Tony Long Autosport to Return With 3 Full-time Drivers

In news confirmed before, Tony Long Autosport will attempt their first full-time assault at the Super Stocks championship. They will bring a 3 car lineup in a new manufacturer.

Their lineup will consist of team name driver Tony Long, Frenchman Romain Carpant, and Aspira Juniors competitor Kris Wascher. They will drive in Volpi's instead of Lycoia's.

Their lineup will look the following:

191 - Romain Carpant
906 - Kris Wascher
919 - Tony Long

At this time, only Kris Wascher has confirmed sponsorship with Red Bull and KTM in his usual car number, 906.

With 2017 introducing an endurance race, Tony Long Autosport are still weighing their options as to how they will look for the race.

After Failure to Win 2015 FARC Title, Delgado Possibly Eyeing 2017 Dash Cup Title Run?

Building a legacy that will outlive himself has always been of the utmost importance in Tom Delgado's life. Will that desire to be considered one of the all time greats prompt him to end his second retirement for a run at the Dash Cup championship? Apparently we've been told not to rule it out.

Speaking from Lake Gooi behind his "superboat", which the night before had reached a top speed of 164 MPH with Kellan Rogers-Ashby aboard, Delgado admitted that the appeal of going for the Dash Cup Super Stocks championship has peaked his interest.

"The only problem with a potential return in 2017 is that I may end up missing a race or two to attempt to qualify for, and compete in, the Indianapolis 500. Other than that, there's really nothing stopping me except my age. I've got a clean bill of health other the usual aches and pains that come with getting old" Delgado, 42 in August, said in the interview. He relieved Amanda Torres in the Eurospeedway feature and came home 18th, is attempting the Spa GP, and is considering whether or not to crash the New York GP as well.

Screw it
Scott Roush, a fairly new face to the serieses (or whatever the plural form of series is) completely, is checking out a bunch of the lower tier teams' "Race Shops" saying he is looking for a ride but he knows his odds to get into a top tier car in his first ever season are "lower than a pair of saggy pants" as jokingly remarked by the 19 year old. He is looking for a team for 2017 but will try to run as much as he can.

Jack Golden Enterprises will be back in 2017 with 4 Lycoia Infiltrator entries. Natalie Kendall and Jennifer Goodwin will remain with the team as they expand once again, bringing the All For One entry into the fold. 32_34 Racing looking to join Dash Cup 2017 with 2 full-time drivers, and 2 part time.

Once again, 32_34 Racing has signed up again for the 2017 season after they had signed for 2016 too late.
This time, they came early and should likely be able to join.

Eric Clapp and Watt Atkins have discussed joining DC 2017 full-time

Yes, it seems that 32_34 Racing/Motorsports is making its way around these series. Motorsports having lined up FARC for 2017, they had the second half join Dash Cup 2017. It's still uncertain what car they will drive, or if anyone should join over from the motorsports side.

Reuben Attreska and Kasey Katan have also announced they will run part time or full-time if they can land a spot in 32_34 Racing.

Like Clapp and Atkins, Attreska and Katan are willing to join any team that will take them part-time, or join 32_34 Racing Full-time. We'll have to see.

Their Line-up will look like:
Eric Clapp: 34 (car)
Watt Atkins: 32 (car)
Reuben Attrescka: 76 (car)
Kasey Katan: 77 (car)

Pronunciations:

Reu-Ben At-Tres-Ka
Kasey Kat-tan
Wa-ht Atkins (No relation to Ben Atkins)

We're going to have to wait for further news regarding 32_34 Racing entering Dash Cup 2027, however, it is looking up for the group at the moment.

Gabriel Macena Racing to expand following 2016, driver lineup still under doubt

Gabriel Macena Racing, team formed in late 2015 out of the remains of Moretti GP, will return in 2017.

The team is expected to expand to three or four full-time cars, as the team owner-driver, Gabriel Macena may not return to Dash Cup following his rookie season, either due to other possible commitments, or even to take a sabbatical, but those rumors have been confirmed.

