NASCAR @ Phoenix
The NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series Championships now head to the Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona. for their penultimate races of the 2014 Season. In the Truck points standings, Matt Crafton is almost on the verge of claiming a 2nd successive title if he can hold it together. That also holds a similar situation in the Nationwide standings, as Chase Elliott leads Regan Smith by 48 points heading into Phoenix, so as long as Elliott can hold it all together for the whole race, he can pull it off and clinch the championship this weekend. In the Cup Series standings, it looks as if Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman could safely go through to Homestead. For Jeff Gordon, he is 4th but in danger of not making it as Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick are all in the drop zone and desperately need some luck and pace to take advantage. After Texas, I feel this could be a pretty exciting weekend of Racing.

I'm gonna say Crafton needs to leave with a 32 point lead to clinch.
The Nationwide series is game over.
Bold prediction that the final four is gonna be Hamlin, Logano, Newman, Edwards

NASCAR isn't getting out of this without a hit to the PR.
Either they suspend him and get yelled at for double standards (they didn't suspend Travis Kvapil when he got arrested for the same thing) or don't suspend him and look bad.
I'd go for the former if I were NASCAR you'd take less of a hit in PR.

Travis Kvapil took a plea deal, getting anger management classes along with community service, and the charges were Dismissed. That's why NASCAR didn't do anything,
Re: NASCAR @ Phoenix
Different time as well. With domestic violence in sports at the forefront these days (thanks, National Felon League™), it's probably in NASCAR's best interest to keep a close eye on this situation.

The claim is that Kurt smashed his ex's head against a wall three times. If that's true, his career is in enormous jeopardy.

While there isn't alot of actual information to go through yet, I can't help but find all these allegations questionable.
- They are broken up (which has supposedly took place before this incident) yet she is in his motorhome. What reason did she having doing there?
- She's in charge of that Armed Forces Foundation (which ironically has suspended their association with Kurt as soon as these allegations were made. Coincidence?).
- She wants a restraining order on a driver that broke up with her (which is what you normally would do if you were the one that broke up the relationship and your Ex was stalking you or following you).
- She comes out with these allegations 6 weeks after this supposed incident. Why not come out sooner, like right after it happened or at least a day or two after instead of 6 weeks?
Just comes off to me as some angry Ex who wants money and is making up an elaborate roost just to get it and even tries to exploit Kurt's past anger (Requesting a restraining order and going to a anger management) to further extend her gain.

TMZ reporting that Patricia waited to file the police report because she told Kurt she wouldn't if he had anger management counseling. Also, Patricia is independetly wealthy, and probably doesn't want/need Kurt's money.

Dumb and Dumber is sponsoring BK Racing. How appropriate for a team that ran David Reutimann and Travis Kvapil for two years.
Re: NASCAR @ Phoenix
So Dumb and Dumber (not sure which driver is dumb and which is dumber since that's the dumbest team of all), will finish at least 3 laps down for the faster car and 6 or so for the slower car, cause that's exactly the kind of promotion you want for a movie...

Actually, one of them will drive a 6th of the race in the wrong direction. The other will yell at them before proceeding to let them know they totally redeemed themselves.

There is a difference between rubbins' racin' and driving through somebody. Newman attempt to drive through a solid object aka Larson.

Bad news: Gordon's title hopes are over.
Good news: Any four of these contenders mean a new Cup champion, free Bloomin' Onions on Monday, and THE NEWMAN CHAMPIONSHIP BID IS STILL ALIVE!
Seriously, I hate it for Gordon, but this Chase format is so messed up it doesn't really matter. Go get 'em, Newman. And good win, Harvick.

Well, last race before the finale, if you have to wreck someone, you have to, NASCAR just became win (altough I use the term win very loosely) or die.

Well, I'm sure Larson would've gotten over it now. He'd understand why Newman made that move.
