Ruiz in attendance at Texas
Timothy Ruiz was at Texas Motor Speedway this week, but not on track, but in the grandstands. Ruiz and his naming partner Linda Paul bought tickets to both races. When asked why he bought tickets, he said "So I can try to stay out of the championship contenders. I don't want to be known as a backmarker like Team Burr."
Paul, as you recall lost her voice and using sign language to speak, says "Ruiz is a guy who don't want to be a joke, he can be brash on track, but off track, he's a nice guy" Her translator is surprisingly not Ruiz, but sign language expert and her Dad, Rex Paul.
Ruiz is still planning on attempting his FARC debut at the Vicker Collision & Glass Double

- Spoiler:
- Ironically, one of the Burr cars qualified for the FARC-off, which makes Ruiz comment a bit hilarious

- Spoiler:
- Tauger alright after hard crash, Meyato scores top-10 in 2nd race of the week.
After slamming into the back of Kenny George III, Treck Tauger limped away from the wreckage. When asked about the wreck, he had this to say: "Well, I've had better races...this was not one of them. Just gald that everyone was okay."
Dan Meyato manages to finish 7th in the second race of the week, but not without getting involved in an incident with Kyler Spavital which ended up leading to George Hawkins getting T-boned by Ashley Tucker. "[Kyler] Spavital and [George] Hawkins, if you're watching this then I'll be more than willing to pay for your repair bills." Meyato said during his interview.
Because of Meyato's strong runs in his few starts, there are rumors that Freya and Saito might sign Meyato onto the rest of the races that were scheduled for their 462 entry.

- Spoiler:
- Pacer, Jonesport Achieve Spot in FARC-Off
Joshua Pacer arrived at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend outside of the top 30 in points in the FARC Smash Beer/Lowe Dollar Series.
He leaves the speedway ranked seventh, and in contention for the championship title.
FARC's implementation of their new ASCC Chase-esque elimination points system (dubbed the "FARC-Off") for the 2016 season has redefined the what it means to fight for the title. Pacer only made six starts out of a possible twelve by the conclusion of the AXXELerating America Twin 76s, but points no longer matter as they did before. Under the FARC-Off, winning races - be it one, two, or ten - is now of utmost importance; points are only a fail-safe to fall back on if you don't.
This is a fact of which Pacer has taken full advantage. With a fast car, good strategy, and enough luck to avoid crashing, he took a surprise victory at Albuquerque Speedbowl early in the season. His spot in the playoffs was made official at the drop of the checkered flag in Race 2, in which he finished fifth. The first words over his radio following the finish were, "[expletive] yeah! We're going for the championship!"
The team for which the 24-year-old drives, Jonesport, is just as unlikely of a title contender as a team as Pacer is as a driver. The small Wyoming-based operation has shown great strength despite low funding, but with limited resources was unable to prepare efforts for the next two races in time to enter its car #88. Fortunately, its driver will not be without a ride, as Pacer was offered a seat in car #83 for Desert Star Motorsports. Pacer and DSM will be teaming up temporarily for the races at New Hampshire and Watkins Glen in the coming weeks.
Pacer is by no means the only surprise name on the list of contenders. Six of the fifteen drivers who made the FARC-Off, in fact, aren't running the full season schedule. In addition, of the ten race winners who are in the playoffs, seven of them had never won prior to this season. With such an inexperienced and unfamiliar group of drivers and so much at stake over the course of the next three races, there's no telling as to what will transpire during the Round of 15 and who will make it to the Round of 10 come Quincy.
Hold on to your seats.
