Whitmarsh promises "headline grabbing" technical team signing for 2014
Apparently, Ross Brawn has told Mercedes he'll be leaving at the end of the season. That's flung the door open for rumors. The rumors have been denied at the moment. You can read more of Whitmarsh here:

Direct swap with Lowe. This was almost certain at the start of this year when Paddy joined Mercedes, just happened later than it would have been expected.

Perhaps now Mclaren will have a fast car from the start instead of having a mediocre car by mid season like they've had for the past few years

Learned today it is unlikely that Ross Brawn is going to join McLaren. Any rumour is to force Mercedes into confirming a major role in the team. This comes from speculation of a member in Ferrari, so not necessarily nor anywhere near correct but it's all I know.

Brawn or Newey. Maybe a part of the 2000s Ferrari machine but nobody but Brawn is available: Todt is at the FIA and I can't imagine Paulo Martinelli would leave Ferrari.

Pat Fry was recently deposed of his position as Technical Director of Chassis at Ferrari when James Allison joined which could provide him as an option and Paolo Martinelli no longer works for Ferrari too. He stopped working with Ferrari at the start of 2007, and he works with FIAT instead now. Outside of Fry, there is only Brawn. Newey leaving Red Bull is as unlikely as Sergio Canamasas winning next years F1 World Championship.Alpineopossum wrote:Brawn or Newey.
