2013 Toyota/Save Mart 350 @ Sonoma - Sprint Cup
Last week at Michigan, Greg Biffle not only won his first race of the season, he gave Ford their 1000th win NASCAR. Points leader and 2010 Sonoma winner Jimmie Johnson had a cut tire in the closing stages of the race at finished outside the top 25.
Last year, Clint Bowyer surprisingly dominated the race while holding off a hard-charging Kurt Busch (2011 Sonoma winner) in the closing laps to prevail his first of 3 wins in the 2012 season. We he repeat or will someone knock him off? We'll find out Sunday.
Entry list coming soon.

Alex KENNEDY is running the #19 car.
We also have Ron Fellows, Victor Gonzalez Jr., Jacques Villeveuve, and for some reason Paulie Harraka.

Probably Villeneuve since Harraka won't be anywhere near in contention...or simply wrecks himself out of the race.f1fan12 wrote:Whose gonna wreck more cars, Villeneuve or Harraka?

Villeneuve will probably just wreck Danica then call it a day.
Re: 2013 Toyota/Save Mart 350 @ Sonoma - Sprint Cup
Villeneuve will cause wrecks while being competitive.
Harraka will cause wrecks while 5 laps down.

Wow, with JV and Fellows in the field the long awaited Canadian Invasion is upon us...in California. Us Ohioians though we would be their landing point.

Add another fail driver to the race -- Tomy Drissi will be in Joe Nemechek's #87.

A bit of a side note, but I love how every single time NASCAR visits a road course, every member of the media (inside and out of the sport) plays it out like it's some sort of insane, revolutionary idea. "LOOK THEY'RE GOING LEFT AND RIGHT HURR"
Because it's not like they've been doing it for every single year of competition since 1948 or anything.

Especially when they ran on so many in the early days.

Re: 2013 Toyota/Save Mart 350 @ Sonoma - Sprint Cup
I think I know something is wrong when Dale Jr is slower than a Front Row Motorsports car.
Re: 2013 Toyota/Save Mart 350 @ Sonoma - Sprint Cup
Qualifying for Sprint Cup is over, Jamie McMurray gets the pole.
Re: 2013 Toyota/Save Mart 350 @ Sonoma - Sprint Cup
Junior has never scored a top ten here, so I'm not all that surprised.BWardboy88 wrote:I think I know something is wrong when Dale Jr is slower than a Front Row Motorsports car.
And McMurray takes the pole from Ambrose... anyone see that coming?

Knew McMurray was good at Sonoma... but not THAT good. Awesome pole for Jamie!

Ambrose said something about losing power during his lap or something. I wasn't really paying much attention

Rain rain go away, arrive when the race is out of the way.
Re: 2013 Toyota/Save Mart 350 @ Sonoma - Sprint Cup
I can't even remember the last time there was rain in the forecast at Sonoma when NASCAR's there for the weekend.

What's the over/under on how many cars JV runs off the road today?
Re: 2013 Toyota/Save Mart 350 @ Sonoma - Sprint Cup
Probably none. So far this weekend he's been fairly clean.

Probably when they ran Sonoma in April, when it's at the tail end of California's wet season
