Herr's Chase The Taste 200 presented by Federated Car Care

ARCA hits the midway point today at Winchester Speedway, Grant Enfinger and Mason Mitchell continue a fierce battle for the title. Enfinger's four wins have helped him earn a 35 point lead over Mitchell, who has yet to win a race. But could the half mile of Winchester be the place where Mitchell finally gets his first win, or will pole sitter Ken Schrader continue an impressive stock car career with another win. The race is live at 2:00 PM ET on CBS Sports Network.

The big story this week however has been Carter 2 Motorsports, which runs the #40 and #97 cars for the full season. Late last season, team co-owner and driver Roger Carter was sent to prison for an RV rental scam, while Dana Carter, the listed car owner of both the #40 and #97 teams, was given 30 months of probation. Earlier this week, Carter absconded from her probation and her whereabouts are currently unknown. As a result, neither the #40 or the #97 cars made a lap this week, and it appears that ARCA has sent both teams home. The #40 appears on the starting grid, but does not have a position next to it, and the #97 is missing from the grid. If the #40 car is not allowed to run, there will be only 21 cars on the grid.

Wow. I'm surprised no one commented on this considering how wild that finish was.

Chalk this up as another chapter in "The Chronicles of Mason Mitchell's 2nd Place Finishes". I really feel bad for the poor kid. He's deserved to win about 4 or 5 of these races this season, but he can never hold on until the checkered flag for some reason. Last week, Theriault doorchecked the s**t out of him and drove away in Michigan and this week in Winchester, Brandon Jones decides that this is his one and only chance to ever win in ARCA (which, knowing Turner-Scott drivers, it probably is since they run one race and then stay forever in Trucks), divebombs the hell out of Mitchell in 3, stuffs the 98 in the wall and wins.

I know that it's ARCA and you're all going to rag on me about why I'm complaining about apparently one of the least credible racing series to exist and that what I'm saying is irrelevant and I'm not making sense, but Mitchell's deserved to win and it sucks to see people like Theriault and Jones coming in and robbing him.

Dunno why he was mad. That's what you call last lap racing.
