Aarons 499 @ talledega
Will we see processional like we did at Daytona. Or will it be a wild race like last years finish?

Essentially this. I really hope they did something with the aero package and didn't just leave it like Daytona's.

Hopefully they did, if not the backlash will be bad 4 Nascar.

They probably won't do anything to the aero package. Earliest I would see it done would be Daytona in July, maybe Talladega in the Fall

Well if so, I'm still hoping that Talladega won't be as bad as the Daytona 500 or worse than it.
Re: Aarons 499 @ talledega
If I might make a suggestion, with three Talladega races in one weekend, I think it might be a good idea for have one topic for the race weekend.
On that note, this track still scares me. I love how people say they think someone will flip and then nothing happens. If anything, I just hope we get a more active race, if you will, than Daytona, and at the same time I hope we don't have to resort to multiple green-white-checkered finishes to finish the race. That way the end of the race drags on forever, and to me, it just seems silly.

I wonder how often people forget that he was in the same rookie class as Gordon (Kenny Wallace was also in that rookie class)?

Then again, when Gordon is in a Hendrick car off the bat, while Labonte was in a Bill Davis car at a time when Bill Davis Racing stunk, and Kenny Wallace was in a god knows what, that's quite easy to forget that was the case.

Re: Aarons 499 @ talledega
Honestly, the last solid rookie class I remember was in 2006, with a good amount of them, along with lots of talent. Specifically Hamlin, Bowyer, and Truex. 2008 had a decent rookie size, but none of them did anything of note, other than Smith's win at Talladega (I maintain he should have been credited the win of that race). I contribute much of this to the majority of drivers staying around longer. I dont think there were as many available rides coming in this season as there were rookies in say, 2004. Cause teams are sticking with veteran drivers. There are also less cars/teams as well.

I agree, though I think its a lot deeper then that.
Let me explain.
Who were the top Nationwide drivers from 99-02? Randy Lajoie, David Green, Bobby Hamilton Jr, Todd Bodine, Mike McLaughlin, Jeff Green. What do they all have in common? Except for Porkboy, they were all old and on there last legs. Thankfully the developmental drivers craze of 03-06 had started and who were the hot prospects? Well you did have Martin Truex Jr, Brain Vickers, Denny Hamlin...etc...etc..., but for everyone of those, you had a Tracy Hines, Paul Wolfe, Kyle Krissilof (Remember how bad he ended up?) Blake Feese, Burney Lamar, or Travis Geiselr. The driver development craze for the most part was a failure. And thus in the mid2000s when all those drivers went up to cup what happened? Well the old guard had pretty much gone by the wayside, the wave of new drivers had mostly failed, so they turned to the trusted cup drivers who were still unchecked in what or what not they could do. So they owners and sponsors just went with the "proven winner" and that is why I think we're int he mess we're in today.

Not watching the race (at work getting ready to clock in).
But I hear Hamlin didn't last long before turning the car over to Brian Vickers
I can get that if he had raced all the previous races, but it's clear that he won't be in the running for the Chase short of some epic winning streak.

Moves like that are the reason why Kyle Busch will never win a Cup Championship.
Re: Aarons 499 @ talledega
Stealin this from Facebook.
Its not Kyle's fault. The #5 wrecked him because Time Warner caused Kahne to lose connection and warped into the #18
