2015 Season Update
I felt like this was needed because it's coming to mid-November and I'm not even at the halfway point of the season.
I've come to the realisation that the season I had planned at the beginning of the year is far too big of a task to complete by myself without cutting a lot of corners. I had a lot of fun tracks in the schedule, and I've run a lot of races where afterwards I've said "that was one of the best races ever!" but like Ceej said in his post on the FARC forum, I'm finding that this season isn't really what I wanted out of Dash Cup. I figured that Oval Stocks would fill in the gap but that series has honestly been a mess because I didn't really care for it. Aspira Juniors sounded like such a good idea on paper as well but I rushed into that and didn't really get what I wanted out of that either.
20 race weekends have proven to be too much for me alongside Uni and work, and it's really really shown. I found I've been making up too many storylines around the series to make the series for fun for me.
Next season, I'm probably going to return to what Dash Cup was around 2014. Around 12-14 rounds, still the 3 race format with a mix of Ovals and Road Courses. That season was a blast to run but this season, I'm just bored, and I still have so much more to do. This includes a return to the Sportsman mod, and this time they won't be made out of bamboo and glass.
I'll definitely do a full length video for Spa, but after that I might just do very short review videos. Oval Stocks will continue to have write ups (however I might not be doing these) and Aspira Juniors will continue to be mention only. Aspira Juniors will have a 2016 season but I'm almost definitely going to look to outsource that series. Oval Stocks will not be returning.
Thank you guys for sticking with me this year! One positive is that I've noticed a lot more attention towards the series which is good!

Re: 2015 Season Update
A little bit of a question, but would you guys rather me finish the season in time with making videos like this (starting after Spa), or should I try and continue the full length videos with no guarantee when I'll end the season?
I know I'd rather get to 2016 sooner, but ultimately its up to you guys.

Do the highlight vids. Those are better than no videos at all.

I say go with the former. If you're bored with the current product, the best thing to do is do away with it as soon as possible, doing full length videos with no guarantee of when this season, a season you're bored with, ends will probably not only kill your motivation, but might kill the series because you had too much on your plate. You can give yourself a bit of leeway and finish this season around late January of next year (as shown from previous Master Cup and FARC seasons).

I am a fan of the faster-paced highlight videos.

I think it's pretty much decided then. I'll do a full length video for Spa but after that I'll do the shorter, faster paced videos.

Re: 2015 Season Update
I'd go for a highlight video.
AS much as Dash Cup is great, 50 minutes for a video takes way to much time for you, and for me to watch it. lol

navycook said it pretty well; I would also prefer the highlight videos for this season!Lucstar88 wrote:I'd go for a highlight video.

And adding on to what Luc said, with 30+ minute videos, as fantastic as the races are and as greatly as the efforts made to present the excitement to us are appreciated, the time and energy that they take to produce may not be worth making them for each and every race. I discovered this community through the 10-to-25-minute TM Master Cup Series and ARLA videos (with double-length videos for special events).

No reason to exhaust yourself over a 50 minute race commentary, at that point you may just lose your voice. Highlights are perfectly fine, in-fact I used to watch those before I joined EFR earlier this year.

Aww, I like this year's cars a lot more than the old ones.
As for the videos, I'm fine with highlights.

Re: 2015 Season Update
As far as finishing this season videos, I would say make a normal one for Spa and that's about it, do some quick videos (who started on pole, who crashed, who won, results, end).

Re: 2015 Season Update
The length of the videos isnt a problem. In fact I quite like creating 50 minute video and commentating them. I just don't have the time for it, and I'm not entirely sure it's suitable for everyone, honestly.

Re: 2015 Season Update
I'm on a tight schedule as of late with school, and of course sports and such. Watching 50+ Minute videos isn't going to have a good effect on my sleep. I could watch it before I go to bed and sleep around 12:30 AM, and I don't really care if I'm in the series or not, I find the Dash Cup very interesting.
