NASCAR Weekend at Dover and Las Vegas
Round 3 of 10 in the chase, and the first elimination round after this race, where 4 cars go packing, and get their old points back. Both Penske cars are on to the next round. Dover last time was a weird race, with part of the track coming off and hitting McMurray's car. Johnson won his 9th career race here at Dover. He's may be under-performing, but this is Johnson's track, just like Lowe's/Charlotte back in the day. Will Penske continue their hot streak? Or will a surprise winner like Allmendigner win? (A.J's really good here).
ENTRY LIST :

The Nationwide season also nears it's end, with a second race at Dover this year, Cuppies are back, but will Chase or another regular slay the giants? So no Gaughn repeat. Kyle won last time, braking a 4 race win streak by Logano, who is in the field as well. Milka Duno is likely going to start the race (This will end well eh?), since only 40 cars are on the entry list.

Trucks return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway in their yearly race, with a tight battle for the title, with Matt Crafton leading teammate Johnny Sauter by 7 points. Last time here, Timothy Peters won, usually this race has some not expected winners, like Piquet Junior, in 2012 and Peters last year. No Cuppies. Jones returns to the 51, Hornaday returns with NTS in the 9.

Re: NASCAR Weekend at Dover and Las Vegas
This is the gauge for the 48 team. If they are outpaced by the Penske cars and Harvick here, you can mark my words they won't be in the final four come Homestead.
Ultimately if someone wants to be in the final four they need to outpace or at least run with the Penske cars and Harvick.

Re: NASCAR Weekend at Dover and Las Vegas
Pretty much, considering Dover is Johnson's playground. Although I think he'll probably make the final four anyway (because Martinsville starts the 3rd round), but at this rate he won't beat the Penske cars.day500champ1 wrote:This is the gauge for the 48 team. You won't be hard to spot, seeing as how you'll probably be the only one there for the Nationwide race.conrail1990 wrote:I will be at the Nationwide race Saturday in Turn 1. Just look for the fat guy taking pictures lol

Or Goodyear could screw over Jimmie with random tire failures again.

I honestly think that it was the right time for a multi-year contract. I will admit that Logano this year is finally showing that he has what it takes to win races.
Re: NASCAR Weekend at Dover and Las Vegas
Dover announced that they are looking at demolishing some of their stands since they are just being used for ad space. Dale Jr also tweeted a picture of what looks like light pole bases around the track.

I honestly think Logano's success is because the team he's with right now has the best equipment in the field. I think next year will really prove it for me if he's actually gotten good now.

Honestly, last year did it for me. Penske struggled last year in the switch to Ford. This year, they've learned and turned their equipment around.
Next year is going to be interesting to see who gets a handle the reduced horsepower.

Agreed. Logano is good because the team is good.
It will be interesting to see if Almirola can dig out of his little hole and move on to the next round.

People forget last year when Keselowski missed the chase and Logano didn't with the same team...

Timmy Hill's 2 seconds slower than Harvick. Also Milka Dunno is slow as well, even in her K&N East.
Quicken Loans Extends Relationship with RCR and Newman: Detroit-based Quicken Loans, the nation's second largest retail mortgage lender, announced it will return as a sponsor of Richard Childress Racing (RCR) in 2015, serving as a primary sponsor of driver Ryan Newman and the #31 Quicken Loans Chevy for selected races (was 12 races in 2012). The 2015 season will mark the fourth year Quicken Loans has teamed with Newman. "We're looking forward to partnering with RCR and Ryan in the upcoming season and continue this strong partnership," said Jay Farner, President and Chief Marketing Officer for Quicken Loans. "In the meantime, we'll be cheering on Ryan and the #31 team as they make a run in this year's Chase."
"It is great to have Quicken Loans back with me next year," said Newman. "They have been loyal partners for several years and have become like family to me. As I continue to push forward in the Chase, it gives me increased confidence to know I have partners and friends that are standing with me not only this year, but also beyond."
"Quicken Loans has been a tremendous addition to the RCR family this year," said Richard Childress, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RCR. "We are excited to be so closely aligned to a partner that values collaboration, technology and speed as much as we do."(RCR)(9-26-2014)

Harvick wins pole for Dover. He has 7 poles this year. He had 6 in his whole career before 2014.

