NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Backmarker Thu Dec 27, 2012 7:09 am

There will be more added to this post later.

Teams with at least one full-time car:

Penske Racing (Ford)
#2- Brad Keselowski- Miller Lite
#12- Will Power (R)- Verizon
#22- Joey Logano- Shell/Pennzoil

Will Power finally wins the Indycar championship in 2014 and decides to move to NASCAR, taking the Verizon sponsorship with him. Verizon is able to circumvent the cellular provider ban by advertising their home phone, internet, and TV services.
Joey Logano finally breaks out in Cup in 2014, securing his future with Penske.

Richard Childress Racing (Chevrolet)
#3 Austin Dillon- McDonald's/Rheem/Bass Pro Shops
#31 Kurt Busch- Caterpillar
Earnhardt-Ginassi and RCR merge after 2013. The #29 team becomes the #3 team and merges with the EGR #1 team, with Dillon moving up to Cup as planned. Kurt Busch is signed to the #31 for a year to keep Ty's seat warm.

Hendrick Motorsports (Chevrolet)
#5- Kasey Khane- Farmers Insurance/Drive to End Hunger
#48- Jimmie Johnson- Lowes
#88- Dale Earnhardt Jr.- Target

Jeff Gordon retires after the 2014 season. After their primary sponsors reduce their #of races, the #5 and #24 teams merge, with Farmers and DTEH both sponsoring the car. The National Guard leaves NASCAR after 2013, but Target moves over from Earnhardt-Ginassi to fill the gap.

Roush-Fenway Racing (Ford)
#6- Trevor Bayne (R)- 3M
#17- Ricky Stenhouse Jr.- Aflac/Subway/UPS
#99 Carl Edwards- Fastenal

Trevor Bayne finally runs his first full season in cup after Roush does not renew Greg Biffle's contract. The #17 loses its sponsorship yet again, and a few of the #99's part-time sponsors have to take over. Edwards wins his first championship in 2013, but that doesn't really affect much.

Team Menard (Chevrolet)
#7- Robby Gordon (Part Time)- Speed Energy/Menards
#27- Paul Menard- Menards

After supporting Robby's team throughout its history, Paul Menard buys RGM and Paul comes over to the team, allowing it to run full time again. Robby continues to run part time to focus on his non-NASCAR ventures, but continues to help run the team.

Richard Petty Motorsports (Dodge)
#9 Michael Annett - Pilot/Flying J
#43 Juan Pabloe Montoya- Smithfield

Dodge returns in 2015, although not as competitive as in years past. Marcos Ambrose decides to leave NASCAR after 2013 despite winning his first oval races and making the chase. Michael Annett returns after joining the Cup series in 2014. Montoya moves over here as well after EGR closes.

Stewart-Haas Racing (Chevrolet)
#10 Danica Patrick- GoDaddy
#14 Tony Stewart- Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1
#29 Kevin Harvick/ Budweiser/Quicken Loans

Newman does not return to SHR and the #39 team becomes Harvick's #29 team, contrary to rumors of the team having 4 full-time cars. Not much else changes here.

Joe Gibbs Racing (Toyota)
#11 Denny Hamlin- FedEx
#18 Elliott Sadler- M&Ms
#20 Matt Kenseth- Dollar General

Hamlin wins his first championship in 2014. Kyle is surprisingly not retained after 2013, supposedly at the request of the #18's sponsors. Sadler takes over his ride, and is competitive but wins few races. After steadily decreasing its participation, Home Depot leaves NASCAR after 2013, with Dollar General taking over the #20 for the whole season.

Michael Waltrip Racing (Toyota)
#15 Clint Bowyer- Five Hour Energy
#55 Brian Vickers- Aaron's
#56 Martin Truex Jr.- NAPA
#00 Michael Waltrip (Part Time)- Aaron's

Vickers goes to the #55 full time in 2014 as expected, and Waltrip continues to overstay his welcome in NASCAR. Not much else to say here.

Wood Brothers Racing (Ford)
#21 Aric Almirola- Motorcraft

BK Racing (Dodge)
#23 AJ Allmendinger- Burger King
#83 Michael McDowell- Burger King

Turner Motorsports (Toyota)
#30 James Buescher (R)- Great Clips/Exide/Duroline
Turner moves up to Cup with Toyota, taking Buescher with them.

FAS Lane Racing (Ford)
#32 Pay drivers

Front Row Motorsports (Toyota)
#34 Landon Cassil
#38 Scott Speed

Tommy Baldwin Racing (Chevrolet)
#36 David Reutimann- Various Sponsors

Dave Blaney retires after 2013 to focus on his son's career.

JTG Daughtery Racing (Dodge)
#47 Cole Whitt- An absolute sh!tton of sponsors

2014 Rookie of the Year Whitt returns.

Phoenix Racing (Dodge)
#51 Travis Kvapil

Kyle Busch Motorsports (Toyota)
#54 Kyle Busch- Monster Eenrgy

Kyle brings his team to Cup after getting booted from Gibbs. It doesn't work out that well.

Furniture Row Racing (Dodge)
#78 Jamie McMurray- Furniture Row

R3 Motorsports (Multiple Manufacturers)
#03 Casey Mears/Robert Richardson Jr. -North Texas Pipe

Surprisingly, they're still around, with Mears moving over from the dissolved Germain team and driving everything except the plate races, with some guy nobody's ever heard of driving those races.

Ambrose leaving NASCAR to go back to V8's (I presume that's where you assume he goes) is less likely than Danica winning a Championship. Michael Annett returns after joining the Cup series in 2014. Joey Logano finally breaks out in Cup in 2014, securing his future with Penske.

I doubt that Penske would a). move Will Power, b). screw over Hornish if he's going to re-expand to three cars, and c). be able to get around the contractual ban on other providers.

Richard Childress Racing (Chevrolet)
#3 Austin Dillon- McDonald's/Rheem/Bass Pro Shops
#31 Kurt Busch- Caterpillar
Earnhardt-Ginassi and RCR merge after 2013. The #29 team becomes the #3 team and merges with the EGR #1 team, with Dillon moving up to Cup as planned. Kurt Busch is signed to the #31 for a year to keep Ty's seat warm.

If this were to happen, I'd figure it'd be a buyout as opposed to a merger. I would also hope Childress would be smarter than to hire Kurt Busch, even for one season. After all the run-ins Childress and the Busch brothers have had, it seems like having the fox guard the hen house.

The most plausible, although I don't know if AARP would want a "younger" (read: baby-faced as hell) driver like Kahne vs. an older guy like JJ or Junior. I would also see Pepsi upping their sponsorship if necessary. Lord knows they have cash to spend.

Wut.

Richard Petty Motorsports (Dodge)

#43 Juan Pabloe Montoya- Smithfield

Dodge returns in 2015, although not as competitive as in years past. Marcos Ambrose decides to leave NASCAR after 2013 despite winning his first oval races and making the chase. Michael Annett returns after joining the Cup series in 2014. Montoya moves over here as well after EGR closes.

I highly doubt this scenario, with the possible exception of Dodge maybe returning. Maybe Annett gets the 43, that's possible.

Stewart-Haas Racing (Chevrolet)
#10 Danica Patrick- GoDaddy
#14 Tony Stewart- Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1
#29 Kevin Harvick/ Budweiser/Quicken Loans

Newman does not return to SHR and the #39 team becomes Harvick's #29 team, contrary to rumors of the team having 4 full-time cars. Not much else changes here.

This makes sense.

Brian Scott has a better chance of winning the 2014 Sprint Cup than this scenario does playing out.

Michael Waltrip Racing (Toyota)
#15 Clint Bowyer- Five Hour Energy
#55 Brian Vickers- Aaron's
#56 Martin Truex Jr.- NAPA
#00 Michael Waltrip (Part Time)- Aaron's

Vickers goes to the #55 full time in 2014 as expected, and Waltrip continues to overstay his welcome in NASCAR. Not much else to say here.

Wood Brothers Racing (Ford)
#21 Aric Almirola- Motorcraft

BK Racing (Dodge)
#23 AJ Allmendinger- Burger King
#83 Michael McDowell- Burger King

If Bayne does go to Roush at some point, I guess Almirola would be a good fit.

Turner Motorsports (Toyota)
#30 James Buescher (R)- Great Clips/Exide/Duroline
Turner moves up to Cup with Toyota, taking Buescher with them.

I'm not sure of that, but I honestly can't say it's impossible.

FAS Lane Racing (Ford)
#32 Pay drivers

Front Row Motorsports (Toyota)
#34 Landon Cassil
#38 Scott Speed

Tommy Baldwin Racing (Chevrolet)
#36 David Reutimann- Various Sponsors

Dave Blaney retires after 2013 to focus on his son's career.

JTG Daughtery Racing (Dodge)
#47 Cole Whitt- An absolute sh!tton of sponsors

2014 Rookie of the Year Whitt returns.

Provided LOLbonte retires by then.

Phoenix Racing (Dodge)
#51 Travis Kvapil

Maybe.

Kyle Busch Motorsports (Toyota)
#54 Kyle Busch- Monster Eenrgy

Kyle brings his team to Cup after getting booted from Gibbs. It doesn't work out that well.

If he's gonna bring up KBM, it's so big brother can putz around in the back.

Furniture Row Racing (Dodge)
#78 Jamie McMurray- Furniture Row

R3 Motorsports (Multiple Manufacturers)
#03 Casey Mears/Robert Richardson Jr. -North Texas Pipe

Surprisingly, they're still around, with Mears moving over from the dissolved Germain team and driving everything except the plate races, with some guy nobody's ever heard of driving those races.

Interesting choices. I see some of it as really plausible and other stuff not so much.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Rykia Thu Dec 27, 2012 9:22 pm

I remember someone on SRD starting one of these a while back. Had it mostly done, so I tweaked it for this since some more things had been revealed about 2013, so here is my 2015 NSCS Chart:

Earnhardt/Ganassi Racing - Chevrolet SS
1 - Jamie McMurray
42 - Juan Pablo Montoya

Both drivers are still with the team, as they improve from dismal 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Penske Racing - Ford Fusion
2 - Brad Keselowski
12 - Ryan Blaney
22 - Sam Hornish, Jr.

Penske dumps Logano after continuous dissapointments and replaces him with Hornish. Penske also opens up their third team once again for Ryan Blaney.

Richard Childress Racing - Chevrolet SS
3 - Austin Dillon
27 - Paul Menard
29 - Ryan Newman
33 - Ty Dillon (PT)

Jeff Burton expectedly retires and is replaced by Austin Dillon in 2014, changing from #31 to #3. No real changes from 2014 to 2015. Ty Dillon runs a part time #33.

