No Audio Device Installed...

Post by gwoodard41 on Sat Mar 23, 2013 12:56 pm

I turned my laptop on to find that my audio device wasn't working or installed. So my first guess was to check the device manager. To my surprise, the Intel HD Display Audio appears to be there. Then I did a system restore to revert back to the old drivers if windows decided to update drivers that weren't compatible. To my dismay, this didn't solve my issue.

I then tried to update the audio drivers. The Intel driver is supposedly the latest version but both the realtek and nvidia drivers, which were available, won't install... or start up past the administrator's permission prompt. I think that's where my main issue is... However, this doesn't solve what devices are supposedly missing, as there are no 'other devices' or any other devices with the little '?' or 'x' next to them.

I have a Toshiba Satellite e205-s1980
Part: PSE25U-00534 (I think there may be more digits that have faded away... though that might be correct)
Serial: Z0118216Q

Any help is appreciated!

Okay, found my USB Headset, audio appears to be working with it. The onboard (analog) isn't working... It's a temporary stop-gap measure for the time being.
