Ben Atkins 'dissatisfied' with early form in the 2014 season

Ben Atkins has yet to score a point in the 2014 season in TMMC, despite good qualifying efforts and good runs in the races, and despite the best efforts from Tutino, Atkins has let it be known that he is unhappy with how his season has started. By this time in 2013, Atkins had notched 3 points paying finishes, totalling up 18 points in those efforts. However, despite keeping his nose clean so far in the season; much cleaner than in 2013, he has not had the car or luck to finish in the points. Atkins finished just 2 spots out of a points paying position at Sweden in 22nd. It should be mentioned that this performance was considerably better than his team-mate, Voeckler, who did outqualify Atkins.

"We've been good in either the race, or qualifying. It's not both. It's one of the other at the moment" said Atkins, "Today, our car in the race was fast. We were faster than cars that should be massively out-performing us. If we were a couple more rows up the grid, we could have had points. Sadly, that isn't how it's gone. I can't said I'm not dissatisfied with how the season has began, because I am, but it's nothing that one good race can't overturn."

"Tutino is a brilliant team, and the recent callings of me leaving is rubbish. I'm happy with where I'm at for now. I just wish we had a little but more luck, and that we were a little bit more consistent all around."

Atkins also made a bold prediction about Karjala, predicting that, just like married couple Alexis Rainsford and Chris Davenport, that himself and wife-to-be Hannah Percy will be the second couple to both make the Karjala Grand Prix, which is the next race on the Master Cup calendar.

"The Tutino can sneak into the race, and I know that Hannah will have a fantastic car prepared for her by Atlantic. I'm very confident that both of us can make, and do well in the big race. It would be a hell of an accomplishment for both of us, but it's feasible."

The odds are against Atkins and Tutino, who both have never made the big race, but Atkins believes that 2014 is the year that is changed. Percy has also attempted the Karjala Grand Prix, last year in 2013, where she made it to the qualifying race and fell one spot short of making the main grid.