Hendrick Motorsports - Chevrolet SS
5 - Kasey Kahne
24 - Regan Smith
48 - Jimmie Johnson
88 - Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Jeff Gordon retires after 2014, and Regan Smith takes his place. Jimmie Johnson, despite not winning a championship since 2010, signs a lifetime contract with Hendrick.

Richard Petty Motorsports - Ford Fusion
9 - Michael Annett -R-
43 - Aric Almirola

Ambrose in time leaves to go to another team, and Annett moves up due to running well in the Nationwide Series and sponsorship. Almirola still with the team.

Stewart-Haas Racing - Chevrolet SS
10 - Danica Patrick
14 - Tony Stewart
39 - Kevin Harvick

Newman leaves and is replaced by Harvick, as expected. Danica steps back down to the Nationwide Series in 2014 after realizing she isn't ready, and returns in 2015.

Joe Gibbs Racing - Toyota Camry
11 - Denny Hamlin
18 - Kyle Busch
19 - Brian Vickers
20 - Matt Kenseth

Kenseth coming off of a second championship in 2014, remains with JGR. To everyone's surprise, the lineup remains the same from 2013. The team adds a fourth car for Brian Vickers and Elliott Sadler to share, but Sadler leaves after 2014, giving the car to Vickers for the full season.

Germain Racing - Ford Fusion
13 - Joey Logano

After being dumped from Penske, Logano moves to Germain, taking Casey Mears's spot in the 13.

Michael Waltrip Racing - Toyota Camry
15 - Clint Bowyer
55 - Travis Pastrana -R-
56 - Martin Truex, Jr.

Travis Pastrana moves up to NASCAR's premier division, being a Rookie in 2015. Mark Martin and Michael Waltrip retire, and Vickers goes to JGR.

Roush-Fenway Racing - Ford Fusion
6 - Trevor Bayne
16 - Greg Biffle
17 - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

After finding enough sponsorship, Roush re-starts the 6 team to field Trevor Bayne.

Wood Brothers Racing - Ford Fusion
21 - Marcos Ambrose

The Wood Brothers return full time racing, and Marcos Ambrose moves over to the team.

BK Racing - Toyota Camry
23 - Landon Cassil
83 - David Reutimann

BK Racing slowly improves and becomes relatively competative.

Swan Racing - Ford Fusion
30 - David Stremme

Swan Racing and Stremme still racing, and finding more success than under the Inception banner.

Turner Motorsports - Chevrolet SS
31 - James Buescher
32 - Justin Allgaier
50 - Nelson Piquet, Jr. -R-

Turner Motorsports moves full time in 2014 with Justin Allgaier and James Buescher, then brings Piquet up in 2015.

FASLane Racing - Ford Fusion
32 - Multiple Drivers

A rotation of drivers still run the 32, but different drivers, as Ken Schrader and Terry Labonte officially retire.

Front Row Motorsports - Ford Fusion
34 - David Ragan
38 - David Gilliland

FRM drops to two cars.

Tommy Baldwin Racing - Chevrolet SS
36 - Ryan Blaney -R-
37 - JJ Yeley

Dave Blaney retires from the 36 after the 2014 season, his son Ryan takes it over. The Gunselman team dissolves into TBR, bringing the 37 and Yeley, who is still with them.

Joe Falk Racing - Chevrolet SS
40 - Steven Leicht
53 - C.E. Falk

After scoring Rookie of the Year in 2012 in spectacular fashion, Leicht is still with the team. They open a second car for C.E. Falk.

JTG/Daugherty Racing - Toyota Camry
47 - Travis Kvapil

Bobby Labonte retires, and Kvapil leaves BK Racing to take over the 47.

Phoenix Racing - Chevrolet SS
51 - AJ Allmendinger

AJ returns to Phoenix Racing in 2013 and is still there in 2015.

Kyle Busch Motorsports - Toyota Camry
54 - Kurt Busch

Kyle brings his team up to the Cup series to supply a ride to brother Kurt.

Furniture Row Racing - Chevrolet SS
78 - Cole Whitt

Cole Whitt moves up from the Cup Series to pilot the Furniture Row machine.

NEMCO Motorsports - Toyota Camry
87 - Joe Nemechek

Nemechek continues in the owner/parker role.

Leavine Racing - Ford Fusion
95 - Scott Speed

Speed and the Leavine team continue to run a partial schedule.

Phil Parsons Racing - Ford Fusion
98 - Michael McDowell

Parsons Racing continues to field cars for McDowell, still parking, but running more full races than in previous seasons.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Alpineopossum Thu Dec 27, 2012 10:31 pm

My predictions:
Earnhardt Ganassi Racing
Team continues to slide down the grid but Montoya is competitive at many races and becomes the team leader
1 - Jamie McMurry
42 - Juan Pablo Montoya

Team Penske
Keselowski stays, but the captain fires Logano after 2014. Sam Hornish Jr. moves to cup and Ryan Blaney takes over the #12.
2 - Brad Keselowski
22 - Sam Hornish Jr.

RCR
Jeff Burton is replaced by Ty Dillon either in 2015 or 2016. Austin Dillon has been with the team since 2014. Paul Menard stays on.
3 - Austin Dillon
27 - Paul Menard
31 - Jeff Burton or Ty Dillon*

Hendrick
Jeff Gordon retires. The 24 team shuts down. The rest of the team is unchanged
5 - Kasey Kahne
48 - Jimmie Johnson
88 - Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Petty
Ambrose stays unless he returns to Australia (which could happen). Almirola's money runs out and Michael Annett buys his old ride with family cash
9 - Marcos Ambrose or ???
43 - Michael Annett -R-

Stewart/Haas
I suppose there's a small chance that Danica will go to Hendrick but that would be stupid. Ryan Newman is let go and Harvick takes his place
10 - Danica Patrick
14 - Tony Stewart
39 - Kevin Harvick

Gibbs
All three 2013 drivers stay with the team. Unless Busch does something that warrants his dismissal...
11 - Denny Hamlin
18 - Kyle Busch
20 - Matt Kenseth

Germain
Casey Mears is fired and he is replaced by David Gilliland. Mears ends up in the Nationwide
13 - David Gilliland

Waltrip
Bowyer and Truex stay. Martin fully retires in 2014 and his place on the 55 team is taken by Travis Pastrada. Waltrip still runs the Daytona 500, Kentucky, and the other superspeedway races and he derps in all of them.
15 - Clint Bowyer
55 - Michael Waltrip (Superspeedways + KY), Brian Vickers (7 races), Travis Pastrada (remaining races)
56 - Martin Truex Jr

Roush Fenway Racing
Roush replaces Biffle with Trevor Bayne who finally gets a full time ride five years after winning the Daytona 500. Stenhouse and Edwards remain. Edwards wins the championship in 2014 after Johnson wins in in 2013.
16 - Trevor Bayne -R-
17 - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

Front Row Motorsports
26 - Matthew DiBennendetto -R-
34 - David Ragan
38 - Greg Biffle
Biffle joins Front Row after losing his ride at Roush. David Ragan has life threatening injuries after a crash at Talladega and is replaced by DiBennendetto after Front Row can't convice Labonte to come out of retirement. Matthew DiBennendetto start and parks the 26.

Swan Racing
Stremme is still there.
30 - David Stremme

FasLane Racing
Continues to employ pay drivers. Terry Labonte still runs the Daytona 500 for this team and he is the only competent driver the team has every year.
32 - pay drivers

Baldwin Racing
Ryan Newman replaced Blaney, who retires to help his son with his career.
36 - Ryan Newman

JTG Racing
Bobby Labonte retires and Landon Cassil replaces him (I keep accidentally calling him Landon Rody so if in any of my future posts I use the latter that's what I mean)
47 - Landon Cassil

Hamilton Means Racing
Jimmy Means reaches deep into the abyss of obscure early 2000s drivers and pulls out Steve Park to start and park.
52 - Steve Park

MaxQ Motorsports
Logano uses his family cash to buy a ride at MaxQ after he is sacked from Penske
37 - Joey Logano

Furniture Row Racing
Kurt Busch remains with the team unless he does something stupid.
78 - Kurt Busch

Cassil leaves and Reutimann moves to full time.
23 - David Reutimann
93 - Travis Kvapil

NEMCO
Joe Nemechek keeps rolling along...

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Tanrar Fri Dec 28, 2012 7:26 am

I remember someone on SRD starting one of these a while back. Had it mostly done, so I tweaked it for this since some more things had been revealed about 2013, so here is my 2015 NSCS Chart:

Earnhardt/Ganassi Racing - Chevrolet SS
1 - Jamie McMurray
4- Kyle Larson -R-
42 - Juan Pablo Montoya

Both drivers are still with the team, as they improve from dismal 2011 and 2012 seasons, and Kyle Larson goes for a rookie drive.

Penske Racing - Ford Fusion
2 - Brad Keselowski
12 - Ryan Blaney
22 - Joey Logano

Penske keeps Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski, unsurprisingly. Penske also opens up their third team once again for Ryan Blaney.

Richard Childress Racing - Chevrolet SS
3 - Austin Dillon
27 - Paul Menard
29 - Ryan Newman
33 - Ty Dillon (PT)

Jeff Burton expectedly retires and is replaced by Austin Dillon in 2014, changing from #31 to #3. No real changes from 2014 to 2015. Ty Dillon runs a part time #33.

Hendrick Motorsports - Chevrolet SS
5 - Kasey Kahne
24- Jeff Gordon
48 - Jimmie Johnson
88 - Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

They stay the same.

Richard Petty Motorsports - Ford Fusion
9 - Marcos Ambrose
43 - Michael Annett

Ambrose maintains his spot, and Michael Annett brings some money.

Stewart-Haas Racing - Chevrolet SS
10 - Danica Patrick
14 - Tony Stewart
39 - Kevin Harvick

Newman leaves and is replaced by Harvick, as expected.

Joe Gibbs Racing - Toyota Camry
02- Brian Vickers
11 - Denny Hamlin
18 - Kyle Busch
20 - Matt Kenseth

Kenseth remains with JGR. To everyone's surprise, the lineup remains the same from 2013. The team adds a fourth car for Brian Vickers.

Germain Racing - Ford Fusion
13 - Casey Mears

Casey Mears stays forever Germain.

Michael Waltrip Racing - Toyota Camry
15 - Clint Bowyer
55 - Michael Waltrip
56 - Martin Truex, Jr.

After a lucky Talladega win, Michael Waltrip starts to believe he can be competitive and win, and decides to run full-time in the 55, due to Mark Martin retiring.