In the last 12 months he got 8 poles. The rest of his career (12 and a half years) he had 5.Lucstar88 wrote:Harvick wins pole for Dover. He has 7 poles this year. He had 6 in his whole career before 2014.
The last time someone who wasn't Harvick, Keselowski, or Gordon won pole, was Kyle Larson at Pocono, 8 races ago.

Logano was one of those who directly benefited from the MWR shenanigans. He was out until Bowyer "spun".

Thing is, that wasn't even an insult. They can get lost now. Karma is a motherf'er. They'll all get theirs. I encourage everyone to buy merchandise from teams that don't totally take a crap on their fans. Lost all respect for that piece of trash Tommy Baldwin.

Glad to see more sponsors coming aboard the 7 and 36. I don't condone using the 37 (mostly) for start & park reasons. Get Dave Blaney back in there and run some more full races with him, especially Talladega. You may be pleasantly surprised

Tom, you send a big check and then you can do whatever you want with the 37

I guarantee that if was directed at you, you'd feel the same way Tom does right now. It wasn't directed at me, and I thought it was total bullshit the way they reacted. Doesn't matter if the team owner didn't know about it or not. Ignorance is not an excuse.

In all honestly telling a team that you don't "condone" something is a really "i'm above you" thing to say. Sure you can argue the team should've maintained professionalism but at the same time basically saying "oh you're a crappy start-n-park team and should do this" is a really crap thing to say to an underfunded team and an average person would probably have the same reaction if they were in TBR shoes.
It's interesting cause start-n-parking has been irrelevant as hell on the Cup side this year as it seems like all those lower teams that we've seen parked over the year have finally build up enough money to run full races.

You have some nerve to say that. My comments were intended as the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you are saying. To say that I took a holier than thou attitude towards them is completely ridiculous. There is no way that I should have been condemned for pretty much inquiring about what was going on there and making subtle suggestions. Others don't get attacked for it, so why the hell should I? No matter what you or anyone else would like to think, I ain't the bad guy here.
The whole damn thing has been blown out of proportion, it's over, and it's time to move the hell on. I shouldn't have said a damn thing about this anywhere because now the lot of you are forming opinions that are just completely the opposite of what I had intended, and now it's really starting to bother the hell out of me.

I'll be honest i came in really late and didn't realize Vbooy pretty much wrote the same thing as me above. So yeah i miss posts like i miss words in my sentences from time-to-time
But yeah to repeat it's looking at it from the team's perspective and they probably get that type of criticism a lot.

Yup. Totally this. Especially when Tommy Baldwin apparently runs his own social media. It obviously warrants that kind of reaction.
I'm not going to lie, when I first heard that whole exchange, I kinda laughed, but not at Tom -- I laughed at the fact that it's an INCREDIBLY DOUCHEY thing to say back to some random ass guy on Facebook.
I wonder what Joe Gibbs's Facebook is like... wonder how many people are there bitching about Kyle Busch being in the 18 and how they should totally replace him with Brian Scott.

Apart from a negative response, I don't see much wrong. Considering the fact that Cup has just been barely getting a full field, and the fact that the 36 doesn't have full-time sponsorship, throwing in a 3rd car to S&P is literally free money.NeverNeutral wrote:Tom:

I'm not going to lie, when I first heard that whole exchange, I kinda laughed, but not at Tom -- I laughed at the fact that it's an INCREDIBLY DOUCHEY thing to say back to some random ass guy on Facebook.
I wonder what Joe Gibbs's Facebook is like... wonder how many people are there bitching about Kyle Busch being in the 18 and how they should totally replace him with Brian Scott.
This.
It's probably a fact that Tommy Baldwin himself isn't the one typing up responses and such (and if that's the case, that just makes that worse).
There are times to be professional no matter who is typing the response. That's one of them. Yeah, I'm sure the "Don't S&P" message is said a bunch, but it still doesn't warrant that kind of response.

Re: NASCAR Weekend at Dover and Las Vegas
Kevin Harvick and Bad Brad have been the only cars out from. Kasey Kahne is in deep crap now, 29th and 2 laps down after pitting early.

And the dominant car of the day of Harvick has a major issue. Looks like it might be another race where he's led the most and fails to win.

Richmond was more hype, and more disappointing. At least this race you knew it still would of sucked overall.Michael29Shell wrote:Spannerhead29 (Nelson) wrote:Most disappointing race ever from a hype point.

Pretty meh race, but happy for Jeff Gordon. For the first time in years Jeff Gordon is championship material. And that's not even because of this asinine points system in place.
