NASCAR @ Daytona
NASCAR returns to Daytona for its annual Independence Day weekend race. Fan favorite, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. looks to defend his win. Austin Dillon won last year's Xfinity Series event who ended up in the catchfence the day afterwards.

Looks like we will be dodging raindrops for the 3rd consecutive year. Goody.

Another hard lick for Kyle Busch at Daytona during practice earlier today.

Great finish for Sieg, hearing Ryan Ellis summoned medical attention...no word on what his condition or someone he is worried about.
UPDATE: Ryan Ellis being treated for dehydration

Pretty crashtacular Xfinity race with a "for what purpose" finish.

Ryan Ellis is okay. Says that they should have kept it green not for safety of drivers or asked for assistance out of his car

*slow clap*
Jimmie turned McMurray, McMurray saved it then he turned him again.
I like you, Jimmie, but come the fuck on. That was ridiculous.

I really hope Logano turned Kurt on accident but ehh since nothing has been said about it by now...I guess nothing was intentional there

Reject of the race:
Nothing
But
Commercials
On to Kentucky, but wait me up when we get to Watkins Glen.

If that's the trade-off for actual competent commentary then so be it.
Ok race. Glad it wasn't the typical superspeedway murderfest.

Best thing of the race: NBC's coverage
Worst thing of the race: I don't really know... it was a decent race.

I can't find the tweet, but I read that roughly 46% of laps were under commercial. Great production and commentary doesn't mean anything if you ain't going to use it.f1fan12 wrote:Best thing of the race: NBC's coverage

This. The coverage, when it wasn't on commercial, wasn't all that bad (better than watching the Waltrips making goofs out of themselves, Joy, Hammond, McReynolds, and Myers going along with it, and Jeff Gordon more than likely internally facepalming over it), it's pretty damn sad when nearly half the race was ran while the commercials were on (and I'm sure not counting yellow flag laps make much of a difference).

Re: NASCAR @ Daytona
There were multiple instances where they would only go 3 laps and then go back to commercials. Happened at least 4 times.
