Brian Scott wins the pole for the race. Matt Kenseth will start second.
Also, in what may be a first time in NASCAR history, a Fraternity is sponsoring a NASCAR stock car. Kappa Sigma is sponsoring the #24 car driven by Ryan Ellis for this race. Ellis is apparently a member of Kappa Sigma.

I want to know why the hell NASCAR felt it was necessary to throw a caution for the Hal Martin incident. He barely rubbed the wall but they threw the caution, and because of a chain of events, it might have changed who won the race. Just seems like a really bad call.

you know what, I've been one of the most ardent defenders of the NNS series here on EFR, but even I skipped this race....and it looks like I'm glad I did.
Thought lets face it, RCR has some good equipment, especially if you're making a truck level talent, paydriver like Brian Scott look good.

You don't hold off Kenseth, Kyle, and Kez without having some sort of talent. Anyone who's opinion on Scott didn't change did not watch tonight....He was on it tonight and the only way someone got around him was a mistake of his own.Mother of Invention wrote:you know what, I've been one of the most ardent defenders of the NNS series here on EFR, but even I skipped this race....and it looks like I'm glad I did.

Great race none-the-less. Hope we see more of Brian Scott at the helm of the front.

uh a "Pay Driver" is someone who races with a monetary backer who pays a team that hires him.
talent level has nothing to do with this, though you have to figure after all the tore up cars last year, RCR wasn't exactly hiring him for his driving. I guess you could say that got a good deal out of it.

Re: 2013 Virginia 529 College Savings 250 - Nationwide Series
I find it very hard to argue with this... RCR really has made Scott look good. If Hornish or Austin Dillon (or any other competent driver) was in Scott's position, they wouldn't have choked it away. They might have still lost the race, but not that quickly...Mother of Invention wrote:Thought lets face it, RCR has some good equipment, especially if you're making a truck level talent, paydriver like Brian Scott look good.

If Cuppies are still in Nationwide next year, then you know what? I'm actually going to be done with that shit Series.
Re: 2013 Virginia 529 College Savings 250 - Nationwide Series
Scott was the class of the field last night, whether it be due to equipment driver or both. The only time anyone passed him was when he made one small mistake. I'm still extremely impressed with him from last night's performance. I really hope to see more of him performing like that.

Re: 2013 Virginia 529 College Savings 250 - Nationwide Series
Yes cause you can totally hold off Kyle and crew on equipment alone...I'd venture to argue that last night was all on driving skill for Scott as it's obvious Austin is the #1 concern at that team. Plus the fact Scott's been on a hot streak as of late leads me to believe he's actually improving.Cynon wrote:I find it very hard to argue with this... RCR really has made Scott look good.
