Sahlen's 6 Hours of the Glen Empty Sahlen's 6 Hours of the Glen

After Le Mans, the sports car world centers on Watkins Glen, a center of racing since the late 1940s. The USCR cars will be taking to the track, and there are some interesting news items, although the race remains a few weeks away.

- The withdrawal of the Pickett team means that 8Star has an opportunity to return. However the Venezuelan owned operation will not run the Corvette DP that they ran last year nor the Ferrari 458 Italia they enter in the WEC, but a Ligier JSP2. That entry will occur later this year. Oak Racing may also switch from a Morgan/Nissan to a Ligier.
- After a spectacular fall from grace that saw him tumble from the top step of the Le Mans podium to a Brazilian jail cell, Jaime Melo is back! He will be driving the Krohn Racing Ferrari along with the team's longtime drivers Nic Jonasson and Tracy Krohn.
- Sage Karam will join Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett in the Ganassi Riley Ford. The team's #02 car was not entered because that crew will be working on Ganassi's IndyCar program that weekend.
- The SRT Vipers will be running a throwback livery (red with white stripes) recalling their successes with the Oreca team in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
- The drivers on several cars are still TBA, particular Muehler Motorsports America and Park Place Motorsports.

Wow, good for Jaime to be back in a racecar.

For the ones that don't know, he was arrested in Paraná after being caught driving under the influence and with a suspended driver's license.

And if I remember correctly, he was resisting arrest of the Brazilian Military cops. Nontheless, great to hear and hopefully he's all better from this point on. He's certainly alot luckier then poor JJ Lehto  Sad

The race is on! Corvette leads in GTLM while Turner is at the fore in GTD. In prototypes Action Express leads Spirit of Daytona and Oak Racing while Starworks leads the LMPCs.
