Favorite/Least Favorite NR Tracks to Race On
I'd made a thread like this back in January of 2014. Since it's been a little less than two and a half years since then, I figure there's no harm in bringing up this subject again to see if anyone's opinions have changed since then, and to give some of the newer members a chance to express their opinions.
Quite simply, list some of your favorite/least favorite NR tracks to race, either online or offline.
Favorites
Generally, anywhere I feel like I can consistently be competitive, or I just like the dynamics of the track that make it fun to drive. This includes:
-Rockingham
-Iowa
-Michigan
-Daytona (Mostly because I have a win here that Leckliter doesn't. )
-Daytona Short Track
-Indianapolis (Still super bummed I missed F5 running here)
-Darlington
-Martinsville
-Homestead
-Watkins Glen
-Road America
-Fire Mountain
Least Favorites
-Bristol (Seriously, screw this racetrack)
-CTMP
-Loudon (Sorry Joe)
-Phoenix
-Fontana
-Sonoma
-1.5 mile D-ovals, such as Chicagoland (Sorry Cooper), Las Vegas, Kansas, and Kentucky.
-Most restrictor-plate superspeedways that aren't Daytona. The pack racing dynamic got old after a while.
Feel free to post your own personal favorite and least favorite tracks!

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite NR Tracks to Race On
Favorites:
- Long Beach
- Karjala
- Rio
- USA Intenational (hi Ben )
- Milwaukee
- Road America
- Edenvale
- Bikernieki ()
- Toronto
- Indianapolis
- Grand Detour
- Darlington
- Paris
- Suzuka
- Atlanta 97
- Most versions of Homestead
- Both versions of Valkenberg (the track I called Vnukovo Airport)
- Tula
Prolly a few I forgot.
Least Favorites:
- Daytona
- Daytona Road Course
- Talladega
- Any version of Watkins Glen that has paved runoffs
- Cookie cutter D-ovals
- Superspeedways
- Bowman Gray
- Yas Marina (a lot of the textures have a strobe effect -- big no-no)
- Any "superspeedway road courses"
- Any "speedway road courses"
- The first version of Zone 7 that I had working awhile ago because the straights were too damn short!!
- Martinsville
- The 0.8 version of Duluth which I thankfully never released.
No argument from me on either of those bullets. I don't like running at Chicagoland in anything but .cts physics. Even then there's other tracks I'd rather run on.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite NR Tracks to Race On
All-Time Favorites
1) Indianapolis Raceway Park
2) Nazareth Speedway
3) Darlington Raceway
Other Favorites
I went extremely overboard on this (as I tend to do), but I find enjoyment in ordering and organizing. If anyone really wants to analyze these then I ordered every track that I thought of as a personal favorite (the list happened to be 55 tracks), and also split the list into track types.
Least Favorites
These only refer to tracks on which I do not enjoy driving, regardless of whether they're well-made or produce races that are fun to watch.

- Overall:
- 1) Shanghai (I tend not to like tracks with lots of sharp corners and no "flow" to them, and I feel that no two turns anywhere throughout the layout of this circuit meet my personal definition of "flowing")
2) Van Zandt
3) Circuit of the Americas
4) Sonoma (circa 2002 NASCAR layout)
5) Fontana (despite its similar appearance to MIS, its differences are enough to make me a crash-waiting-to-happen)
6) Richmond (cannot enter the turns, cannot exit, I've never been able to figure it out)
7) Dover
8) Texas Motor Speedway (have never been good on corner exit, here)
9) Barbagallo
10) Twin Ring Motegi (despite liking Darlington and Gateway, this track feels different to me, and I don't enjoy driving on it very much)
11) Eldora (one of my favorite tracks on which to watch races, but I don't drive well on it)
12) Lime Rock Park (I know that everyone loves this track but for whatever reason I've never taken a great liking to it and can't seem to drive well on it)

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite NR Tracks to Race On
I don't understand why people don't like Bristol. It is one of my favorite tracks, as it is one the few short tracks where you can carry any resemblance of speed through the corners. And it has always been fun to drive on whether on NR2003, Nascar 08, Nascar 14, and pretty much any other game.