Roush-Fenway Racing - Ford Fusion
16 - Greg Biffle
17 - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

Roush stays pretty much the same.

Wood Brothers Racing - Ford Fusion
21 - Trevor Bayne

The Wood Brothers return full time racing.

BK Racing - Toyota Camry
23 - Landon Cassill
83 - J.J. Yeley

BK Racing slowly improves and becomes relatively competative.

Turner Motorsports - Chevrolet SS
31 - James Buescher
32 - Justin Allgaier
50 - Nelson Piquet, Jr. -R-

Turner Motorsports moves full time in 2014 with Justin Allgaier and James Buescher, then brings Piquet up in 2015.

FASLane Racing - Ford Fusion
32 - Pay Drivers

A rotation of drivers still run the 32.

Front Row Motorsports - Ford Fusion
34 - David Ragan
38 - David Gilliland

FRM drops to two cars.

Tommy Baldwin Racing - Chevrolet SS
36 - Ryan Blaney -R-

Dave Blaney retires from the 36 after the 2014 season, his son Ryan takes it over.

Joe Falk Racing - Chevrolet SS
33- C.E. Falk

C.E. Falk pays his way into cup.

JTG/Daugherty Racing - Toyota Camry
47 - Johanna Long -R-

Bobby Labonte retires, and Johanna Long replaces him.

Phoenix Racing - Chevrolet SS
51 - Eric McClure

Eric McClure brings money to the dying Phoenix Racing, but just as easily tosses it out like a Hefty garbage bag.

Furniture Row Racing - Chevrolet SS
78 - Kurt Busch

Kurt Busch surprisingly keeps the team alive, and brings more money to them.

NEMCO Motorsports - Toyota Camry
87 - Joe Nemechek

Nemechek continues in the owner/parker role.

Leavine Racing - Ford Fusion
95 - Scott Speed

Speed and the Leavine team continue to run a partial schedule.

Phil Parsons Racing - Ford Fusion
98 - Dolan Duk

LOLPark

Rick Ware Racing - Ford Fusion
71- Nur Ali
75- Timmy Hill

Rick Ware scrounges up enough pennies to create a cup operation.

Post by Ben Atkins Fri Dec 28, 2012 7:35 am

My predictions:
Earnhardt Ganassi Racing
Jr gets booted out of Hendrick after finishing 25th in points one too many times. Montoya stays
1 - Dale Earnhardt Jr
42 - Juan Pablo Montoya

Team Penske
After winning the 2014 Nationwide title, Karthikeyan is taken up by Penske. Busch comes back to the 22 team after Roger Penske begs him to come back to get the car back in the top 35 after Joey Logano screwed everything up.
2 - Narain Karthikeyan
22 - Kurt Busch

RCR
WAWD BUHTUN
3 - Austin Dillon
27 - Paul Menard
31 - Ward Burton

Hendrick
Kasey Kahne is the only one performing well enough to stay at his ride. McMurray goes to the 24 after winning the 2014 Sprint Cup for front row motorsports, replacing the semi-retired Gordon who goes to make his own team. Timmy Hill is replaced by Jimmie Johnson after Johnson fails to win the title for the first time since... 2013. Scott Speed replaces Dale Jr
5 - Kasey Kahne
24 - Jamie McMurray
48 - Timmy Hill
88 - Scott Speed

Petty
Norm Benning gets taken up by Petty since he's awesome. Richard Petty gets tired of the 43 car doing nothing, so he gets back in the car.
9 - Norm Benning
43 - Richard Petty

Stewart/Haas
Stewart has one too many whoppers and has a heart attack and retires from NASCAR. Kyle Larson takes his rather large space.
10 - Danica Patrick

Gibbs
Sebastian Vettel is fed up of dominating F1 so he dominates NASCAR instead. Parker Hammons replaces Hamlin.
11 - Parker Hammons
18 - Sebastian Vettel
20 - Matt Kenseth

Germain
Mears is fired, and so Johnson takes his ride.
13 - Jimmie Johnson

Gordon-Bowyer Racing
They finally get over what happened at Homestead after Bowyer retaliates in 2013 at Daytona, and Gordon hits the fence. They become best friends and make a team.
15 - Clint Bowyer
51 - Jeff Gordon (PT)

Waltrip
Tanner Clason breaks into NASCAR success and signed for MWR. Truex stays.
55 - Tanner Clason
56 - Martin Truex Jr

Roush Fenway Racing
Alexis Rainsford become a real person and takes over the 17 from Ricky Stenhouse. Bayne comes up to the 16.
16 - Bill Lester
17 - Alexis Rainsford
99 - Carl Edwards

Front Row Motorsports
26 - Ricky Stenhouse Jr
34 - Mario Gosselin
38 - Ben Atkins
Ricky Stenhouse fails for Roush for a few years and moves to Front Row. Mario Gosselin can hold a line better than David Ragan, so he gets signed, and Ben Atkins beat Stenhouse in iRacing in 2011, so he gets the 38 for that.

Swan Racing
lol.
30 - Greg Biffle

FasLane Racing
Continues to employ pay drivers. Terry Labonte still runs the Daytona 500 for this team and he is the only competent driver the team has every year.
32 - pay drivers

Baldwin Racing
Dave Blaney continues to try and get kids to eat free.
36 - Dave Blaney

JTG Racing
Can't find a ride anywhere else.

Ian Cooper is seen as the best fit for the team and he promptly wins the Daytona 500.
87 - Ian Cooper

HP Racing
HP still start and parks most races but occasionally runs the full race
98 - Ronald McDonald

Instagram Racing
A bunch of hipsters make a nascar team with a three digit car and use a Buick. Nur Ali gets the ride.
674 - Nur Ali

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Spannerhead29 (Nelson) Fri Dec 28, 2012 7:55 am

My predictions

Earnhardt/Ganassi Racing - Chevrolet SS
1- Kyle Larson -R-
42 - Juan Pablo Montoya

Kyle Larson trys for ROTY after raping both the 2013 Truck and 2014 Nationwide Championships. Jamie McMurray semi-retires and starts his own team.

Penske Racing - Ford Fusion
2 - Brad Keselowski
12 - Ryan Blaney
22 - WAWD BURTON

Penske decides to let the INC mark out by putting WAWD BUHTON back in the 22.

Richard Childress Racing - Chevrolet SS
3 - Austin Dillon
27 - Paul Menard
33 - Ty Dillon (PT)

Austin Dillon somehow avoids getting killed for stating he'll be the #3 driver ever. RCR keeps Menard because of his money.

Hendrick Motorsports - Chevrolet SS
5 - Kasey Kahne
24 - Chase Elliott
48 - Sebastian Vettel
88 - Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

The old fag in the 24 finally gave up after having to use his champions provisional to get into race more than 50% of the time. The World's worst kept secret of Chase Elliott replacing Gordon is revealed. Hendrick fires Jimmie for failing at getting a 6th Championship, so he hires someone who has 6 championships in a row.

Richard Petty Motorsports - Ford Fusion
9 - Marcos Ambrose
43 - Michael Annett
92 - Robert Nelson

Ambrose maintains his spot, and Michael Annett brings some money, and they hire some random dirt tracker from Australia.

Stewart-Haas Racing - Chevrolet SS
10 - Danica Patrick
14 - Tony Stewart
29 - Kevin Harvick

Newman leaves and is replaced by Harvick, as expected.

Joe Gibbs Racing - Toyota Camry
02- Brian Vickers
11 - Denny Hamlin

20 - Matt Kenseth

Kenseth remains with JGR. To everyone's surprise, the lineup remains the same from 2013. The team adds a fourth car for Brian Vickers.

Germain Racing - Ford Fusion
13 - Casey Mears

Casey Mears stays forever Germain.

Michael Waltrip Racing - Toyota Camry
15 - Clint Bowyer
55 - Chad Hackensomething
56 - Martin Truex, Jr.

Mark Martin retires for the 5th time, and the 2013 ARCA/2014 Truck champion skips Nationwide to go to 55. Michael Waltrip still does Super Speedways.

Roush-Fenway Racing - Ford Fusion
16 - Greg Biffle
17 - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

Roush stays pretty much the same.

Wood Brothers Racing - Ford Fusion
12 - Aric Almirola
21 - Trevor Bayne

The Wood Brothers return full time racing with two cars.

BK Racing - Toyota Camry
23 - Landon Cassill
83 - J.J. Yeley

Landon Cassill becomes their #1 driver after getting them their first race win and Chase spot.

Turner Motorsports - Chevrolet SS
31 - James Buescher
32 - Justin Allgaier
50 - Nelson Piquet, Jr. -R-

Turner Motorsports moves full time in 2014 with Justin Allgaier and James Buescher, then brings Piquet up in 2015.

FASLane Racing - Ford Fusion
32 - Pay Drivers

A rotation of drivers still run the 32.

Front Row Motorsports - Ford Fusion
34 - David Ragan
38 - David Gilliland

47 - Johanna Long -R-

Bobby Labonte retires, and Johanna Long replaces him.

Furniture Row Racing - Chevrolet SS
78 - Kurt Busch

Kurt Busch surprisingly keeps the team alive, and brings more money to them.

NEMCO Motorsports - Toyota Camry
87 - Joe Nemechek

Nemechek continues in the owner/parker role.

Leavine Racing - Ford Fusion
95 - Scott Speed

Speed and the Leavine team continue to run a partial schedule.

Phil Parsons Racing - Ford Fusion
98 - Michael McDowell

LOLPark

Rick Ware Racing - Ford Fusion
71 - Nur Ali
75 - Timmy Hill

Rick Ware scrounges up enough pennies to create a cup operation.

Norm Benning Racing - Chevrolet SS
57 - Norm Benning

Norm wins at Talladega in 2013, and uses the prize money to run full-time in 2014, and surprises everybody by winning all 36 races and the Championship.

Clockwork Racing - Mercedes.

#7 Ian Cooper/Robby Gordon
#77 Katherine Legge.

Some guy in Chicago wins the lottery and starts a Cup team with new manufacture Mercedes.

McDonalds Racing - Chevrolet.

#4 Jamie McMurray (PT)
#44 Ben Atkins

Jamie McMurray retires from full-time racing to start his own team, and hires his only fan.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Cynon Fri Dec 28, 2012 8:20 am

Take these with a grain of salt. When I say grain, I mean block.

