First Fictional Logo Magpie12

So, in order to familiarize myself in the art of logo making, I decided to create a logo for a fictional brand I thought up a while ago. Basically, Magpie is a vehicle diagnostic device similar to CarMD that gives you an idea of what's wrong with your car without having to have a mechanic diagnose it. Thoughts? Suggestions?

EDIT: Updated logo with more visible (and more magpie-accurate) coloring.

Too Much White...try to make it transparent. Overall, it looks pretty good.

Transparency is the plan for the finished product, this is just to show what the logo looks like as is.

That purple is way too dark. It's lost against the black background and makes the letters impossible to see from a distance.

I'd either lighten the purple or add a white stroke (about a pixel or two) between the purple and the black.

Good point. Updated version added.
