Darlington Paint Schemes
I figure, instead of going to the copypasta thread or what not to try and find them all, I suggest we have a thread to have all the paint schemes that will be at Darlington in a couple weeks in one thread.
Starting with this beauty that Ganassi is coming out with for Darlington.

Re: Darlington Paint Schemes
I like the #2 (the gray scheme for some reason, though the black scheme Keselowski had at Michigan was boss), #4, #17 (despite my dislike of Stenhouse), #31 and #42.

Re: Darlington Paint Schemes
The #42 car is the best one so far. The #27 looks nice too.
The #17 car could not have a more inappropriate scheme for that driver, which is to say take a good look at it, because it's probably going to crash. At least they aren't having Trevor Bayne drive a car in tribute to David Pearson's stint in the #6.
I can't figure out why the #24 team isn't running that beautiful Axalta Rainbow scheme for this race and instead going with the 3M car though... :/

Apologies for the double post, but I figure I'd do everyone a favor: Compilation of the throwback/special schemes released so far for this race, for your convenience.

Re: Darlington Paint Schemes
not going to lie, the angle of Menard's scheme makes it look like it was from NR2003

Junior's unveiling his Monday. Supposedly it's a Neil Bonnett Valvoline scheme from the 80s.

Re: Darlington Paint Schemes
I've really liked Kurt Busch's recent Stewart-Haas cars, but I've always loved the original Haas CNC scheme the best. I'm excited to see it again!kensethfan wrote:

I'll laugh if a driver not racing a throwback scheme wins lol.

For 2000's retro schemes go, though, this one will always have my vote.
Re: Darlington Paint Schemes
That also happens to be my favorite 2000's retro that's been used on a Gen 6 car (and one of my favorite schemes in general)! I was able to watch it in action during the only Cup Series race that I have attended, although the reasoning for its use was very unfortunate; I thought that it was a very nice tribute to Jason Leffler.Liam O'Brian wrote:SpeedDemon37 wrote:I've really liked Kurt Busch's recent Stewart-Haas cars, but I've always loved the original Haas CNC scheme the best. I was there too. Terrible week in remembrance as a LefTurn fan back in the day, but that car was a bright spot and at least Stewart wasn't too bad that day.

Junior won't be the only one with a Valvoline-ish throwback!

Not a car, but even Goodyear is getting into the throwback business.
Also, Xfinity schemes.

Re: Darlington Paint Schemes
I hope this becomes a yearly tradition, because so many of these schemes are so beautiful. I especially love the old 70's schemes on the current cars. Larson's has to be my favorite though.
