Nothing much here, just a change of make.

I know there's some slight issues with the paint schemes, those will be addressed later.

Holy bright renders, Batman. O_o

The 18 car is begging to have different colored numbers on the doors. White preferably... also, what's up with the gray on the left front? Is that the render?

The numbers on the doors are a little too big as well, maybe make them 97% of their current size?

The 11 car just looks odd to me. I think it's the use of red instead of orange and the lack of any black on the car, but it looks odd... That and Lynxe has a new logo that I have yet to post.

The Gibbs #11 just looks bad in general, and this is no exception... the number font (I know it's not a .TTF font...) makes anything look awkward. Like the 18 car, the numbers are huge, and should be shrunken down a bit. I would suggest using the Bullpen font or something else for the #11.

If you need a number font to fall back on, it's hard to go wrong with Helvetica (or Coolvetica if you can't get it), Arial Black (comes standard with PCs) and Impact (ditto what I said about Arial Black, except avoid using Impact for single digit numbers in most cases), or Babylon5/Serpentine (MasGrafx has it, but it's not hard to find).

The base also was clearly meant for the Pontiac mesh so it's not lined up well at the front at all.

The 20 car is easily the best one there, but the numbers should be slanted the other way. Slanting numbers backwards instead of forwards looks odd to me unless the paint scheme was designed to accommodate that (and I mean the old Mark Martin Valvoline paint scheme).

Pretty sure there's a Joe Gibbs fan that entered these cars... Razz

Plus those are completely the wrong templates...NRC changed them up this season. The Inglesby can be found at this link:

The gray on the 18 is the render. It's on every other car if you look. Also, I didn't even notice it wasn't on the right template. Shows how much I notice details, though I probably would have noticed when I put them in game. Laughing

Oh, didn't notice these responses.

At the time I rendered this (which was on the school computers), that setting was on it. I have no idea how to turn that off or adjust that.

Yep, the grey is the render. Number could definately use a new color. I do agree the numbers are kinda big (they seemed smaller when I put them on), I'll shrink those.

Didn't think too much of it before when I first made it, will consider black for that. As for the 11, I've used the number for the last few seasons as its really the only font I like. I'm familiar with Helvetica as I use that alot so I can look into that as well. Likewise, same for Arial Black, Impact and Serpentine.

Cynon wrote:The base also was clearly meant for the Pontiac mesh so it's not lined up well at the front at all.

Weird, because the template I got said to use the Ford Template. I think its just that because these came off (and literally, they were just ripped off Volpis) a template that uses the Pontiac, it doesn't line up here. Speaking of the Pontiac mesh, I cannot get that to work to save my damn life. All the other meshes show up, the Pontiac never does.

I think I actually slanted that one too far, but I usually don't like slanting the number forwards on the left side. It just looks off to me.

Thing is, this template came exactly out of that 2013 NRC Templates folder. I'm guessing I used the one that was there prior to the update.

They aren't meant to have contigs. Just the series logo on the decklid is all that is needed.

The 'update' was only to the Saar template because I uploaded the wrong one.

Well damn. I got so used to fitting series specific contigs for templates I use, I didn't even know that. Well I could remove them, but they would just look weird and empty.

Here are the cars with some improvements:

2013 Camyron Jackson Racing NRC cars GamestopInglesbyRender-1

2013 Camyron Jackson Racing NRC cars SonyInglesbyRender-1

2013 Camyron Jackson Racing NRC cars LynxeInglesbyRender-1

Gamestop car: Smaller numbers as well as color change to them, idea came from the Fleet Locate die-cast I have. Paint scheme on front is slightly better lined up.

Lynxe Car: Lines have been lined up, color has been changed around. Cynon mentioned their not being any black and I considered it, then I decided "why the hell not more black?" Very Happy

All cars have their numbers skewed abit less and shrunken as well as the series logo put on their deck lids. Also will be sending these in to Rykia_RKXK since these are redone.

Also, these are rendered on my student version of 3DS Max Smile Unfortunately before anyone brings it up, I still have no idea how to fix the lighting.

11: Looks pretty good. Not sure what the blue roof #s are for, but it does add some uniqueness to it. Best car of them all IMO.

18: I mainly see some number issues here. Sides look a bit big. I'd say put wither a gray or white outline in the roof. On the side, maybe change the color to gray and make the outline... well, something. It would be extremely difficult to make a number/outline combo that wouldn't blend in somewhere with the rest of the scheme. Several possibilities for change, but nice car as well.

20: It just looks... empty. To me, anyway. Just has that wavy thing called a scheme on it. Then again, Sony isn't the easiest sponsor to work on a car with. I'd take Coop's suggestion and tilt the #s the other way or my suggestion would be to just have them straight upward. No rotation or anything. I think that's a gray number outline, so I'll give you that.

Overall, pretty good paints, RACECAR. For some reason, you remind me alot of Trey Browning AKA FinishLine formerly on AARO...