Luc Pellerin is most likely confirmed into the second car of the team, and there is a big possibility Aspira Juniors rookie Siana Jones will move from the development team, to the main cars. The other two cars don't have drivers confirmed.

Tony Long Autosport to Stay in Juniors, Different Driver

3 weeks after the conclusion of the 2016 Aspira Juniors season, driver Tony Long will be 18, over the maximum age to compete in the series.

However, even with this problem, Tony Long Autosport will stay in Aspira Juniors in their familiar 919 car with 15 year old Olivier Carpant, the younger brother of Romain Carpant.

Sponsorship has not been announced for Olivier. Olivier is expected to do a couple of one-off drives in 2017 with at least one of those appearances being as a substitute driver for the Endurance Race at Oulton Park.

Jules Lough "Optimistic" about chances with a good Spa GP showing
Young California-born racer Jules Lough is not often someone with a whole lot of cares, but his upcoming one-off appearance at the Dash Cup Spa Grand Prix qualifiers may give him a lot more responsibilities.
"A good showing there might give us the momentum to head to New York (Autoring) later on," said the 19 year old karting champion, "and from there, who knows? I've got a loyal sponsor in Wells Fargo and the drive to do anything. Whatever happens, happens." Asked about his current training, Lough replied "I'm doing some simulation racing, waiting for the first open tests. Driving in San Francisco, I'm starting to learn this whole 'uphill-downhill' business pretty well."
Andrew Cavali looking towards an office rather than a cockpit in the future
Another driver looking for a solid showing in the Spa Grand Prix qualifying races is Canadian Andrew Cavali (better known by his riding nickname, Ace). At 33, and with a career spent on the always-rough landscape of motorcycle racing, Cavali is looking to form his own team, Ace Racing, with some of the sponsors from his race-winning seasons. "I've got a family, a couple kids, and I'm just looking forward to settling down somewhere, maybe in England. I've lived my last few years here, I'd like to stay and maybe even develop some of my own drivers."

Liam Wells confirmed to join Dash Cup 2017

Ah yes, the young European driver from Germany is still looking for the car details and such. However, he is confirmed to join Dash Cup 2017; all the while depending he should earn a spot.

More rumours unfold around Kasey Katan being replaced due 2017 Dash Cup.

Kasey Katan has shown some interest in the sport, however, this leaves it up to 32_34 Racing to decide what to do. Kasey Katan's claimed spot may or may not be up for grabs during the latter parts of 2016. Rumour has it, she'll be a back up driver for the most part should she not qualify.

Sucks to be Katan.

Death Metal Racing Joining Aspira Juniors for 2017, as well as a part-time effort in main Dash Cup
Greg Ellis, Leader of Heavy Metal Band Hysteria with over 3 platinum records, has decided with all his money to run in the Dash Cup for 2017 With two Aspira Juniors cars and a Dash Cup Effort for 2017, Two Unknowns in the world of racing will take on the Aspira Juniors, Brad Ellis, the 15 year old son of Greg, as well as David Oden A former american Basketball Player who will be taking on the world Of Racing after being considered a Bust in the NCAA. David's Father, Cedric will be taking on the Main effort with the two Part-Time Cars, He was a Former All-American in College, Before being the Bust of the century after being drafted in 2007, Of course the cars reliability has been questioned, as in the main Series, they bought Outdated Volpi SR560's from 2009 which we're in the rear of the pack. Due to the ammount of money they have the team will most likely buy spots in the Dash Cup field. Greg Ellis himself will be driving in the Main Series. The Junior cars will be a lot better in the running.

More information has poured out the four full/part time entries for Dash Cup 2017

32_34 Racing has pulled along Enrico Lysipadas (Lie-ss-ih-pa-das), and Kiarga Tsakumoti (Sak-oo-moti) into the picture. However, Eric Clapp and Reuben Attreska have both resigned because both have run into issues regarding money.

This means that Katan and Watts have earned two very respected road racers.

In an interview, Tsakumoti noted, "I'm glad to have chance to race with 32_34 Racing. My skill is mostly on road courses, but I good at..?" Tsakumoti, 23-year-old Japan resident was called unexpectedly when she was twenty minutes out of racing in her Aspira for Japan's Regional Championship. (Fictional) With the opportunity at 32_34 Racing floating upon her hands, she unfortunately crashed on Lap 3 after contact with her Japanese teammate. Excited as she was with the thought of coming to Dash Cup, she applied.

