HRT being revived from the dead?
Reports are rampant that a group of Canadian and American investors called Scorpion racing group are pursuing the assests of HRT. Could this mean thhat we see a new team emerge for next season, or maybe even this coming one?

Oddly I am reminded of the farce that was known as Phoenix Finance F1 from 2002/03...

If this is news is any indication, then maybe I think it's possibly the team could be saved. It reminds me of when Honda went bust after the 2008 Season, and were then revived and renamed Brawn GP and allowed to race in the 2009 season just 3 or 2 weeks before the season started.

The difference is that Brawn GP had the technical and managerial genius of Ross Brawn; his cars have 8 constructors titles, 8 drivers titles. Hispania solely had an unfortunately abbreviated name, HRT stands for Hormone Replacement Treatment, i.e. menopause treatment.

Brawn also managed to find a loophole in the rules regarding the diffusers, this team is using what should have been HRT's 2013 car so it will suck just like last year.Milan655 wrote:BWardboy88 wrote:If this is news is any indication, then maybe I think it's possibly the team could be saved. I can't see this happening, but it would be hilarious if it did

Whatever happened to the one Serbian guy who was looking at starting a F1 team a while back? Surprised he hasn't jumped in on this yet

Bernie Ecclestone says its probably too late. http://formula-one.speedtv.com/article/f1-bernie-ecclestone-downplays-hrt-revival-plans/
Personally I don't think it would be good for them to appear this year. Take the time to develop a new, and hopefully competitive, car for 2014. I wonder if they will try to force North American drivers down F1's throat like USF1 and Cypher planned to do.