Earnhardt Ganassi Dodge: Dodge rejoins NASCAR and joins ECR. Montoya's relevance is still questionable, even after Montoya wins on an oval due to complete luck. Kyle Larson runs for ROTY.
1 Larson (R)
42 Montoya

Penske Ford: The Captain comes to his senses and fires Logano after he runs 30th every week while Keselowski wins another championship. The Captain thinks into the future by signing Nationwide champ Ryan Blaney.
2 Keselowski
12 R Blaney (R)
22 Hornish

Childress Dodge: Childress shockingly leaves GM for Dodge. Austin and Ty Dillon are joined by Paul Menard, who is kept because of Menards sponsorship. Justin Allgaier is given to FRM, but RCR takes on Kurt Busch in 2014, who immediately makes Harvick look like crap. After a nasty incident midway through 2014, RCR hires two 7 foot security guards to keep the media away from Kurt Busch, making the driver a lot happier and giving him what he needs to be a title threat.
3 A. Dillon
27 Menard
29 Kurt Busch
31 T. Dillon (R)

Stewart Haas Chevy: Fatboy Stewart finally gets #7 after Robby Gordon makes him an offer he can't refuse. Danica has yet to win on an oval but is nigh-undefeated on road courses, except for one...
4 Harvick
7 Patrick
14 Stewart

Hendrick Chevy: Jeff Gordon leaves NASCAR after 2014 and Regan Smith is given his ride and immediately blows everyone out of the water. Jimmie Johnson wins the 2014 title and is immediately renamed Satan by a collaboration of idiots on YouTube and Twitter. (Obvious trolling with that last bit) Dale Jr. still struggles to run in the top 15 even with Chad Knaus working with him for a few races. Junior finally says he will hang it up after his contract runs out.
5 Kahne
24 Smith
48 Satan
88 DAEL JR

Roush Fenway Ford: The most boring driver lineup has even more boring looking cars and goes down the drain despite Stenhouse making a hero of himself on a number of occasions.
16 Biffle
17 Stenhouse
99 Bayne

Robby Gordon Chevy: The money Robby gets from Stewart buying the #7 is so massive that Robby restarts his team for one race -- Sonoma -- which he then thorougly dominates only to be disqualified for dominating a race and not being Hendrick, Gibbs, or Stewart Haas. He only runs Sonoma and then is never seen again in NASCAR.
07 R. Gordon

Petty Ford: Petty keeps Ambrose only because he wants to be in contention to win two races per year. Ambrose gets swamped by Danica on the road courses, making some wonder why he still has his ride. Annett has money.
9 Ambrose
43 Annett (R)

Joe Gibbs Toyota: After KYAL BUSCH GR8ST DRIVR EVR does more stupid crap on the track Gibbs is forced to sack him or lose sponsors. Gibbs replaces Kyle Busch, who despite winning 35 Nationwide races in 2013 and 2014 and with 4 Cup wins in that span of time, fails to make the Chase in both years. Kenseth mounts a title challenge in those years and Hamlin does likewise. Gibbs takes Vickers to Cup in the 19 car, while Kyle Busch's old ride is given to Carl Edwards, who quits Roush because they sucked in 2014.
11 Hamlin
18 Edwards
19 Vickers
20 Kenseth

Michael Waltrip Toyota: Truex, Jr. gets faster and is a serious title threat in 2015. Bowyer still the best driver in the MWR garage, Gordon fans still hate Bowyer for sticking up for himself at Phoenix. Michael Waltrip tries to poach Logano from Penske and succeeds, resulting in more stupid Logano ads. He still runs the super speedways but not even his own teammates want to draft with him because he always causes massive wrecks, so at least some things remain the same.
00 Wall-trip (Part-Time... thankfully)
15 Bowyer
55 Logano
56 Truex Jr.

Wood Brothers Ford: The Wood Brothers run part-time again.
21 Reutimann

BK Racing Toyota: BK have a bit more BK money, but still no results and more blown engines. Johanna Long gets the third BK Racing entry and blows the doors off her teammates.
23 Speed
83 J. Long (R)
93 Gilliland

Andretti Autosport Dodge: Andretti Autosport comes to NASCAR with Dodge. Marco Andretti gets tired of running last in IndyCar races and only runs 5 races in Cup, and Ryan Newman is brought in because he doesn't wreck.
25 Andretti/Sorenson
26 Newman

FAS Lane Racing Ford: If they still exist...
32 Pay Drivers/Bliss/Kvapil

Joe Falk Racing Chevy: Yup.
30 C.E. Falk (R)
33 Leicht

Front Row Motorsports Ford: FRM still toodles around with ugly cars, but a lot of heart. Still no results to speak for either. Gilliland leaves NASCAR after being stuck in bad cars for too long but he is urged back by BK Racing. David Ragan nearly wins two races and makes half of NASCAR wonder why no bigger teams wanted to sign him. Then they see how little sponsors he has...
34 Ragan
38 Cassill

Rick Ware Racing Ford: They come to Cup and provide a lot of excitement at the back of the grid.
41 Hill (R)
71 S. Wallace (R)
75 Blankenship (R)

XxXtreme Motorsports Chevy: These guys REALLY stir up some insanity at the back of the grid. Their antics make NASCAR fans either vomit, laugh, or both. Terry Labonte runs the first five races to get the 44 locked in the race.
44 T. Labonte/Pay Drivers

JTG Toyota: Wallace does pretty well given that the team is about to die.
47 D. Wallace, Jr. (R)

Phoenix Racing Chevy: The annual Phoenix Racing bitch-fest about how expensive cars are and that they may not come back continues, but they return with McMurray, who drives 2 year old Hendrick cars into the top 20 every so often.
51 McMurray

Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota: Kyle Busch thinks he's awesome and brings his team to Cup with Monster Energy and a barely-funded second car. Kligerman is a clear #2 driver and DNQs for 20 races. The 64 car is intentionally made to suck because Kyle Busch wants to look good -- the only time Kligerman gets one of Busch's cars, he nearly wins the race. Kyle Busch goes winless.
54 Kyle Busch
64 Kligerman (R)

Furniture Row Dodge: FRM goes to two cars, effectively making them the 5th and 6th RCR cars. Allmendinger is joined by Justin Allgaier's cash.
78 Allmendinger
79 Allgaier (R)

NEMCO Toyota: They still exist. They still park. The 97 runs superspeedways only.
87 Joe Nemechek
97 Pay Drivers

Phil Parsons Racing: McDowell goes here because nobody else wants him.
98 McDowell

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by flyingturns89 Fri Dec 28, 2012 10:36 am

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing
#1 Jamie McMurray
#30 David Stremme
#42 Juan Pablo Montoya

Following the 2013 season, EGR bought out Swan Racing and brought David Stremme and the team over. He did surprisingly well in 2014, and was given another one year contract.

Penske Racing
#2 Brad Keselowski

Sam Hornish Jr.'s 2014 season proved he just isn't meant to be in Cup. Penske drops to one team.

Richard Childress Racing
#03 Austin Dillon
#27 Paul Menard
#31 Aric Almirola

Austin Dillon ends up in the #29, which is renumbered to #03. Jeff Burton retires after 2014, and Childress signs Aric Almirola. Ty Dillon is expected to join the team next year in the #41.

Hendrick Motorsports
#5 Kasey Kahne
#24 Jeff Gordon
#48 Jimmie Johnson
#88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Hendrick has a busy year ahead of him, as both Gordon and Earnhardt Jr. plan to retire following the 2015 season.

Richard Petty Motorsports
#9 Marcos Ambrose
#43 Michael McDowell

Ambrose qualifies for the 2013 and 2014 Chase by sweeping both road courses. Aric Almirola leaves the team, and McDowell gets the ride.

Joe Gibbs Racing
#11 Denny Hamlin
#18 Kyle Busch
#20 Matt Kenseth
#80 Brian Vickers

Vickers's first season as a Gibbs Cup driver in 2014 goes very well, but he is unable to get a win. Kenseth plans on retiring after this season.

Germain Racing
#13 Casey Mears

Mears and Germain continue to improve and have started getting top 10 finishes. A team expansion could be in the works for 2016.

Stewart Haas Racing
#14 Tony Stewart
#29 Kevin Harvick
#39 Ryan Newman

Danica Patrick is unable to keep up with the field thanks to all the new rule changes in 2013, and is released midway through the season. Stewart hires Dave Blaney to run the #10 for the rest of the season, and is so impressed with him, he makes him the fourth car at Stewart Haas for 2014. Harvick joins as well for 2014. Blaney retires following the 2014 season.

Michael Waltrip Racing
#15 Clint Bowyer
#56 Martin Truex Jr.

Mark Martin retires following the 2013 season, opening the door for Vickers, who ends up leaving for Gibbs. With no driver in the #55, Michael Waltrip decides to run one more full time season. Hilarity ensues. Waltrip retires for good after 2014, and the #55 is shut down.

Roush Racing
#16 Greg Biffle
#99 Carl Edwards

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is unable to get good results in the #17 car, and is released after 2014. Roush shuts down the #17 car, which was already struggling to get sponsorship. Biffle, after finally his Cup championship in 2014, will call 2015 his farewell season.

Tri-Star Motorsports
#19 Mike Bliss

With a number of teams reducing or closing, Tri-Star manages to run more races in 2013 and 2014, and will run full time with Mike Bliss in 2015. This will be Bliss's final season.

Wood Brothers
#21 Travis Pastrana

Trevor Bayne's career does not take off and he is released. Travis Pastrana takes over his ride.

BK Racing
#23 Scott Riggs
#73 Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
#83 Landon Cassill
#93 Trevor Bayne

BK Racing picks up Stenhouse, Bayne, and Riggs this season, and are attempting to get NASCAR to drop the four car team limit, with support from Gibbs and FRM. If successful, they claim to be ready to run two more cars, the #53 and #63.

Front Row Motorsports
#26 Josh Wise
#34 David Ragan
#37 Travis Kvapil
#38 David Gilliland

FRM gets Travis Kvapil back. Nothing else happens.

FAS Lane Racing
#32 Jason White

For the first time ever, FAS Lane will stick to one driver all year long, with Jason White moving up to Cup.

Tommy Baldwin Racing
#36 Ryan Blaney

When Dave Blaney went to Stewart Haas in the second half of 2013, David Reutimann drove this car. Reutimann retired afterwards. Baldwin signed Ryan Blaney to drive the #36 in 2014, and continues on with him in 2015.

Furniture Row Racing
#78 Kurt Busch
#79 AJ Allmendinger

Furniture Row was rumored to be expanding after a successful buyout of JTG Daugherty in 2014 resulting in AJ Allmedinger joining the team, but they stay at two cars.