Enrico Lysipadas, 30-year-old Portuguese road racer was also contacted. At least, he was at his home. When projected with the idea, Lysipadas consulted his wife Amina. After a few minutes of discussion, he took the roll. However, he will go part time. Part time going on ALL roadcourses, the Toddring rookie/feature race, and the final race.

Other information

With the joining of Lisypadas and Tsakumoti, officials at 32_34 Racing (Randal Cleeiger/Alexa Lake) have not disclosed what manufacturer will be because they simply cannot decide. Hot names include Aspira, Duncan, Gasnier, Tutino(??), and STS.

Re: 2017 Silly Season Thread

Post by Ben Atkins on Sun Nov 27, 2016 1:37 pm

"STS ATK Racing's plan exciting" according to Atkins

Ben Atkins has said that the long-term plan for STS ATK Racing is exciting after the announcement of the alliance with current team Citra Squeeze Racing. Atkins, who currently co-owns the team, also owns HQS Racing in the PART series, but has allegedly agreed a deal with Barry Astor for the latter to take over the team in time for the 2017 season.

STS ATK's current driver lineup consists of Matilda Dillinger, 2015 champion Cassandra Collins and Harriet Wallace, with Atkins and Aspira Juniors rookie Sachi Satou sharing the part time entry for the team. Citra Squeeze recently announced the signing of Perrie Forrester full time, while veteran Harold Smith and another Aspira Juniors rookie, Evie Vance, share their part time outfit.

STS ATK did have Carl Astor signed to their fourth full time car, but he backed out with aspirations of making it into US Stock Car racing. The team have yet to announce a driver for the #6 car, but Atkins is allegedly looking at several drivers, including race winner Vincenzo Fochesato, 2009 champion Carla Rosinski and Spaniard Mauricio Gallardo.

"There's some exciting things planned. There could be a lot of change in 2018." said Atkins, "There is a reason we're putting our trust and backing into a lot of young drivers. Dash Cup has grown to become a developmental league. We've seen drivers' careers flourish as a result of their achievements in the series."

"There's a lot of speculation and it really is exciting. If our plans come together, it's going to be huge. Not just for us as a team, but for our drivers too."

The biggest rumour is that Atkins could be looking to support a TM Lights outfit in 2018 with Cassandra Collins and/or Matilda Dillinger behind the wheel, with one of them possibly launching a bid for the Independent's Trophy as soon as 2017.

Atkins previously put funding into Atlantic Motorsports' (now Matthews Atlantic Motorsports) attempts in TM Lights and TM Master Cup in 2014, where James Hewitt won multiple races in TM Lights, and finished top 10 in the TMMC Round of Indianapolis, and Hannah Percy recorded three top 15 finishes in a row in the TM Master Cup series, spanning from the Round of Indianapolis, to the Round of Queensland, where she recorded a career best 9th.

Atkins also owned the team in their Independent's Trophy bid with himself behind the wheel in 2012, where the now full-time TMMC driver drove to a career-best 5th at Quebec, before falling short after a bad run of form in the Australia tour.

Atkins also hinted at a shake-up in the driver lineup for 2018, stating that there could be plans to move up both Vance and Satou, the teams two Aspira Juniors drivers, to the main series full time, whether it be with the main team or with Citra Performance Racing.

Delgado Worried About Losing Rosinski, Eager to Negotiate New Deal

With the news of potential interest in Carla Rosinski from the STS ATK team, TDR owner Tom Delgado is seeking a quick resolution to the former Dash Cup champion's future. "Of course I want to get Carla re-signed for 2017. That's priority number one. If we can do that, then we can start to put the rest of our ambitions in place. I will hope to speak to Carla and her representatives in the coming days and weeks, with the intention of a new contract. I made her the highest paid driver in the series for 2016, and I have no problem doing so for 2017 and beyond. The results don't show it, but Carla has done a great job so far this year both on track and with Amanda (Torres) as a mentor, and I know she'll continue to prove that bringing her back was the 100% right decision" Delgado said when pressed by reporters.

