Bank of America 500 - Sprint Cup Series
I'm a bit surprised that no one started these up yet. Anyway, Kevin Harvick was in victory lane last Sunday at Kansas for his 3rd win of the season. Now he's back in the hunt for the championship along with Kenseth, Johnson, and Kyle Busch (who's miserable streak at Kansas continued). We hit the halfway point of the Chase with the only night race of the ten and the only one on a Saturday night at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Harvick was victorious here in May in the 600-mile race, can he do it again and bring himself even closer to the 20 and 48? Can anyone else in the Chase put themselves back in the hunt in time for the 2nd half of the Chase?
We have TWO debuts this weekend: Brian Scott in the 4th RCR car (#33) and Kyle Larson for Turner Motorsports (#51).

Re: Bank of America 500 - Sprint Cup Series
lets see if Larson's ready to take over the 42. also, never heard of Brian Scott (not a regular watcher of the lower 2 divisions, only seen Nationwide at Daytona, Road America, Mid Ohio, and the trucks at Eldora, which might be the race of the year. Basically, I watch the races at tracks the Cup series doesn't go to, and Daytona)

I'm interested to see how the two Nationwide guys do. Should hopefully be a decent race.

He drives for RCR in nationwide. Scott has big money from his family's Idaho based resorts called Shore Lodge and its related properties. He's a decent driver but he's there because of his money. He's probably the only driver from Idaho to race in the cup series.Pyrozooka0 wrote:lets see if Larson's ready to take over the 42. also, never heard of Brian Scott (not a regular watcher of the lower 2 divisions, only seen Nationwide at Daytona, Road America, Mid Ohio, and the trucks at Eldora, which might be the race of the year. BREAKING NEWS: Travis Kvapil was arrested on Wednesday on charges of assault and false imprisonment of his wife.
http://www.mooresvilletribune.com/news/article_f02b0d66-311e-11e3-af6b-001a4bcf6878.html (Yes, the article says Kvapil won a race this season, I don't know either.)
It would be a good assumption that Kvapil is out for this race (and probably out of a ride), so thoughts on who may replace him?
My guesses would be either Michael McDowell or Reed Sorenson.

From Jayski:
BK Racing posted a photo of Kvapil and Reutimann's race cars on Twitter around 1:00pm/et on Wednesday showing both cars with ribbons supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Awareness. That photo was pulled from Twitter after news of Kvapil's arrest broke.(WBTV)(10-9-2013)
Oh, the irony.

Second driver from Idaho. The other is Jeff Krogh, who ran two races in 1996.Alpineopossum wrote:He's probably the only driver from Idaho to race in the cup series.

Sorry for the double post, but BK Racing has announced that Travis Kvapil will stay in the #93 car. The team says that they will stick with Kvapil even with his legal troubles.

BRAD FUCKING KESELOWSKI!
For the season he's had, he's needed this, and he won a chase race before Kyle, but I guess those Nationwide wins are worth something, right?

Good for Kez. He's having a better Chase than his teammate.

Keselowski and Kahne putting on a show late. But, Bad Brad gets it (sorry Rykia).
More importantly, Kenseth gains one point on Johnson, despite Johnson's dominance. Lead is now 4 points with Harvick back by 29 (lol).
And is everybody's bodies ready for Talladega?

Also actually bummed that Brad and Ford won, because I would of found it interesting that 1-2 in 2012 points standings both go winless in 2013.