NEMCO Motorsports
#87 Danica Patrick

Joe Nemechek retired, and Danica Patrick the ride. Nemechek was delighted, because of all the money he got from GoDaddy.Com

Phil Parsons Racing
#96 Various
#97 Various
#98 Various

With three spots left on the grid, Phil Parsons fielded three cars with a rotation of drivers including JJ Yeley, Stephen Leicht, Erik Darnell, Timmy Hill, Blake Koch, Kevin Conway, Derrike Cope, Parker Kligerman, Mike Skinner, Ken Schrader, and the Labonte brothers. Parsons himself ran a couple races as well, but had little success.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Syzygy Fri Dec 28, 2012 10:58 am

Now for my predictions:

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing
1 - Kyle Larson -R-
42 - Juan Pablo Montoya

Larson goes for Rookie of the Year after finishing in the top-5 in nationwide points the previous year.

Penske Racing
2 - Brad Keselowski
12 - Sam Hornish, Jr.
22 - Joey Logano

Not much really changes here, and Logano still disappoints. Penske contemplates sacking him for another driver.

RCR
27 - Paul Menard
29 - Ryan Newman
31 - Ty Dillon -PT-
33 - Austin Dillon

Jeff Burton finally retires, and the team goes part time with Ty Dillon. Newman continues to have no fans, but at RCR now.

Hendrick Motorsports
5 - Kasey Kahne
24 - Regan Smith
48 - Jimmie Johnson
88 - Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Jeff Gordon retires after 2014, Regan Smith fills his seat for one year in preparation for Chase Elliot to take over that ride in 2016.

Richard Petty Motorsports
9 - Marcos Ambrose
43 - Michael Annett

Michael Annett takes over the 43 in 2014, and finishes 2nd in Rookie of the Year. Ambrose stays and probably will have won on an oval by this point.

Stewart/Haas Racing
10 - Danica Patrick
14 - Tony Stewart
39 - Kevin Harvick

Tony Stewart gets fatter, Danica is slowly improving after finishing in the top-20 in points last season, and Harvick is... well... yeah...

Joe Gibbs Racing
02 - Darrell Wallace, Jr/Ryan Truex -PT-
11 - Denny Hamlin
18 - Kyle Busch
20 - Matt Kenseth

The team still has yet to win a championship under its new lineup, but Kenseth came damn close in 2014. The 02 shows up again with Darrell Wallace, Jr. and Ryan Truex, but only for a couple races at the end of the season.

Germain Racing
13 - Casey Mears

Forever Germain.

Michael Waltrip Racing
15 - Clint Bowyer
55 - Brian Vickers
56 - Martin Truex Jr.

Brian Vickers, as expected, gets the full-time ride in the 55. Michael Waltrip causes one too many wrecks and NASCAR tells him to gtfo.

Roush Fenway Racing
6 - Trevor Bayne -R-
16 - Greg Biffle
17 - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

Not much changes here, and Trevor Bayne continues to get the shit-end of the stick in the 4th Roush car.

Wood Brothers Racing
21 - Aric Almirola

This is where Almirola ends up after he leaves RPM.

Front Row Motorsports
34 - David Ragan
38 - Landon Cassill

This team continues to fight for good results, and is slowly getting better. Top-20's are becoming more common, and sponsorship is increasing. Cassill replaces Gilliland.

Swan Racing
30 - David Stremme

Team occasionally competes for top-25's, somehow is still around.

FasLane Racing
32 - Pay Drivers

This team is so desperate for cash that they'll still be around.

Tommy Baldwin Racing - funding dries up.

JTG Racing
47 - Cole Whitt

This team is on it's last leg, and the results clearly show. Cole Whitt returns after competing for Rookie of the Year in 2014.

Phoenix Racing
51 - James Buescher

After firing him from his Nationwide team a few years back, Buescher and Finch reconcile and he hires him for 2014, running for Rookie of the Year. He performs well enough to be retained, and Finch still bitches about not having sponsors.

Furniture Row Racing
78 - Justin Allgaier

After Kurt Busch happened to this team in 2013, they realized that the only way to stay in business was to get rid of him. Justin Allgaier competes for Rookie of the Year in 2014 (which is widely considered to be one of the most interesting rookie battles since 2006), and does well enough to be retained.

Burger King Racing
23 - Kurt Busch
83 - David Reutimann
93 - David Gilliland

RIP Kurt Busch's career. Gilliland somehow ends up here.

CircleSport/Hillman Racing/Joe Falk Trash
91 - C.E. Falk -R-

This team is somehow still around, and they run the full races... somehow. C.E. Falk runs for Rookie of the Year, and looks hilariously out of his depth except for at Richmond and Martinsville.

NEMCO Motorsports
87 - Joe Nemechek
97 - Superspeedways only

Forever parking.

Tri-Star Motorsports
19 - Pay Drivers
91 - Pay Drivers

Forever parking.

HP Racing
98 - Michael McDowell

This team runs about half of the races now as opposed to the 8 they ran this year, and do somewhat decently in them. Still parks a lot, though.

Leavine Racing
95 - Scott Speed

This team runs the full schedule, but still parks in a few of the races. Scott Speed stole a top-10 at Watkins Glen last year through pit strategy.

XXXtreme Motorsports
44 - Pay Drivers?

This team somehow still exists, and their shenanigans still pollute the back of the grid.

SS Motorsports
0 - Steven Leicht

SS Motorsports shows up for both Martinsville races, and somehow qualifies for the Fall race. They get black-flagged by NASCAR for being too slow after 20 laps.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Vincent Giacalone Fri Dec 28, 2012 2:46 pm

NBC gets the rights to half the ESPN races and impresses in their first year, even after Allen Bestwick stays with the latter network.

Sometime in summer, a Cup race is announced for Rockingham in 2016 in the place of first Kansas.

Kentucky somehow gets another date.

Both Texas events are shortened to 400 miles.

The All-Star race is won by Kyle Busch after having its format redone for the fourth time in the last seven years.

The Shootout, conversely, is won by Tony Stewart again after never having its format touched.

Rumor of Honda entering the sport begins to creep up. It nearly comes true.

Start-and-parkers are slightly more abundant in Trucks. Eldora is still on the schedule but not the wild 11/10 race everyone initially made it out to be back in 2012.

I'd rather see Texas eliminated.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Magus978 Fri Dec 28, 2012 4:40 pm

I suppose I'll take a crack at this too...after all, it's the in-thing to do. Teams are listed in the order of how many cars I project them to have in 2015. Also you might see some crazy things. This is not meant to be a projection, this is just me having a bit of fun with what I want the future to look like.

(R) - Rookie for 2015 season.
(S&P) - Team is planning to "start-and-park"

Joe Gibbs Racing (Toyota)
02 - Darrell Wallace Jr. (Short Tracks only)
11 - Denny Hamlin
18 - Elliott Sadler
20 - Matt Kenseth (2003 champion)

- Sadler's just warming the seat for 2015 as JGR is giving Darrell Wallace one more season in Nationwide, whilst running him in the 02 on the short tracks. This off the heels of Kyle Busch wanting all the attention for himself and starting his own Cup operation, in which he whines every week that he doesn't win. Hamlin and Kenseth compete for wins every week, but when it comes to the Chase, they both fold up like tents and go home.

Richard Childress Racing (Chevrolet)
3 - Austin Dillon (2014 Runner-up)
27 - Paul Menard
29 - Kasey Kahne
41 - Ty Dillon (R)

- Predictable lineup, except for Kasey Kahne choosing RCR over Hendrick as Kevin Harvick leaves for Stewart-Haas. RCR gets back to being a factor in the Chase and surprisingly finishes runner-up in 2014 with Austin Dillon. Fans go nuts, claiming that Dillon is the second coming of URNHART SRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Ty Dillon runs for Rookie of the Year honors with the old 31 team, renumbered to 41.

Hendrick Motorsports (Chevrolet)
5 - Regan Smith
24 - Jeff Gordon (4-time champion)
48 - Jimmie Johnson (6-time champion)
88 - Dale Earnhardt Jr.

- It's unclear why Kasey Kahne would leave Hendrick, but he does. Rest of the lineup is unchanged, but 2015 proves to be Gordon's last full-time season, thus his last chance to "drive for five". He'll go part-time in 2016 before retiring for good. Regan Smith moves up after winning the 2014 Nationwide Series championship to take the vacant spot left by Kasey Kahne, who left for RCR.

Roush-Fenway Racing (Ford)
6 - Mark Martin (Daytona 500 only)
16 - Greg Biffle
17 - Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

- After sitting out 2014, Mark Martin gets the itch again and returns to Roush for a one-off in the Daytona 500 driving car #6. Other than that, their driver lineup is unchanged, and un-entertaining. I'd finish this thought, but I'm falling asleep...zzzzzzzzz.

Turner Motorsports (Toyota)
30 - James Buescher (R)
32 - Justin Allgaier (R)
35 - Nelson Piquet Jr. (R)
50 - Bill Elliott (1988 champion, Daytona 500 only), Miguel Paludo (R) (Pepsi 400 & Brickyard 400)

- Finally, Steve Turner decides to take his team to Cup full time, bringing Buescher, Allgaier, and Piquet with him, all running for Rookie of the Year honors. They run a 4th car in the Daytona 500 with Bill Elliott, and run the Pepsi 400 & Brickyard 400 with Miguel Paludo before potentially taking Paludo full time in 2016.

Penske Racing (Ford)
2 - Brad Keselowski (2012 Champion)
12 - Sam Hornish Jr.
22 - A.J. Allmendinger

- Allmendinger returns in 2014, gives Penske some solid runs. Keselowski comes close to successfully defending the driver's championship in 2013, and comes close to winning it a second time in 2014, finishing 3rd in points both seasons. Hornish comes close to making the chase in 2014, and has some momentum going into 2015 after winning last season's finale at Homestead.

Stewart-Haas Racing (Chevrolet)
10 - Danica Patrick
14 - Tony Stewart (3-time champion)
39 - Kevin Harvick

- Kevin Harvick joins SHR for 2015, replacing Ryan Newman. This season will be make or break for Danica Patrick, who has been an utter disappointment since she went full time in 2013. If she struggles again, not even her GoDaddy money will save her.

Michael Waltrip Racing (Toyota)
15 - Clint Bowyer (2014 Champion)
55 - Brian Vickers
56 - Martin Truex Jr.

- 55 team goes full time with Brian Vickers after Michael Waltrip (finally) retires. Clint Bowyer is coming off an incredible 2014 where he won 7 races en route to his first championship. MWR has the potential to get all three drivers into the Chase, as they have emerged as one of the strongest teams on the grid. At least Mikey knows what he's doing as an owner Razz.