When asked about the future of Amanda Torres, Delgado was equally as bullish. "Amanda's already signed. Her contract doesn't expire until 2018, but there is an opt-out clause if she feels she needs to move on. We don't stop anyone from furthering their own ambitions, as long as they help us further ours" Delgado added, going into some detail about his contract policies.

Finally, Delgado was asked about any contingency plans if either driver leaves, and if he would step into a car in 2017 if the situation called for it. "There is no need for a contingency plan. There is also no need for me to be a full season driver, and even if there was, I have absolutely no desire to do so. I'm done as a full time racer. I've said it many times. Maybe next time you people will listen for once"

Tony Long Autosport "We are struggling to find sponsorship"

In a press conference held by Tony Long Autosport, they have announced that they are struggling to find sponsorship. While Kris Wascher and Tony Long have found a sponsor, finding sponsors for the Carpant brothers has been challenging.

"With Red Bull, KTM, and MOTIV already onboard, we have had several companies back out of negotiations thinking we have no room for new sponsors" Tony Long said. "The truth is that we can bring in more sponsors but we have had nobody step up to the plate to come onboard."

When asked if the lack of sponsorship would affect the team in terms of driver lineup, Long said that "the lineup we have is set in stone barring extreme circumstances."

Did Ben Atkins Contact Tony Long?

During the press conference, Tony Long left the room after receiving a phone call from a source that was not identified.

The initial thought was that STS ATK co-owner Ben Atkins was on the phone. This made some sense considering the fact that STS ATK announced the departure of Carl Astor. The top name that was identified for that ride was Vincenzo Fochesato.

When asked if Ben Atkins had contacted Tony, he said "I wish. Ben is not going to be looking for a driver with little sponsorship, a history with the other owner, and a lack of experience to even come close with the lineup he already has. It would be awesome to get a top notch ride but I would need a massive miracle to have a prayer of a chance for that ride."

Re: 2017 Silly Season Thread

Post by Casey Lester on Fri Dec 09, 2016 1:16 am

Lester on return to Keep Up GP: "I owe them my career", Morton confident in 2017 plans

[OOC: My earlier post was, with no offense, poking fun at NASCARLOVER427's post lol]

How careers can be transformed in two years.

Paramedics frantically took action to extricate and attend to two drivers who carried each other into the end of the Texas World Speedway pit wall. One was Tristan Bayne, a relative unknown who had associated with the (in)famous Barney Ward and had not yet established himself in anything above regional competition. The other, spinning like a top with the front end of the car destroyed, was Casey Lester.

Rushed to the nearest hospital with bruised lungs, a broken right wrist, a broken right leg, broken ankles, four broken ribs and a Grade III concussion, a return to racing was not immediately brought up because it was speculated that he would never get that chance. He and Bayne, luckily, both survived the accident. Bayne's racing career was declared over shortly after. Not Lester's, though. The 29-year-old's recovery in the hospital was long-term and a close friend, Patrick Johannson, would replace him in the FARC Super Series for the rest of the season in the #44 Verdant Lenard for Ike Durbin Inc. and wound up performing adequately. Despite how grim the future seemed, Lester made a goal; to be back in the sport of motor racing by the next season regardless of what position.

Never in his wildest dreams would he have expected a drive.

After remaining in the hospital for almost eight full months, therapy had gone extremely well and he was walking and moving on his own without assistance by the time December came around. In that same month, he got back behind the wheel of a car again; just not the one he had been hoping it would be. That at least helped him overcome any pain left over. With the support of his friends and family, Lester seemed very optimistic for the first time in a long while. Just before the 2015 season began, Lester himself revealed in an interview this past Wednesday that he had gone through a romantic breakup prior to the FARC crash and had not dealt with it very well with heightened anxiety and depression that were not treated. After the accident, Lester said he had felt suicidal but also did not seek treatment for it.

