that especially, and in all my test races it works just fine, much slower classes are just a facet of class racing

Success for FIAM on debut
Having missed the first round of the World Sports Car Championship at Sebring, FIAM arrived at Road Atlanta with young hope. The 2 car operation debuted Thai motorsport prospect, Tang Worawoot, in the #75 car running in Class B alongside the anonymous character "Gekko", registered under the name of the lead character in Italian comic book "Il Piloto". It appeared a stroke of genius as the driver, sponsored by the comic book producer, spent the weekend signing autographs of the comic as well as doing a great job of promoting the popularity of FIAM. In the second car, also in Class B, ran the successful Spanish ex-GT driver, Antonio Jorquera, and young Stefano Agnello who had initially attempted to gain entry to the 2013 TM Lights season.

A difficult qualifying session saw the inexperienced Italians place 12th and 13th overall, and 6th and 7th of 9 in Class B, however a consistent race meant that the 2 cars began to move up the field as the opponents dropped out around them. With Jorquera in the car, the Spanish GT hero began to set blistering laps and moved further up the field while also keeping the car on track before handing over the car to Stefano Agnello for his first race stint. Stefano, who previously only had experience in the British and Italian national Formula Lenard championships, began setting nervous laps until finding his form and putting in average yet consistent laps to keep the car going. Meanwhile, Gekko had taken over from Worawoot while running toward the front however a mistake from the Italian 13 laps from the end sent the PTT/Thai Airways Inglesby into the wall, and out of the race.

Despite problems in the second car, FIAM continued running in 2nd overall and 1st in class with Agnello still at the wheel. And that would remain as Agnello crossed the line to win on FIAM's debut in prototype sportscar racing.

"It's incredible to win in front of a big crowd like this," told the young 20 year old, Stefano Agnello, "it's really weird to be on the podium and have so many people staring up at you. Really fantastic experience, and the fact that I was able to finish the race while 24 other more experienced drivers had difficulties."

Meanwhile, Tang Worawoot was visibly disappointed after realising a strong result was on the cards, "it was going OK, then I handed it over to Gekko. He told the team that the car was not behaving like he would want, and then he told us something happened and the car snapped on acceleration. It's impossible to stop the car in this instance, and it's a shame we could not finish the race."

FIAM's #15 is now 2nd in the championship with the #75 in 10th.
