Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
Approved by Cynon via ISRA TeamSpeak
Welcome to 1955. The age of really simple cars and really simple drivers. Back in the day, it wasn't about who had the most sponsors, or which small teams would have to start and park because of no money. In this case, EVERY TEAM pretty much has no money! It's the first of its kind here on EFR...it's...

Are you painting your car(s)?: (If you're not painting your car, I will paint you a car. It won't look fancy though )
All cars/drivers will be rated 0-100 (to make things totally unpredictable), except for aggression. I will let you guys do that however you want.

Fields for non-major events are limited to 26 cars. To get to 26, there will be first round qualifying to determine who makes the field and who doesn't (basically I run an extra practice session, because qualifying races are so 2010). The top 8 in points will be exempt from the opening round qualifying stage. Once the remaining 18 spots in the race weekend are decided, practice, qualifying, final practice, and subsequently the race will be run.
This qualifying procedure will take effect after race #1. For race #1, all the entries (except for the cars that win the two preseason races) will be subject to first round qualifying.
There you go, have fun gents

Re: Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
Anyone who tries to sign up an RJ spoof will have their entry disallowed and will not be allowed to enter the series, period. Since the races will probably be fail, I'd at least like the sign-ups to be semi-serious.

Re: Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
Rykia, please change your number. NavyCook got to #4 first.
Also, since it looks like the series is going to hit its minimum requirement to start (26), I will continue to allow sign-ups and the schedule will be altered to allow all the teams to compete in race #1 (granted that we get no more than 42). If we get a 43rd driver, then knockout qualifying will be held (I will explain the rules for that when we get there).

The two preseason races allow teams to secure their status in the early races by paying out 20 championship points to the winner, effectively locking them in for Bowman Gray, and potentially jump-starting them towards a championship season. Plus, they will be a good test of my qualifying structure.
All races are limited to 26 cars unless they're one of the major races on the tour. The major races will host up to 42 cars (or how many the track can actually hold).

I'm going to try. Pictures and write-ups are plan B if I fail so badly. I would however like to give videos a try.

One word, No.
As in no very obvious ripping off of TV Shows and or movies, and or anything else involved in the media.

I apologize for not getting you guys more progress on this, been caught up with trying to find a job and being sick due to the change of season. I will try to get back to painting cars for those who need them in the coming days. I also need to finish out the schedule for Derp '55 Season 1. Feel free to suggest tracks

Re: Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
I have completed the schedule, but there will be two pre-season races that will be run once I get done painting all the cars that need to be painted, and the cars that others are painting are sent to me. They have also been added to the schedule post (bottom of page 1).
I am going to set a deadline of October 22 (That's a Saturday) for all cars to be in to me. Don't worry about rating them, the NRatings program will let me mass-rate them

Due to my own laziness, I am extending the deadline for all entries. If I do not have them in by OCTOBER 31 @ 11:59 PM, you will be omitted from the entry lists for the pre-season races.
That is all. Happy Derping.

Re: Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
Signups are CLOSED. There's more than enough cars in the field for Season 1, so we're gonna go with it as it is now. One more reminder to have your cars in by October 31st so that you can be in the pre-season races.

Re: Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
One last reminder: All cars for preseason competition are due TONIGHT by 11:59 PM EST. If I do not have your cars by then, you will not participate in preseason events.
I hope to begin the process for the start of the preseason in the next week or so. I will be looking to do the videos in two parts, a Brock Beard-esque starting grid, then the actual race video itself. Something different for at least the preseason while I experiment on the best ways to make the videos the most watchable for you, the participants & viewers.

Re: Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
Rockford Pre-Qualifier Coverage
Due to the track only being able to hold 23 cars (that includes the player car which will never start ), the 30 cars that made the trip to Rockford had to be split into two groups. Also, due to an official error, the groups were not evenly proportioned. 16 cars took to the track in round 1 of pre-qualifying. There were a handful of incidents during pre-qualifying round 1. Walt McConnell in the #70 car hooked the #08 of Earl Pitts which caused one of the bigger failures of the evening, which caught several cars. McConnell was called to the Derp55 equivalent of the official's hauler, called the "Bad Box". Earlier in the session, Earl Pitts caused two avoidable accidents and was called to the Bad Box. In other official rulings, the #47 of Jack Swanson was warned for aggressive driving after he appeared to try and bump a few cars out of his way throughout the session. As for the on-track action, the #82 of Earl Ray Brooks was able to clock in the fastest time of the session. He put up a time of 12.189 with about 20 minutes left in the session and the time held up, and Brooks essentially locked himself into the race with his fine effort.
Group 2 saw conditions get a little warmer and a bit windier, but that did not stop William Richardson in the #4 from putting up the best time of the evening, with a 12.083. There were less incidents on-track, but the incidents that did happen were in the pits and twice as stupifying as the incidents in Group 1. Shinjuro Takoto, coming to us all the way from Japan, got into the back of Macy Hartford's #79, and apparently having been stunned by Takoto's attack from behind, Hartford decided to go into the infield grass and do a little wall-riding. Hartford was promptly warned by officials for "excessive failure", while Takoto was called to the Bad Box. Other than that, it was an uneventful session with Richardson's 12.083 easily holding up by nearly 0.2 seconds. The #4 team has to be looked at as the clear favorite heading into the main sessions.
1. #4 - William Richardson - 12.083 ($1,000 bonus for fastest time of the night)
2. #82 - Earl Ray Brooks - 12.189

Re: Derp '55 Series (Dirt '55 Mod)
Rockford Practice News & Notes
OOC: This is meant to be a spoof of the pre-race news and notes. If your drivers are involved in this, consider it an honor and not an attempt by me to steal your drivers
- Stiles Racing (#1 - Terrell Banks) & St. Creepersports (#95 - Tim St. Creeper & #96 - Johnny Yahto) did not make the trip to Rockford. Due to the fact that the Baltimore Raceway holds up to 43 cars, the teams will be given the opportunity to show up and race if they are able to do so. St. Creepersports is reportedly doing all they can to make sure they are at Baltimore, while we have heard nothing from the Stiles Racing camp.
- Jay Jianoran was stopped by police on his way out of the track after Rockford Pre-Qualifying. He was reportedly questioned about a stalker in the Rockford area. No arrests were made, and Jianoran was allowed to continue on his way out.
- Bobby Jay Smith Jr. will be spotting for his father, Bobby Jay Smith Sr. for this race. Junior was one of the slowest cars during the Pre-Qualifying sessions, and was also the slowest car to leave the Rockford Raceway complex after the session was done.
- A local fat guy was injured last night during Pre-Qualifying after trying to chase after Shinjuro Takoto. Apparently Takoto still doesn't grasp the concept of fat people eating everything in sight, as Takoto ate the fat guy's hot dog. No charges were filed, as the fat guy apparently got grease on his shirt and waddled home before he could file the necessary paperwork. Local bystanders defended Takoto's actions, claiming that Shinjuro mistook the fat guy's hot dog for his homemade chicken teriyaki.