"It was something", Lester elaborated to reporters on Wednesday, "that would only add to the story. I didn't tell anybody. People didn't need to feel more sympathy for me. I blamed myself for all that and I know now I didn't handle it right. Nobody needed to step in and save me from my own mess and I just told myself 'Hey, suck it up and get back in the sport before anything else', so I did."

Since then, Lester has become involved with a new relationship and may possibly be getting engaged some time during the 2017 season. He had been in contact with Joel Rodriguez and another close friend, his former boss Ike Durbin (who released Lester from his contract a few weeks after the accident) towards the end of his recovery for potential places for employment. Suddenly a phone call in mid-January came from Olajide Minter, a Nigerian entrepeneur and millionaire who had started up a three-car Dash Cup team for the 2016 season, who asked him to take a full-time spot on the Pirelli Stock Series grid. Elated, Lester immediately agreed and jumped on his chance not only to get back into the sport, but to drive. To him, a HANS device seemed far more pleasant than a hospital bed.

That seat, the #59 Sidemen XIX Tutino T11, was confirmed Wednesday afternoon to be retained by Lester for next season. Good relations and, so far, the best performance of any Keep Up GP driver throughout the 2016 Dash Cup Pirelli Super Stocks Series season appear to warrant him that.

"I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else right now", Lester said following the team's announcement. "Mr. Minter has done a fantastic job with the whole organization of this team. Sure, we're not winning races, but the fact that we've done this well in our debut season is a victory overall. I feel like we have a lot of room and time to improve. We know what we're doing here and I'm beyond pleased to be part of this team next season. I owe them my career."

Lester also had a very brief hand in Dash Cup ownership in 2010 and 2011, fielding a car of his own (an old 2009 CM Nova) and failing to qualify for the three races he entered the #94. Nikolas Marchankov attempted once, but the other two attempts were piloted by Dan Morton... No way, that's not the same Dan Morton that won two races for Scuderia Pazzano in 2013, is it? Yes, it's the same Dan Morton who has struggled along with the rest of the Citra Squeeze team to score points this year. He has practically fallen off the face of the Earth to the point where many people forgot he was a third driver at Atlantic Motorsports in 2014.

However, Morton had a pair of sunglasses and that signature smirk coupled with his hair spiked in the front (as he typically has it) when he went to talk to the press on Wednesday.

"I'm not stressing myself over it much, honestly", Morton responded when asked about doubts regarding his 2017 plans. Citra Squeeze has been rumored to downsize and Morton is likely to be one of the drivers out at that team. "I can't really tell you about plans 'cause that's all confidential still. We've got a bit of time to sort everything out and what needs to be done will be done. The team have given a great go at points all season long and I thank them for that."

Two drivers who finally seemed to have things going right for them lost their spark last year. By determination and a pinch of luck, it seems all has been sorted out and they intend to make their rise once again.

How careers can be transformed in two years.
(Robert Correll, NASN, 12/8/16)

Tony Long Autosport Announce Oulton Park Lineup

The search by Tony Long Autosport to fill their Oulton Park endurance race lineup has been completed. During a press conference, Tony Long announced what their lineup will look like.

For car number 191, Romain Carpant and his younger brother, Aspira Juniors 2017 driver, Olivier Carpant will drive together. Romain is coming off a partial 2016 campaign that grabbed him a podium in France and a 3rd French Sports Car championship.

"Romain is driving like he never has. I am hoping that we have not seen the full potential of what he can do because he could steal a couple of wins in 2017. Romain has told me personally that Olivier might be even better than he was at 15 years old" Tony said.

For car number 906, Kris Wascher will be paired with veteran Dima Van Hall who is returning to full time racing in the Hanmore AmeriCar Road Racing Series. Kris Wascher is coming off a successful Aspira Juniors campaign while Dima Van Hall is coming off a Spa GP drive.

"Kris and I felt that he needed the most help on his road course driving. Pairing him with a 15 year veteran like Dima Van Hall will give him a great opportunity to learn as a road course racer." Tony said.

Finally, for car number 919, co-owner Tony Long will be paired with Sasha Sanvoy, the first ever female to drive for Tony Long Autosport. Tony Long is also coming off a successful Aspira Juniors campaign with a couple of Super Stocks starts.

