Where's Elmer Fudd when you need him? 'Be very very quiet. NASCAR's hunting Wabbits. Huh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh.'

He would at least beat Circle Sport, and Jeb Burton.

So pessimistic Gordon predictions for this weekend?
Engine blows up or something critical to car happens on Lap 3 (Cuz Dale)
or
Loses to Keselowski off a bump and run ala 2002.

If I learned anything from 6 years of NASCAR watching, that beautiful car is going to be destroyed.

Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch on the front row for both tonight's Xfinity race and tomorrow's Cup race. Hamlin got the pole on both instances.

Barring something drastic, I think Brad Teague is going to get reject of the race. That's textbook "bad backmarker" material, with what he did the first time he got lapped.

Boy Kyle had that fall in his lap.
I'm not as Mad as I should be though cause it was more or less beyond the 60s control.

That was actually a pretty decent race for Xfinity standards though, regardless of the victor or entry list.

Am I the only one dissapointed Tony Stewart didn't try to pull anything on Logano? After all, it's a bit harder for NASCAR to come down on you for team orders when you own the team, and are thus legitimately acting in your own interests.

Re: Nascar at Bristol
My thoughts on the Irwin Tools Night Race @ Bristol:
Hm. Pretty good.
It wasn't the barnburner that I was expecting, but it was reasonably clean and we had a good battle between Harvick and Logano in those last 50 laps. I'm fairly certain that Harvick is getting a little sick of finishing second this season.
One thing that I also noticed in this race was the amount of loose wheels, more than we've seen recently. The teams have been trying to take advantage of the fact that NASCAR doesn't police that anymore in order to rip off lightning fast stops, but it bit several drivers tonight, some more than once. Just ask Jeff Gordon.
Great recovery by Jr. tonight. He had to take a wave around and two free passes, but manages to snag a 6th out of all that. That's what you have to do to win a championship: fighting through adversity.
But the chase between Harvick and Logano was definitely the best part of the race, especially when working lapped traffic, and the lead would fluctuate violently throughout the entire run, and Harvick was right there at the end to challenge, and I honestly thought he was gonna try a divebomb pass, but Logano, whether you like him or not, held him off and won his third race of the season.
Tough break for Kyle Busch, who had the dominate car all night, but a pit road speeding penalty on the last pit stop cost him a shot at the win.
Overall, a pretty good race, which is refreshing considering how the last four oval races have sucked major ass.
Final rating for the Irwin Tools Night Race @ Bristol:
Very solid race. I'll go a 7/10 for this race, continuing the streak of good ratings that Bristol has produced.
Next week, it's the Southern 500 @ Darlington. Hopefully, it won't suck like the last several runnings of the race have.

Jeff Gordon's pit crew is the worst out of any major team in NASCAR.

Just to correct you, there is no Cup race next week as it's an off-week.PackerMan71 wrote:Next week, it's the Southern 500 @ Darlington. Hopefully, it won't suck like the last several runnings of the race have.

Next week we have the fun of Road America for Xfinity and Mosport for Trucks.
I have a feeling Cuppies will be in Xfinity but I sure hope it'll still be fun.
