COTA Loading Problem

I recently download Circuit of the Americas from NascarFunFacts. When I try to load it in the game, the game always tells me "could not load the track". I tried both the .exe and .rar file and neither worked even with the extra five files provided. Any help on how to fix this or a better place to download the track? Thanks!

I've had the same problem, myself, and have also not been able to figure out how to fix it.

People have a 50/50 shot at getting the track to work from what I have seen

What kind of mod are you using? If your track folder doesn't have the physics of that particular mod, then it won't load the track. The file you likely need looks something like sim.fast.XXXX, with XXXX being the physics of the mod. Try copying one of those from a similar track with the physics of the mod you're using and see if that works.

The track creator added some files to the shared folder instead of locating them into the track folder.

On the track download page (pg.2 of 5), below the the Download COTA tab, there is the text,

These 5 files may help if you are having trouble loading the track.
These files need to be unziped and moved to the tracks\shared folder.
You only need to download this if you have problems.

To the right of that text is a box labeled "sunoco".
Click on it and save the file.
Install the 5 files into NASCAR Racing 2003 Season\tracks\shared folder.

I used 2 computers to do this successfully!