The new comer, Sasha Sanvoy, is a 22 year old from Australia who signed on to the team to drive as a teammate to Dima Van Hall in the Hanmore AmeriCar Road Racing Series. Sasha is known for her time in Australian stock cars winning multiple races for small budget teams.

"Sasha and I could surprise some people. I have a Juniors win at Oulton Park and Sasha has won road course races with small budget teams in stock cars. The only problem that I might have is that I don't try to get distracted by Sasha's beauty" Tony said.

"Overall, we might be going as a major underdog to win but we could definitely prove people wrong. Dima, Kris, Sasha, the Carpant's, and myself can take a large amount of points in the endurance race" Tony Long concluded.

FIAM Engineering to scale down

Following a slow start to the 2016 season, FIAM have seen a resurgence in performances with a succession of top 10 and points finishes since the introduction of the 2016-spec FIAM chassis. Yet, continued financial difficulties plague the back-room of FIAM continuously as a result of poor road car sales and national political instability in Italy.

Reports have emerged today confirming the down-scaling of FIAMs main motorsport investment in the Dash Cup, falling from their 3 registered cars to 2 fully backed seats.

Franco Giovanardi, on the back of his first full season in 2016 and a masterclass performance in the 2015 EuroV8 Cup, is set to rejoin the squad in 2017 with the #15 car while rumor continues to encircle the teams second car. Mireille Allain has seen an up-turn in luck this season performing as the most consistent driver in the team and appears the most likely candidate with Vincenzo Fochesato closely linked to a move with front-runner squad ATK Racing while Karjala Grand Prix winner and Volpi Racing driver, Alessandro Rossini, has also been linked to a move back to the organisation which kick-started his career in junior formulae, seen recently at the FIAM testing facility south of Como.

The 3rd car used by FIAM in the 2016 season will head towards Italian Touring Car front-runners Euroteam who have secured 3 national teams titles in 6 years representing FIAM as a manufacturer. Alessio Fabiani is set to represent the team following a strong touring car debut in 2015 and 2016 in the EV8 Cup and ITCC series respectively.

Lycoia International Motorsport Enterprises plans no changes the roster or the numbers. However a sponsor change is announced.

The team plans to re-enter their two primary drivers, Ashley Ambercroft and Sakura Motoko. However, it's been announced that Ambercroft will have Phoenix Performance as her primary sponsor. This was due to the brand demanding more exposure and that the race announcer kept confusing the two drivers due to inverted paint schemes. The team plans to reuse the numbers of 40 and 41 respectively.

Greg Woodard plans to return on a limited basis in the 96 Frozr Graphics Lycoia.

Octan Energy leaves MAM completely after 2016; new sponsor for Matthews coming

The sponsorship merry-go-round continues to spin at Matthews Atlantic Motorsports.

Octan Energy, which sponsors Kellan Rogers-Ashby this season, announced just prior to the Spa GP that it would leave the 90 team after the season and not return to the series, citing expanded sponsorship commitments in the TM Master Cup and FARC series, where the company has signed on to be the official fuel provider.

MAM announced it has signed on renowned racing simulator product RaceSim to sponsor the 22-year-old Canadian driver, who is in the midst of the worst season of her four-year Dash Cup career.

Also leaving MAM is RC Cola, who will depart the 06 team of Ryan Matthews, citing a change in philosophy in the marketing department. German beer maker Pisswasser, who sponsored Matthews in a partial FARC schedule in 2015, will sign on to the 06 for 2017.

Ren-Ran/FAC Autosport plan to expand to 2 full-time cars in 2017, new team could have multiple drivers; Rantanen to remain full-time in what could be final full season

2017 plans on being step two in Ren-Ran/FAC Autosport's expansion.  The Miko Rantanen and Hans Rennfahrer owned team, partnered with Frank Azure owned FAC Motorsports plan on expanding to two full-time teams next season, while Azure himself continues to run the 46 part-time.  Although Rantanen is expected to remain in his full-time spot in the 777, the team has expressed interest in running multiple drivers in the yet to be numbered car.  As for who would drive the new entry, most likely current Aspira Juniors driver and Rantanen's son, Tahvo Rantanen could be one of the drivers.  One reason this could the case is that there are rumors circulating that 2017 could be the senior Rantanen's final full-time season and that having Tahvo run a few races could be a way to prep him to succeed his father.