Front Row Motorsports (Ford)
26 - Kelly Bires (S&P)
34 - David Ragan
38 - Landon Cassill

- FRM continues to grind out solid runs on occasion, and they steal a win in 2014 with David Ragan at Talladega. Still doesn't stop them from trotting the 26 out to start and park, this season with Kelly Bires behind the wheel.

CFK Motorsports (Chevrolet)
70 - Derrike Cope (Daytona 500 only)
71 - Angela Cope (Daytona 500 only)
72 - Amber Cope (Daytona 500 only)

- Oh god...

Kyle Busch Motorsports (Toyota)
4 - Ricky Carmichael (R)
54 - Kyle Busch

- This is basically Kyle Busch/Monster Motorsports. Cryle wins a race here and there, but is never a factor for the championship like he was at Gibbs. Carmichael made a handful of starts in 2014, and promptly putzed around at the back, effectively wasting Monster Energy's money. Look for more of the same from him in his 2015 Rookie of the Year campaign.

Richard Petty Motorsports (Ford)
9 - Marcos Ambrose
43 - Michael Annett

- Marcos Ambrose just missed the Chase in 2014, despite scoring wins at Sonoma and Watkins Glen, whilst Michael Annett had a solid rookie season in the STP 43, scoring a few top 10's and running solidly in the midfield. Expect more of the same in 2015. However, there were rumors that Kyle Petty would attempt the Daytona 500 in the 45, but those were debunked rather quickly when Petty decided to stay retired and continue doing TV.

Germain Racing (Ford)
13 - Casey Mears
60 - T.J. Bell

- After Mears stole a win in 2013, this team had increased expectations. They fell well short of those in 2014, but despite that, they are fielding a second team for 2015 with T.J. Bell bringing Green Smoke sponsorship.

Tommy Baldwin Racing - Chevrolet
33 - J.J. Yeley (S&P)
36 - Ryan Blaney (R)

- Ryan Blaney finally goes full time in Cup after attempting a handful of races for TBR in 2014. Dave Blaney retired after the 2014 Daytona 500, which he won for his only Cup win. J.J. Yeley, who took over the 36 after the 500 last season, will move over to the 33 car in 2015, and is expected to be their start and park machine.

BK Racing (Toyota)
73 - Erik Darnell (R) (Daytona 500 only)
93 - Travis Kvapil

- With Landon Cassill off to Front Row, BK Racing was forced to downsize to one full time car. Erik Darnell jumps to BK Racing for an opportunity to run the 500. If Darnell can get that 73 car into the show, there could be more opportunities for him to run that car later in the season.

NEMCO Racing (Toyota)
87 - Joe Nemechek (S&P)
97 - Rejects (S&P) (Superspeedways Only)

- Nemechek continues to park to fund his Nationwide Series campaigns, which have been mediocre at best. They employ a second car to run at the big ovals, and they park that one too. They have not been listed as running at the end of a race since the 2012 Finger Lakes 355 @ the Glen.

Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing (Chevrolet)
1 - Johanna Long (R)

- After releasing both Jamie McMurray and Juan Montoya in the offseason, EGR downsizes to one car in 2015 and brings in the very fast, but very unlucky Johanna Long for her rookie campaign. Despite winning the season opening race at Daytona in 2014's Nationwide Series, Johanna had 16 DNF's, the majority of them unlucky mechanical failures. The races where she didn't go up in smoke, she showed excellent pace in the underfunded MT Motorsports operation.

Robby Gordon Motorsports (Chevrolet)
7 - Robby Gordon (Daytona 500 & Road Courses)

- Robby Gordon comes back after not being in NASCAR for two years, and gathers enough sponsorship to run the road courses. They will also attempt the Daytona 500.

R3 Motorsports (Chevrolet)
23 - Robert Richardson Jr. (Who?) (S&P)

- Some guy's team is back for 2015, continuing to start and park. They never told me who he was, or why he was here...it's a mystery~!

Swan Racing (Toyota)
30 - Mike Bliss

- Stremme out, Bliss in. Team runs near the back, pulls out the occasional top 20 finish.

FAS Lane Racing (Chevrolet)
32 - Bobby Labonte (2000 champion, Daytona 500 only), Ken Schrader (Short tracks only), John Wes Townley (Everywhere else)

- Pay drivers ahoy! Bobby Labonte comes aboard for 2015 with the Kingsford sponsorship for the 500. Schrader sticks around and brings his Federated Auto Parts deal for the short tracks, and Zaxby's comes aboard when John Wes Townley runs the car. Townley did several races for this team in 2014 and for once, took care of the car and brought it home in one piece. Frankie Stoddard, ecstatic that Townley kept the car clean, renewed him for 2015.

The Motorsports Group (Chevrolet)
40 - Jason Leffler (S&P)

- Beware the Curtis Key parkmobile! TMG will attempt every race, but they plan on parking. Erik Darnell left the team to take up an opportunity for the 500 with BK Racing, so Jason Leffler has been tapped to park the car.

JTG-Daugherty Racing (Ford)
47 - Aric Almirola

- Almirola takes over for Jason Leffler, who drove this car in 2014 after Bobby Labonte finally retired from full time competition in 2013. This team is believed to be on its last legs financially, and may close up shop after this season unless they can get some serious results.

Phoenix Racing (Chevrolet)
51 - Joey Logano

- Logano brings his GameStop money to James Finch's team, but not much else. This team will probably derp around in the back.

Rick Ware Racing (Ford)
75 - Timmy Hill (S&P)

- RWR entered Cup full time in 2014 as a parkmobile. They were planning to park in the Daytona 500 to get the 200k for 43rd place, but to everyone's relief, the engine went on Timmy Hill's #75 during the first lap. They DNQ'ed for several races, and parked in the ones that they did make. At least Timmy's fanbase is vocal, even if they are annoying. Razz

Furniture Row Racing (Chevrolet)
78 - Kurt Busch (2004 champion)

- Kurt's still at Furniture Row, having gotten them into the chase the past two years. He's brought more money to the team with his success and as such, they've become more ambitious. However, they're still fielding only one car. If the success continues, expect them to field a second entry in 2016.

Red Bull Racing (Toyota)
83 - Sebastian Vettel (R)

- Having accomplished everything there is to accomplish in Formula 1, including a 2014 season in which he won every single race, Vettel made a shocking announcement that he was leaving open wheel and coming to America to try his hand at NASCAR...and that Red Bull was returning to the Sprint Cup Series to field an entry for him. Can Vettel take to stock cars like he did to open wheel cars? If Vettel does well, could it open the door for even more former open wheel guys to come into NASCAR? Only time will tell.

Faith Motorsports (Chevrolet)
89 - Morgan Shepherd (Daytona 500 only)

- The ageless Morgan Shepherd will attempt one last Daytona 500 before retiring, with support from Richard Childress Racing, essentially becoming their 5th car.

Brian Keselowski Motorsports (Toyota)
92 - Brian Keselowski (Daytona 500 only)

- For now, BKM is expected to only attempt the 500, but a good showing there could attract more sponsorship, and thus give them the funding to run more races.

Leavine Family Racing (Ford)
95 - Stephen Leicht

- This team's still trying to make their way, but at least they're not parking every week. Not much can be said for this operation, who could have a hard time qualifying for races this year, especially with the likes of Vettel among the "go or go homers". Leicht stole a top 15 for this team in the Southern 500 in 2014 when the race was shortened due to rain.

Phil Parsons Racing (Toyota)
98 - Michael McDowell (S&P)

- Yeah, did you really expect anything to change with this team? They continue to park, and when they don't park, they continue to putz around in the back. Same old Phil Parsons trash. Same old Michael McFailure. Please get out of the sport, both of you.

The last team is merely a pipe dream...but hey, maybe I can get lucky and win a lottery or something Razz

Tom Delgado Racing (Honda)
37 - Narain Karthikeyan (R)
77 - Tom Delgado (R) (Daytona 500 only)

- Some fat guy in New York wins lottery, buys the remnants of Joe Falk's operation, and throws perennial open wheel reject Narain Karthikeyan into the seat. The team runs in the low/mid-30's everywhere, except at Daytona and Talladega, where Karthikeyan somehow flukes his way into the top 10. They are also the only team opting to use the Honda Accord, which enters the series for the 2015 season, thus making them the flagship Honda team by default. This same fat guy decides to get in on the fun himself and fields a second car for himself in the Daytona 500, but will probably not get his competition license, as he was hilariously slower than the likes of Erik Darnell, Michael McDowell, David Stremme, J.J. Yeley, and that guy nobody knows in the 23 during off-season testing.

On 3...

What "Family cash"?

I also love how popular the "Penske fires Logano" Scenario is (even though it was Brad who lobbied his team to nab Joey).

His family owned a trucking company here in CT. That money is what got Logano started.

My Predictions:
(Only for full-time 2013 Drivers)

CHEVY:
Earnhardt Waltrip Ganassi Racing -
#1 - Ryan Truex Jr. Sponsors: NAPA/Bass Pro Shops
#55 - Mark Martin(PT)/Michael Waltrip. Sponsors: Aarons/Bass Pro Shops
#42 - Juan Pablo Montoya. Sponsors: Target/NAPA/Aarons

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by bigdc48 Mon Jun 10, 2013 8:51 pm

I know it's been over six months since you guys did these, but I figured I wanted to give my take on the topic.

Earnhardt/Ganassi Racing - Ford Fusion

1 - Jamie McMurray
42 - Kyle Larson -R-

Kyle Larson trys for ROTY after winning the 2014 Nationwide title. He replaces Montoya who returned to Formula 1 with Lotus. Jamie Mac is still with the team, but is barely relevent. EGR made a critical manufacturer change to Ford.

Penske Racing - Chevrolet SS

2 - Brad Keselowski
12 - Ryan Blaney -R-
22 - Sam Hornish Jr.

Roger finally fires the abomination that is Logano and gives Hornish an opportunity to show his resurection in Cup. Ryan Blaney, the 2013 Trucks champ, is also given a full-time stint in the 3rd Penske Ford. Penske made a critical manufacturer change to Chevrolet.

Richard Childress Racing - Dodge Charger
3 - Austin Dillon -R-
27 - Paul Menard
29 - Ryan Newman
33 - Ty Dillon (PT)

Austin Dillon changed the #29 team to rechristian the #3 in Sprint Cup since 2001. Menard is still with the team because of money (who's shocked, I'm not). After being sacked out of a ride at SHR, Newman was granted a ride in the #29. Austin's brother Ty will be part-time in the #33 while running full-time Nationwide. RCR made a critical manufacturer change to Dodge when Dodge decided to make a return appearance in NASCAR. Jeff Burton decided to give up his seat and becomes a consultant.

