2014 Honda Indy Toronto - Verizon IndyCar Series
There are six races left - six! - as we head into the last doubleheader of the season. Will TK finally get that win? Is RHR making a march to another title? Can Helio hang on to the lead this time? Can Dixon sweep the weekend again? Will Rahal finish in the Top 10 in either race this week without a lucky strategy call towards the end? Will Will piss someone else off? I can't wait!

Meanwhile, the Lights will only race on Sunday, AND, they'll have more than 10 cars!

If 2 Indy Races wasn't good enough, Pirelli World Challenge and Stadium Super Trucks join them in Not-New York for some races. Can't have much more of a stacked race weekend then that.
Re: 2014 Honda Indy Toronto - Verizon IndyCar Series
Race 1 should be interesting. Seabass on pole

I don't think the IndyCar chaplain has ever actually seen a race if he's praying for the rain to go away.PYLrulz wrote:Look at the weather...

Man, that looks VERY wet.
So, anyone has any bets on if the Indy guys will try to replicate what the F1 guys did in Belgium in 1998?!?

And the pace car derps it up. It is pretty slick though.
EDIT: And Power's spun. Apparently Cooper is gonna be estatic about that.

Rule-making on the fly. Letting Power fix the car screams of favoritism by the officials.

Well... to be honest, he is starting from the rear, if they can actually make the freaking start...
Cause it's Indycar stupid idea to start with 0 VISIBILITY!!! That's why Power, Briscoe, and the pace car wrecked, a.k.a (2001 All-Star)

Why does it matter, Power would choke away a championship even if IndyCar stacked the deck for him

He could choke away a championship even if he had it locked up with 3 races to go.

No, it hasn't.
Anyway, hey, IndyCar, here's an idea: If you can't race on a street circuit safely in the rain, then get rid of all street circuits except Long Beach, and take this race to Mosport.

Not sure if they can actually run a double-header tomorrow, cause Monday is off-limits

Reading that Power, Montoya, and Briscoe will all be allowed to retain their original starting positions.

Haven't they raced in worse? I can see if standing water was an issue, but it seems like drivers were complaining about visibility. It seems like the rain at Barber was heavier than what we saw today.

And it's something listening to some of these people who act all shocked when one suggests they should have raced by going "Oh, you want another Dan Wheldon situaton, don't you!?!" or something along those lines. The track was pretty wet, but it was not THAT wet. The F1 guys have raced in much worse in Monaco, which is MUCH tighter than Toronto, and the only reason why the pace car spun out, it appears to be the driver derped somehow. Will Power wrecking it on the aborted start... drivers have done that type of thing when it's dry.

The favoritism of Penske is starting to get ridiculous. I can understand Fisher's frustrations.
EDIT: Bourdais showing his old form back in the day.
EDIT (2): Oh come on. Power clearly ran over that equipment, yet no penalty. B to the S.

So great to see Bourdais win again!
And what a recovery from Pagenaud - if he wins the title this year, that drive will be a major part of why. Credit goes to his strategy as well, that was a great call to bring him in the first stint, perfectly set up the rest of his race.

I thought the races were good overall. Although it was a wacky weekend. Race 1 - 6.5/10. Race 2 - 7.5/10.

Pretty wacky race with some good racing as well.
I'm actually really intrigued if the title fight comes down to Castroneves and Power, The Bridesmaids of Indycar championship wise go at it for their first.

Not really a Bourdais fan, but it's nice to see a small team win. As for Race 2, what exactly were Coyne and SFHR trying to accomplish? Conway pulled off the brilliant move to switch back to slicks when he realized the track conditions were good enough. And right when RHR's title hopes got a lifeline, they start swirling around the drain again. And as for you, Signore Filippi, what the hell were you doing today?