Rantanen, who would be 40 in January, has whispered the possibility of stepping down from racing to focus on Tahvo's carear, but neither him, nor the team, has commented on the retirement rumors.

Fochesato Uncertain of Plans for 2017

Dash Cup Pirelli Super Stocks Series racer Vincenzo Fochesato has been facing uncertainty about his future amid reports that FIAM Engineering will be downsizing to two cars for the 2017 season. The sophomore racer has thus far failed to match the results that he produced as a rookie, and is rumored to be left out of the reduced driver lineup at the end of the year.

“It’s a difficult situation, but it happens all the time in racing, unfortunately” said the Italian to the press. “As a business FIAM sees it in their best interests to scale down our program a little and it would be rather foolish for me to be critical of that. But that being said it is disappointing that all three of us as drivers won’t be here next year. I love working with them and everybody at this team, but as I said that’s the nature of the business of auto racing.”

Franco Giovanardi, who while running a limited schedule earned FIAM a victory in 2014, is contending his first full-time season in Dash Cup, and is thus far the only driver confirmed to return next year. The remaining seat is rumored to go to either Fochesato, Mireille Allain, who is currently in her second year with the team, or Alessandro Rossini, the Karjala Grand Prix winner who may be making a return to the Como-based operation. While Fochesato has not been ruled out as a candidate, the team is reportedly favoring the Frenchwoman Allain.

“At this point the team is working to determine who will pilot the second car, and I certainly hope that they will chose whoever they feel will be most beneficial to the program. Whether or not their plans involve me driving for them is their choice to make and I will respect whatever decision that they come to, but no matter what I hope that they find even greater success down the road!”

It has yet to be announced whether the third Dash Cup team whose efforts will be sent towards the Italian Touring Car Championship will be that of the #14, currently piloted by Allain, or the #75, piloted by Fochesato. It is also unknown at this point whether CSM Gruppo, an associate sponsor of FIAM Engineering who has sponsored Fochesato in his FARC outings since 2014, will continue to provide sponsorship for him in any capacity should he not return.

Master Sport Motorsport adds MS Pro to the mix.
Enrico Lysipadas is part of Master Sport Pro as of now. However, no driver has been called to run in the second car.
Master Sport Motorsports:
Kiara K. Tsakumoti is currently the only driver confirmed to ride in car number 1 for MSM. Kasten Rosengard possibly joining MSM for 2017 may be likely, and he is currently the only driver pinged for car number two in MSM.

Despite a Recent DNQ, Aric Wolff Plans To Run 2017 Dash Cup Series

Former World Challenge Cup driver Aric Wolff is exploring 2017 options for Dash Cup. Despite recently a DNQ from the Spa GP, Wolff is eager to find a home, whether it's with his own team or not. Wolff, who won a World Challenge Cup race at Road America and holds the fastest lap record for a Lenard at the Nurburgring, is confident in finding a ride before the green flag drops on the 2017 season.

Master Sport Motorsports/Racing has their 4th driver ready to suit up for the 2017 season.
Ingrid Jane Ambleton, an ambitious 17 year-old will take her quick paced thinking to Dash Cup 2017. Born of Chester, England, the English woman was tabbed to drive the number 77 or 78 car after impressing MSM officials at Brands Hatch during a testing of a recent unveiling of the Dach GT4 (fictional car). She placed second in the test race of 20 drivers and was able to use her abilities to outhink her opponents, even when her pit crew failed her. "She will be a good use to the team" Breggium Antutonnen stated. "I am growing rather fond of this young woman each and every step I take with her. I feel she'll be a very good attribute to some of the fierce competitors on the Dash Cup schedule."

Time will only tell how this bright young English woman will do.

