Is painting a race car easy or hard?

Post by UndyingLight on Tue Oct 11, 2016 10:09 am

For a good long time, I have been wanting to start a league with some of my own painted cars. However, I am not exactly aure how to do that, and if it would be something that clicks with you instantly, or it takes awhile.

I would love to be able to figure this out and paint some cars!

That depends on what you are painting, for now I'd suggest start with something simple.

Say, if I started with a regular cup car, it would be easier?

Default cup is the easiest. I recommend finding and downloading carviewer, which will allow you to see the paint schemes in 3D.

Default Cup is the easiest to paint on because of the number of resources available for it. No question about it. The various pre-Gen6 COT cars are also pretty easy for the same reason and seldom will you need to wrap anything around a wireframe.

Cars are as complicated or easy as you want them to be.

Unsponsored/Underfunded teams are relatively easy

Stuff like the M'n'M's cars and the 2016 NOS car can be quite difficult on the other hand.

Also, like Cynon said, Original Cup/COT's are the easiest to paint. Start with those.