Hendrick Motorsports - Chevrolet SS
5 - Kasey Kahne
24 - Regan Smith
25 - Marco Andretti (PT)
88 - Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

After failing miserably in IndyCar, Marco Andretti decided a career change from open-wheel to stock cars. He has a full-time Nationwide ride with JR Motorsports, including a part-time stub with the ##25 team. Jeff Gordon went out as champion in 2014 when he announced his retirement in the middle part of the season, with 2013 Nationwide champ Regan Smith at the helm of the #24 and showing a lot of promise. Johnson decided for better pastures and moves to Stewart-Haas Racing to form Stewart-Haas-Johnson Motorsports. Everything else is the same, unsurprisingly.

Richard Petty Motorsports - Ford Fusion

9 - Marcos Ambrose
43 - Michael Annett -R-

Annett was 2014 Nationwide championship runner-up and was shockingly placed in the #43 Ford, but mostly because of cash. Ambrose is still with the team after last year's awesome season with not only winning Sonoma and the Glen, but winning the Daytona 500, his first oval victory. Almirola moved on to the Wood Brothers.

Stewart-Haas-Johnson Motorsports - Chevrolet SS

14 - Tony Stewart
29 - Kevin Harvick
48 - Jimmie Johnson

You can call this team "The Dream Team". Johnson winning 6 titles, Stewart with 3, and Harvick at the helm as well, it's looking like the 1992 basketball team. Cool

Joe Gibbs Racing - Toyota Camry

11 - Denny Hamlin
18 - Brian Vickers
20 - Matt Kenseth

Joe Gibbs finally gets his head out of his ass when Shrub was once again (how shocking is this) deliberately crashed another competitor....in the Nationwide Series in 2014. He fired his ass to the plank, and brought up Brian Vickers to be captain of the #18 ship to the Ocean of Champions in 2017. Hamlin and Kenseth stayed as a crew and got more and more treasure. As for Shrub, he was eaten by a shark (named Brian France).  Laughing

Germain Racing - Ford Fusion

13 - Joey Logano

That hack Lol-gano is driving for a midpack team because he choked under pressure while at Gibbs and Penske too often. He eventually wins another race since Pocono in 2012, at Daytona (July) in 2016. Casey Mears moved down to Nationwide.

Michael Waltrip Racing - Toyota Camry

15 - Clint Bowyer
55 - Elliot Sadler
56 - Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick failed to produce at Fatman's team and brought her money from GoDaddy.com, but went to bankrupcy in the midseason and showed little to no progress at MWR. Team leader Clint Bowyer is coming off to a fab start for winning 4 of the first 6 races in 2015, Daytona 500 included. Elliot Sadler is now the driver of the #55 after Mark Martin retired and Truex moved to Roush. Michael Trip To the Wall-trip finally will not be wrecking racecars anymore as he focuses on ownership and TV.

Roush-Fenway Racing - Ford Fusion

6 - Trevor Bayne
16 - Martin Truex Jr.
17 - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

The San Antonio Spurs of NASCAR (when I mean that I mean the most uninteresting team) is just the same Sleep, except Truex coming from MWR and Trevor Bayne finally given an opportunity to showcase his talents at Roush.

Wood Brothers Racing - Ford Fusion

21 - Aric Almirola

Almirola decides to make a different approach in his career and drives for the famous Wood Brothers team. He came off winning 3 races in 2014 with RPM.

BK Racing - Dodge Charger

83 - Landon Cassill
84 - David Ragan

This team is starting to show speed and won their first race in the Daytona July race in 2015 with Landon and DR finishing 1-2.

Furniture Row Racing - Dodge Charger

78 - Kurt Busch

FRR is coming off after two surprising seasons in making the Chase and finishing 4th in 2014. They changed from Chevy to Dodge.

Turner Motorsports - Toyota Camry

31 - James Buescher -R-
32 - Justin Allgaier -R-
50 - Nelson Piquet, Jr. -R-

Steve Turner decided that his drivers were ready for the big time. But made a crucial move from changing Chevy to Toyota.

FASLane Racing - Ford Fusion

32 - Pay Drivers

Yes. All of them are pay drivers, who start and parked every race, including the Sprint Unlimited and All-Star weekend.

Front Row Motorsports - Ford Fusion

34 - Timmy Hill
38 - David Gilliland

David Ragan decided to leave to move over to a fast-approaching team BK Racing. Hill is along side Gilly and won the Talladega spring race in 2017.

Tommy Baldwin Racing - Chevrolet SS

36 - Greg Biffle

The Biff moved out of the Roush house and made a new home at TBR. The team is starting to show speed, unexpectedly.

JTG Daughtrey Racing - Toyota Camry

47 - David Stremme

Stremme decides to leave the Swan Racing Team after they shut down due to lack of money, and moves to JTG, who are in their last legs to perform, but no progress, yet.

NEMCO Motorsports - Toyota Camry

87 - David Reutimann

Nemechek decides to retire in  2014 and gives Reut the seat. Nothing much needs to be said here.

Phil Parsons Racing - Ford Fusion

98 - Michael McDowell

Um...  Can this team just give up already?

Scuderia Ferrari - Ferrari Italia 458

65 - Fernando Alonso

Fernando and Ferrari decided to come to America and achieve the American Dream. He's up front on the road courses but sucks on the ovals.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by vbooy57 Tue Jun 11, 2013 9:48 am

I think that's very reasonable, for the most part. I don't think Biffle is going anywhere and I'd be very surprised if both Andretti and Alonso come over to NASCAR.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Alpineopossum Tue Jun 11, 2013 6:54 pm

My predictions:
Earnhardt Menard's Racing
Ganassi sells out to Menard. Larson replaced Montoya and Menard is in the #1
1 - Paul Menard
42 - Kyle Larson

Paul Menard leaves when his dad buys EGR and is replaced by Logano.
3 - Austin Dillon
29 - Joey Logano
31 - Jeff Burton or Ty Dillon*

Hendrick
Jeff Gordon retires. The 24 team shuts down. The rest of the team is unchanged
5 - Kasey Kahne
48 - Jimmie Johnson
88 - Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Petty
Ambrose stays unless he returns to Australia (which could happen). Almirola's money runs out and Michael Annett buys his old ride with family cash
9 - Marcos Ambrose or ???
43 - Michael Annett -R-

Stewart/Haas
I suppose there's a small chance that Danica will go to Hendrick but that would be stupid. Ryan Newman is let go and Harvick takes his place
10 - Danica Patrick
14 - Tony Stewart
39 - Kevin Harvick

Gibbs
All three 2013 drivers stay with the team. Unless Busch does something that warrants his dismissal...
11 - Denny Hamlin
18 - Kyle Busch
20 - Matt Kenseth

Germain
Casey Mears is fired and he is replaced by David Gilliland. Mears ends up in the Nationwide
13 - David Gilliland

Waltrip
Bowyer and Truex stay. Martin fully retires in 2014 and his place on the 55 team is taken by Travis Pastrada. Waltrip still runs the Daytona 500, Kentucky, and the other superspeedway races and he derps in all of them.
15 - Clint Bowyer
55 - Brian Vickers
56 - Martin Truex Jr

Roush Fenway Racing
Roush replaces Biffle with Trevor Bayne who finally gets a full time ride five years after winning the Daytona 500. Stenhouse and Edwards remain. Edwards wins the championship in 2014 after Johnson wins in in 2013.
16 - Trevor Bayne -R-
17 - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
99 - Carl Edwards

Front Row Motorsports
35 - Josh Wise
34 - David Ragan
38 - Greg Biffle
Biffle joins Front Row after losing his ride at Roush. David Ragan has life threatening injuries after a crash at Talladega and is replaced by DiBennendetto after Front Row can't convice Labonte to come out of retirement. As for the Ragan thing, it seems to me that there will be a fatal accident in NASCAR in the next three years. I really hope I'm wrong.

7 - Ryan Newman

JTG Racing
Bobby Labonte retires and Landon Cassil replaces him
47 - Landon Cassil

Hamilton Means Racing
Jimmy Means reaches deep into the abyss of obscure early 2000s drivers and pulls out Steve Park to start and park.
52 - Steve Park

Furniture Row Racing
Kurt Busch remains with the team unless he does something stupid.
78 - Kurt Busch

Burger King Racing
Cassil leaves and Reutimann moves to full time.
23 - David Reutimann
93 - Travis Kvapil

NEMCO
Joe Nemechek keeps rolling along...
87 - Joe Nemechek

HP Racing
HP still start and parks most races but occasionally runs the full race

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by pennst24 Wed Jun 12, 2013 8:12 pm

Penske Racing (Ford)
#2  Brad Keselowski - Miller Lite
#12  Sam Hornish Jr. - SKF
#22  Joey Logano - Shell/Pennzoil

Not much changes at Penske, as Keselowski continues to win races, but the switch to Ford really took him out of title domination. Logano doesn't do better here than at Gibbs, but Shell likes him. Hornish comes in and runs in the upper midfield.

Richard Childress Racing (Chevrolet)
#3 Austin Dillon -  Advocare
#27 Paul Menard - Menard's
#31 Kurt Busch -  Caterpillar
#33 Ty Dillon - Bass Pro Shops

Dillon takes the 29 and it becomes the 3, Kurt replaces Jeff Burton, RCR buys back Circle (Jerk) Sport and gives it to Ty Dillon after winning the 2014 NNS title.

Hendrick Motorsports (Chevrolet)
#5 Kasey Kahne - Great Clips
#24 Jeff Gordon - Drive to End Hunger/Axalta
#48 Jimmie Johnson - Gatorade
#88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. - Pepsi

No changes here other than sponsors, I think everyone currently at Hendrick will last through 2015.

Roush-Fenway Racing (Ford)
#6 Trevor Bayne - Cargill Beef
#16 Aric Almirola - 3M
#17 Ricky Stenhouse - Zest
#99 Travis Pastrana - Red Bull

Young guns galore at Roush, with Trevor Bayne in his second full season and Pastrana debuts as a rookie. Almirola moves from RPM after Biffle leaves. Roush goes from being second best behind Hendrick to being a cesspool of ****.

Richard Petty Motorsports (Dodge)
#9 Marcos Ambrose - Dewalt
#43 Greg Biffle - STP
#44 Ryan Newman - Smithfield Foods

Ambrose stays at RPM, they switch to Dodge, Biffle takes over the 43 in an essential swap with Almirola, Newman joins them in a third car.

