2014 United States Grand Prix - Formula 1
No Caterham. No Marussia. No Vettel in qualifying. Four cars will be knocked out of each of the first two periods of said qualifying session on Saturday. Hamilton's romping off with the title.
And look at Romain Grosjean's helmet; who knew he was such a huge Matt LeBlanc fan?

Vettel is sporting a Captain America helmet on the weekend:

EDIT: Christian Horner has said Vettel WILL take part in at least Q1. This means he'll have to take a sixth engine, which means a pit lane start.

The way things are going, this might actually happen:

Don't blame 'em. Absolutely no excuses that Marussia fails instead of being able to use their points-paying finish in Monaco as a building block, not just a blip on the radar. Super Aguri finished in the points twice and still went away. Minardi wouldn't have survived in this atmosphere. Imagine how things would've been different if Stoddart's sudden changing of the strategy had gone the way he thought and Jos Verstappen had won the '03 Brazilian GP. Bernie's so senile, he can't see the trouble on the horizon. If Honda fails at McLaren, and they leave again, then what? It's a disaster, and Bernie needs to address it, instead of being a snarky jackass who keeps taking the sport to countries where the citizens don't want it.

Some of it though is also on some of the big teams *cough*ferrari*cough*redbull*cough*. If there were some forward thinking teams instead of teams looking at only themselves, we'd probably have budget caps that would help out these small teams

I get the feeling that if this happens, Formula 1 is gonna be a complete joke next year.

Rosberg snatches the pole.

Another Mercedes lockout on the front row, while Sauber's Adrian Sutil qualifies in 10th place, making it the first time Sauber makes it to Q3.
Re: 2014 United States Grand Prix - Formula 1
Marcus Ericsson will drive for Sauber in 2015...if they're still around.

Hamilton wins to become F1's all-time leading race winner for British drivers; Perez handed a seven-place grid penalty for Brazil for a needless first lap crash which knocked out Sutil, meaning Adrian still hasn't completed a lap at COTA.

Didn't get to watch the whole thing, I was out apple picking with my family. I watched the last half, and it was awesome. Good race, good win Hammy.
Vergne almost Grosjean'd Grosjean at one point. Then again, Grosjean was quite literally dirt-tracking on those last few laps.

Where does the FIA pull out a random number like 7?? 5 is okay but seven is just odd...crl wrote:Perez handed a seven-place grid penalty for Brazil for a needless first lap crash which knocked out Sutil, meaning Adrian still hasn't completed a lap at COTA.
