Well then...

I remember both Andretti cars being quite smashy that race but didn't suspect cocaine use. At least he admits he has a problem.

Real shame...though it's good that he admits he has a problem. I hope he gets himself straightened out. His career might be over but you never know, I thought Allmendinger was done for and he came back.

On one hand, I'm hoping that he's reasonable enough to take this as a huge, unfortunate wake-up call, and he sounds pretty remorseful about it, owning up to his mistakes. But even more unfortunate is the fact that it took a positive test and the end of his racing career (I'm hearing bans of two, possibly four years for positive drug tests) to get to that point. When he said he wasn't going to be in Punta del Este for health reasons, I definitely wasn't expecting something like this...

It's very sad. As somebody who has occasionally rooted for Franck, I hope we see him back on the track someday. It's not impossible...Tomas Enge failed two drug tests and he's still driving. I think there's a few people who make it in pro racing and lose control of their lives, and I'd imagine that's what happened here.

The only thing AJ was stupid in with that whole thing is being at a top level in his sport, and not checking anything through before taking it. How many times, regardless of sport, where someone takes something only to find out that it had something in it that was on that sports banned list?