Earnhardt - Ganassi Racing (Chevrolet)
#1 Jamie McMurray - McDonald's
#40 Kyle Larson - IDK
#42 Juan Pablo Montoya - Target

Larson joins, switch to Hendrick engines in 2013 proves successful as McMurray and JPM finally make the Chase in 2014 (lol ya rite)

Stewart-Haas Racing (Chevrolet)
#4 Kevin Harvick - Budweiser/Quicken Loans
#10 Danica Patrick - GoDaddy
#14 Tony Stewart - Mobil 1/Huggies

Harvick's in his second year at SHR, Danica's locked into a major contract halfway through 2014 after a rain-shortened win in the Daytona 500. Huggies comes aboard Stewart's car, for obvious reasons........

Joe Gibbs Racing (Toyota)
#11 Denny Hamlin - FedEx
#18 Kyle Busch - M&Ms
#20 Matt Kenseth - Dollar General
#81 Carl Edwards - Coca-Cola

Edwards had to GTFO Roush, so he finally came to Gibbs in a fourth car to re-partner Matt Kenseth. The team splits into 2 shops a la Hendrick: 11/18, and 20/81.

Michael Waltrip Racing (Toyota)
#15 Clint Bowyer - Five Hour Energy
#55 Brian Vickers - Aaron's
#56 Martin Truex Jr. - NAPA

Vickers takes over full-time duties from Mark Martin.

Wood Brothers Racing (Ford)
#21 Dave Blaney - Motorcraft

After several years with a young gun, the Wood Brothers hire the capable but unlucky Dave Blaney, and win the 2015 spring race at Talladega.

BK Racing (Dodge)
#23 Scott Riggs - Burger King
#83 Travis Kvapil - Burger King

This team has no idea what it is doing........

Turner Motorsports (Chevrolet)
#30 James Buescher - WolfPack/Rheem
#34 Nelson Piquet Jr. - Alpinestars

The Hendrick empire expands with its main NNS/Trucks satellite team moving up to cup with Hendrick equipment.

FAS Lane Racing (Ford)
#32 Timmy Hill/Paulie Harraka/aka pay drivers galore - Oxy Water (if they are in business, which they won't be)

Front Row Motorsports (Ford)
#34 David Ragan - Taco Bell
#38 David Gilliland - Love's Truck Stops

Tommy Baldwin Racing (Chevrolet)
#7 David Reutimann/Ryan Blaney - SANY

JR Motorsports (Chevrolet)
#84 Regan Smith - TaxSlayer

JTG Daughtery Racing (Dodge)
#47 Justin Allgaier - Brandt/Usual JTG Sponsors

Phoenix Racing (Chevrolet)
#51 Jeb Burton/Joey Coulter/Chase Elliott/Brian Scott/Mike Bliss/James Finch holds weekly signups to see who will drive it

Furniture Row Racing (Dodge)
#78 Landon Cassill - Furniture Row

Other Drivers:
AJ Allmendinger - In IndyCar for Penske, has been smashing things, including the turn 4 catchfence at Indy on the last lap while leading after running over Saavedra's tire after Saavedra was playing dicksuck with Marco Andretti and handed the win to Hinchcliffe.
Jeff Burton - Retired.
Bobby Labonte- Retired
Terry Labonte - Retired
Ken Schrader - Retired
Mark Martin - Raping the Truck Series
Mears - Useless
Stremme - NNS full-time
Yeley - Sprint cars/trucks
Scott Speed - Sports cars/Global Rallycross
Elliott Sadler - Forever alone throwing away NNS titles.

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by BigDaddy24 Sat Jun 15, 2013 5:26 am

My predictions:

EGR
1: McMurray
42: Larson (R)
JPM leaves NASCAR after 2014 and heads back to F1.

Penske
2: Keselowski
12: Hornish Jr.
22: R. Blaney (R)
Penske expands to 3 cars in 2014 after Hornish wins the
Nationwide title. Logano gets fired after 2014 as despite good runs, he bitches about how the team is so biased towards BK, and Penske soon gets fed up with it

Childress
3: A. Dillon
27: Menard
33: T. Dillon (R)
In a unsurprisingly controversial move, Austin Dillon drives the 3 car in 2014. Jeff Burton retires after the 2014 season and the 31 team now belongs to Turner Motorsports.

SHR
4: Harvick
10: Danica
14: Stewart
After a surprisingly lousy 2013 campaign, SHR gets it together in 2014. Newman leaves after 2013 and is replaced by Harvick. Both Stewart and Harvick make it into the chase in 2014 and Danica gets her 1st cup win in the July race at Daytona.

Hendrick
5: Kahne
24: J. Gordon
48: Johnson (2013 champ)
88: Earnhardt Jr.
Johnson dominates in 2013 and wins his 6th championship. But Hendrick slumps in 2014, with only Johnson making the chase.

Roush
6: Bayne
16: Smith
17: Stenhouse Jr. (2013 ROTY)
99: Edwards
Greg Biffle gets fired from Roush after very disappointing 2013 and 2014 seasons. Regan Smith replaces him in the 16 car. The team expands back to 4 cars in 2015, with Trevor Bayne driving the 6.

RGM
7: J. Long (R)/ R. Gordon
Dave Blaney retires after the 2014 season. Robby Gordon will run the road course races, while Johanna Long will run the ovals

RPM
9: Ambrose
43: Almirola
45: Annett (R)
RPM starts to become a powerhouse in 2014, with Ambrose sweeping the road course races and Almirola finishing 2nd in the points. Expands to 3 cars for the 2015 season

Gibbs
11: Hamlin
18: Sadler
20: Kenseth
81: Scott (2014 ROTY)
Kyle Busch gets booted from the team after deliberately wrecking one driver too many. The team expands to 4 cars in 2014 with Brian Scott winning Rookie of the Year honors. Elliott Sadler replaces Kyle Busch in the 18 car.

Germain
13: Logano
Despite respectable runs, Casey Mears gets booted from the 13 to make room for Joey Logano.

MWR
15: Bowyer (2014 champ)

NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season Empty Re: NSCS in 2015: An Imagined Season

Post by Backmarker Thu Nov 06, 2014 11:13 am

So, let's see how much of this I got right...

Penske Racing (Ford)
#2- Brad Keselowski- Miller Lite
#12- Will Power (R)- Verizon
#22- Joey Logano- Shell/Pennzoil

Will Power finally wins the Indycar championship in 2014 and decides to move to NASCAR, taking the Verizon sponsorship with him. Verizon is able to circumvent the cellular provider ban by advertising their home phone, internet, and TV services.
Joey Logano finally breaks out in Cup in 2014, securing his future with Penske.

Richard Childress Racing (Chevrolet)
#3 Austin Dillon- McDonald's/Rheem/Bass Pro Shops
#31 Kurt Busch- Caterpillar
Earnhardt-Ginassi and RCR merge after 2013. The #29 team becomes the #3 team and merges with the EGR #1 team, with Dillon moving up to Cup as planned. Kurt Busch is signed to the #31 for a year to keep Ty's seat warm.

Hendrick Motorsports (Chevrolet)
#5- Kasey Khane- Farmers Insurance/Drive to End Hunger
#48- Jimmie Johnson- Lowes
#88- Dale Earnhardt Jr.- Target

Jeff Gordon retires after the 2014 season. After their primary sponsors reduce their #of races, the #5 and #24 teams merge, with Farmers and DTEH both sponsoring the car. The National Guard leaves NASCAR after 2013, but Target moves over from Earnhardt-Ganassi to fill the gap.

(lol)

Richard Petty Motorsports (Dodge)
#9 Michael Annett - Pilot/Flying J
#43 Juan Pablo Montoya- Smithfield

Dodge returns in 2015, although not as competitive as in years past. Marcos Ambrose decides to leave NASCAR after 2013 despite winning his first oval races and making the chase. Michael Annett returns after joining the Cup series in 2014. Montoya moves over here as well after EGR closes.

(lol)

Stewart-Haas Racing (Chevrolet)
#10 Danica Patrick- GoDaddy
#14 Tony Stewart- Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1

#29 Kevin Harvick- Budweiser/Quicken Loans

Newman does not return to SHR and the #39 team becomes Harvick's #29 team, contrary to rumors of the team having 4 full-time cars. Not much else changes here.

Joe Gibbs Racing (Toyota)
#11 Denny Hamlin- FedEx
#18 Elliott Sadler- M&Ms
#20 Matt Kenseth- Dollar General

Hamlin wins his first championship in 2014. Kyle is surprisingly not retained after 2013, supposedly at the request of the #18's sponsors. Sadler takes over his ride, and is competitive but wins few races. After steadily decreasing its participation, Home Depot leaves NASCAR after 2013, with Dollar General taking over the #20 for the whole season.

Michael Waltrip Racing (Toyota)
#15 Clint Bowyer- Five Hour Energy
#55 Brian Vickers- Aaron's

#56 Martin Truex Jr.- NAPA
#00 Michael Waltrip (Part Time)- Aaron's

Vickers goes to the #55 full time in 2014 as expected, and Waltrip continues to overstay his welcome in NASCAR. Not much else to say here.

Wood Brothers Racing (Ford)
#21 Aric Almirola- Motorcraft

BK Racing (Dodge)
#23 AJ Allmendinger- Burger King
#83 Michael McDowell- Burger King

Turner Motorsports (Toyota)
#30 James Buescher (R)- Great Clips/Exide/Duroline
Turner moves up to Cup with Toyota, taking Buescher with them.

FAS Lane Racing (Ford)
#32 Pay drivers

Front Row Motorsports (Toyota)
#34 Landon Cassil
#38 Scott Speed

Tommy Baldwin Racing (Chevrolet)
#36 David Reutimann- Various Sponsors

Dave Blaney retires after 2013 to focus on his son's career. (Maybe?)

JTG Daughtery Racing (Dodge)
#47 Cole Whitt- An absolute sh!tton of sponsors

2014 Rookie of the Year Whitt returns.

Phoenix Racing (Dodge)
#51 Travis Kvapil

Kyle Busch Motorsports (Toyota)
#54 Kyle Busch- Monster Eenrgy

Kyle brings his team to Cup after getting booted from Gibbs. It doesn't work out that well.

Furniture Row Racing (Dodge)
#78 Jamie McMurray- Furniture Row

R3 Motorsports (Multiple Manufacturers)
#03 Casey Mears/Robert Richardson Jr. -North Texas Pipe

Surprisingly, they're still around, with Mears moving over from the dissolved Germain team and driving everything except the plate races, with some guy nobody's ever heard of driving those races.