Gabriel Macena Racing announces full 2017 lineup

As silly season rumors rage onto the new year, Gabriel Macena Racing puts rest to their, as the full confirmed lineup of the team for the 2017 main series is announced.

Gabriel Macena announcing his retirement caught most racing pundits out of left field, as there was no formal announcement, only Macena himself stating "I'm retiring as a driver from Dash Cup".  It is unknown which will be Macena's fate in the future, as there are rumors of a Master Cup seat for him, although not much has developed on that front.

The team itself will run a juggernaut 4 car lineup, all cars full-time, two of those cars with more than one driver behind the wheel. Once again the team will use Lenards, staying with the R37 model.

The team's marquee #71 will be one of the cars with shared lineups as PART/NAAC driver Rebecca Pellerin will share the vehicle with german touring car driver Alexis Flater. Flater is a former TM Europe driver, without having a lot of success himself, finding a lot of difficulty to adapt with those cars.

According to Macena regarding the driver choices for the #71 car: "Pellerin was approached by my wife Julia around the latter part of 2016, and we agreed upon a shared schedule, so she could run at least the first few races of the NAAC season and then the last 10, which are the ones that do not conflict with Dash Cup. Flater is a reliable driver that can bring the car home and we don't think he'll have a lot of difficulty adapting to this type of car."

The #31 car will be shared by the team's Aspira Juniors drivers, Siána Jones and Alessandro Benini who will stay in the secondary championship for a additional year, as according to the team owner: "They've been groomed not by us but by a World Sportscar Championship team for a long time, and they want to sign them in soon, right now we are only helping them to get trained and improved, it's a profitable relationship for both us and the drivers."

The #13 car will be driven by Luc Pellerin who gave the team's first emotional win at EuroSpeedway, the race that was marred by the crash that incapacitated the other team's driver Ross Carter, now a scout for the team. Pellerin will retain the Cicero sponsorship in the car. "Pellerin is a all-rounder and hopefully he can bring results just as good as those.

The team's 4th car will be driven by american Kailin Donohue, poached from STS ATK at the last possible second. Kailin will drive the brand new #74 car full-time with sponsorship to be announced. "Donohue was this close to signing with Atkins (Macena makes a sign with hands signalising the small chance that he had to sign Donohue who was dead set into joining ATK) thankfully we got to her at the last minute and gave her a one year deal she could not possibly refuse. The girl is a future star of the sport and you can only expect great thing for her."

After being asked about the reason why he retired from Dash Cup competition by a italian reporter, Macena simply said "Shut up eat a bag of dicks".

The hopes and the bar are set up way high for Gabriel Macena Racing and only the future will tell what can happen to the team in 2017.

Manufacturer: Lenard
Model: R37

Team Lineup

#13 - Luc Pellerin - Cicero
#31 - Siána Jones/Alessandro Benini - Owens

I've gone through the thread and added the accepted entries to the TMPedia chart: http://tmpedia.shoutwiki.com/wiki/2017_Dash_Cup_season

There are still a few entries I'm expecting to see back from 2016, so this isn't a final chart.

Carpant Brothers Secure Sponsor for 2017

For brothers Romain and Olivier Carpant, they almost went sponsorless for 2017, until today.

Today, the Carpant announced that Paris based energy company Areva will sponsor both Romain and Olivier Carpant for the 2017 season.

"Areva was very gracious to us" Tony Long said. "They will bring in even more supporters for Romain on the return race to France and for Olivier during his Aspira Juniors campaign."

One Small team to field a car for 2017 Dash Cup as a possible full-time entry? + A part time entry from Alexa Lake?
18 year old Peter Yalekk, of Maury, Oklahoma, criticized by many to be a hot head will run his own gimmick of a team, dubbed "Yalekk Enterprises. 'Fortunately for him, he's also very good at road course racing.

He's undecided when it comes to whether he'll be part time or full, but if he goes part-time, only road courses will be his specialty.

"I feel like road courses are my specialty. I've got a big enough ego to win a few races, and steal the championship" -Yalekk in a press-review on the 7th of February.

With words like that, only time, money, and driver capabilities will tell. Will drivers learn to deal with his ever-growing pretentious-ness and brash personality?
