det vil være en stor bedrift, hvis vi er i stand til at."
(They will be hard to beat...I think Paul will be the toughest to beat but it will be a great accomplishment if we are able to.)
Long Family Autosport Sign Italian Karting Star
With the departure of Sasha Sanvoy, Long Family Autosport went searching for a replacement. After their search period, Long Family Autosport has reached an agreement with 17 year old Italian karting driver Vito Vinci (Ve-toe Vin-chee) to be a teammate to Dima van Hall for the 2019 AmeriCar season.
Vito Vinci was born in Sicily and has been racing go karts since he was 7. He has claimed several championships in lower tier kart racing across Italy and in to Monaco and Southern France.
"Vito's name was brought to us not too long after we announced the opening" Tony Long stated. "Our mindset was too look for a young driver to put next to Dima that can learn and grow in a new environment quickly. Dima is wanting to get Vito some simulator time with the car as soon as possible to give him an idea of what to expect."
"Sono super eccitato per questa possibilità in America," Vito stated. "Non vedo l'ora di iniziare con il team."
(I am super excited for this chance in America...I can't wait to get started with the team)
The Long Family Autosport lineup for 2019 will look as follows:
19 - Dima van Hall
91 - Vito Vinci
Both cars will, once again, be sponsored by Motiv bowling with Dima in a white car and Vito in a black car to distinguish the two.

Re: 2020 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series
AmeriCar to reintroduce class competition to Road Racing Championship Series
In the post-race press conference following the round at Lime Rock Park, AmeriCar Competition Ventures, LLC President, Anthony Bailey announced the expansion of the Hanmore AmeriCar Road Racing Championship to 4 different classes, as the tour integrates one of the main companion series that are sanctioned under the National Sports Car Club.
The "NSCC Production Car Challenge" is divided in two classes, Sport and Stock. Sport features performance-enhanced automobiles, in order to create cheap, yet exciting competition, while the Stock division, as the name states, is the closest to a true Production car tour within the road-racing exclusive market, as teams are required to use compact street cars with NSCC-compliant security modifications, akin to Hornet car racing.
This means AmeriCar will feature four different classes of competition weekly, each with 12 scheduled races for each division in 2019, with the four series meeting at Laguna Seca for the Championship Finale, within the NSCC National Runoffs. Most of the time, 2 to 3 divisions will race in the same venues, but in certain cases, some weekends will only feature one of the four categories, yet, all will have 12 races.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2019 AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series Season Information
The Hanmore AmeriCar Championship Road Racing Series is the most traditional road racing tour of America, holding events across the continent, sharing dates with the American Professional Sportscar Racing Championship and V8 Championship Car racing. Four classes vie for supremacy in some of America's most traditional tracks.
As normal, I'll take the entries I approve. Each individual team is limited to 3 cars combined across all four categories.
Part-time teams are encouraged, but will only contest up to 6 events in each division.
Due Date for Teams: January 31st.
Due Date for Paintschemes: Fenruary 15th
Go nuts.

- ratings system:
- In NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, each computer-controlled car has a set of ratings that determines its competitiveness in multiple categories, presented as a range between two numbers, the MIN and MAX. In AmeriCar, character and team owners will assign their entries a set of predetermined values into each category.
DRIVER owners may only send me DRIVER ratings. TEAM owners may only send me CAR ratings. Multi-car teams can have differing values to each car.
You get 4 different sets of ratings to assign to each field in all 3 categories, these sets vary from class to class:
AC-1 Class: 50-55, 55-60, 60-65, 65-70
AC-2 Class: 40-45, 45-50, 50-55, 55-60

AC-3 Class: 10-15, 15-20, 20-25, 25-30
You must assign each value to a category, like the example below:
Aggression: 50-55
Consistency: 55-60
Finishing: 65-70
Qualifying: 60-65
You must also assign those values to the track types, as I will give different track types to each course in-game.
Anyone who fails to send me ratings will have their drivers and cars default to 40-40. You may also send me 0-0 ratings for drivers supposed to be out of depth.
Drivers that have previous wins or titles in the series, get a bonus of 5 points.

Thundersport GP to return to AmeriCar for a second year, but under new management
Andrew Van Zant stated in a press release "..I intend to return to AmeriCar next season, but I am hiring a good friend of mine, Jack Hallec to take the reigns of the team for a season or two, or however he really wants."
Jack Hallec, aged 25 and from Melbourne, Australia is said to drive alongside Van Zant in AC1. "I be quite excited with t'is task at 'and. Andy lent t'e reigns ta' me an' I got to do me job. It be fun out t'ere next season with ya lads racin' 'ard!"
Andrew Van Zant will return with the same Xenos #77 car. His thought process is that he had leftover vehicles from his first season, so he'll use them until he needs new ones.
Jack Hallec will pilot the #74 Turtle Wax/Menards Xenos.
