(LDS) "Visitable" Night Vale 100 Pre-Race
Qualifying Results
Of the many surprises from qualifying at the Randy Newman Memorial Night Vale Airport (and the town of Night Vale in general), one of the biggest was FARC Lowe Dollar Series points leader Rick Forest's failure to time his way into the 57-lap feature.
Forest has been battling illness all weekend, coming down with a case of throat spiders that seems to have affected his performance. This illness, coupled with the short-track regular's lack of road course experience, resulted in a 33rd-place qualifying result out of 42 entries. After failing to receive one of the Wild Card spots, the Rick Forest Racing team will be sent home early, leaving his points lead extremely vulnerable to an attack from Team Thunder's Bob Stephans, who qualified 6th after coming into the weekend 25 points behind Forest.
Mark Thompson also surprisingly failed to time his way into the race, qualifying 34th in his first attempt of the season for the Freya & Saito team, one spot behind Rick Forest. However, Wild Card recipient Billy Wayne Klinger elected to step out of his seat and allow Thompson to take over his independent #01 carafter receiving a decent check from RON Oil out of the goodness of his heart. How generous.
Returning to the FARC tour this week are two former staples of the series; Bryan George and George Bryan of The Doppelgang, and Zachary Zins. Zins, who now resides in Night Vale and broadcasts his internet radio show from his trailer in the Scrublands, made his last start in the 2015 season finale at Chicagoland Speedway, finishing 6th in the race won by Taylor Brillon. The Doppelgang's last appearance was back in 2014, and neither they nor Zins have missed a beat, with George and Bryan qualifying 5th and 7th, respectively, and Zins qualifying 8th.
The man/woman/being who claims to be The Doppelgang's team owner scrawled a press release on the side of the concessions stand in an ambiguous red substance, informing/warning race fans and rivals alike of their "innovative race strategy. Seriously, you will never see this coming. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha."
Not to editorialize, but this writer thinks that maybe those who have failed to qualify are better off. Just a hunch.

Trueman Ellison at Night Vale, albeit not entered
Trueman Ellison did not enter the Visitable Night Vale 100, however he was spotted in Night Vale, for unknown reasons, apparently attempting to say hi to dogs and buying flowers. More on this eventually......probably.

Ruiz set for another rebound race
After "losing" to his brother, Timothy Ruiz seem to be very angry not only with his position but with his car, calling over the radio "a living piece of (explicit) car that is a brick", even though he qualified 17th on the grid. Ryan Ruiz and Linda Paul said that Ruiz have been fuming since last week's race. They also told us that Xavier kept bragging on beating his brother, even though both wrecked out. This might have lit a fire in his soul. A fire that he proclaimed "That won't go out until I absolutely DESTROY my brother", which mean we're going a pissed off Ruiz in FU mode the whole season, so expect Ruiz to put up crazy highlights and crazy radio communication. They even admitted they never seen Timothy this way, so this might be foreign for everyone involved.

Rick Forest struck down with major illness
Misfortune befell points leader Rick Forest, who despite being heavily sickened, tried to qualify anyways. He failed to qualify for the race, and after his attempt, collapsed to the ground unconscious. He was rushed to a hospital, and RFR packed up, confused and dazed. Rick Forest has regained consciousness, but due to his illness, he will miss at least 3 races. The team has decided to put fellow racer and cousin Dominic Forest behind the wheel until Forest recovers. Ryan Forest will take immediate control of all team operations in the meantime. "Flying" Ryan said that despite Rick being hospitalized until further notice, that the team will work just as hard in his absence.
