Massive wreck in Race 32 at Phillip Island. Alex Premat went wide in one of the turn slide across the course and absolutely drilled James Courtney. So much damage to the right side that the roll-cage actually sustained damage. Guy is lucky to have walked away from this.

Craig Lowndes wins Race 33. Jamie Whincup wins Race 34. Two races left in the season, at the Sydney 500 in two weekends time. Only 4 drivers can mathematically win it.

I'll be at both days, but will spend most of the time in the V8 Utes paddock hanging with Wayne Wakefield. Whincupwinslol was fastest in Friday practice.

Although he did brush the wall (obvious battle scars when I was in the paddock today). Whoever was driving the #31 Aussie Racing Car is a lucky man after barrel rolling 8 & 3/4 times at turn 5 (yep Surprised )

Whincupwinslol has to finish top 21 to clinch the championship. To think 10 years ago he got fired for sucking, and he's about to win his 5th Championship.

I'm about to get up in 3 and a half hours. Formula Ford at 8am. Who the fuck races at 8am on a Sunday.

You're disappointing God.

Well then. I didn't see much of scruitineering, but I did see post-qualifying scruitineering, which was bad because they tried doing it indoors, where there was no room for 30 Utes to be parked next to each other.

Did you try a Red Ass?

I'm going to turn this thread into the Australian general.

The pole winners of the Bathurst 12 Hour will receive the Allan Simonsen trophy. Allan currently holds the lap record at Bathurst, set at this year's 12 Hour.

Brooke Tatnell won the Western Australian Sprintcar Championship at Bunbury Speedway

Erebus Motorsports is downgrading to two cars next year. Lee Holdsworth will remain, with a sponsor to be announced, and the second car will be either Maro Engle or Will Davison, with the latter most likely be the popular choice. Tim Slade is of course going to Walkinshaw Performace, replacing Russell Ingall.

Isn't Engel leaving V8 Supercars at the end of the year? At least, that's what I've heard.

That's probably what it is then.

6 drivers are in line for the #18. Current driver Alex Davison is most likely to stay, only other name I've heard is Steve Owen, I would presume two other options are Dale Wood and Ash Wlash, who finished 1-2 in the Dunlop Development Series this year.

2014 Team Chart.

Red Bull Racing - Holden
1. Jamie Whincup
888. Craig Lowndes

No change for this team other than Adrian Burgess leaving for HRT. Also Warren Luff will not return as Lowndes' endurance partner.

Holden Racing Team/Walkinshaw Performace - Holden (obviously)
2. Garth Tander
22. James Courtney
66. Tim Salde
222. Nick Percat

Tim Slade moves from Erebus, to replace retiring Russell Ingall. Nick Percat is now full-time in a 4th car, 3 years after winning the Bathurst 1000. SP Tools will be the main sponsor for the 2 and 22.

Team Hiflex? - Holden?
3. Tony D'Alberto?

Heard rumours this team may end up shutting down, haven't heard much about them apart from that.

Tekno Autosports - Holden
97. Shane Van Gisbergan

The team is stepping down to one car, as Johnathon Webb joins his family team on the technical side of things. Most likely will join SVG in the enduros.

Brad Jones Racing - Holden
8. Jason Bright
14. Fabian Coulthard
21. Dale Wood

Things have been quite from this garage. Pretty sure Bright and Coulthard will return. David Wall goes to DJR. Dale Wood replaces Wall.

Garry Rogers Motorsport - Volvo
33. Scott McLauglin
34. Robert Dahlgren

After 50 years, Garry Rogers will no longer be associated with Holden, as his team will pilot the smick looking Volvo S60's built by Polestar. McLauglin is set with the team. The team will also have a new sponsor, as Fujitsu is leaving for AFL. Swede Robert Dahlgren will debut with the team, and Valvoline Cummins will return to the team.

Lucas Dumbrell Motorsports - Holden
23 - Russell Ingall

Russell Ingall comes out of a 0 race retirement. LDM downgrades to one car, and changes the number.

Kelly Brother's Racing - Nissan
7. Todd Kelly
15. Rick Kelly
36. Michael Caruso
360. James Moffat

Nissan have publicly stated that entering V8's was a massive waste of money (rumoured to be $3 000 000) but will continue in V8's. Caruso recently re-signed with the team.

Erebus Motorsport - Mercedes-Benz
4. Lee Holdsworth
9. Will Davison

The team is dropping the 47, formerly driven by Tim Slade. Will Davison will join the team after a 3 year stint with FPR. Both cars will have new sponsors.

Dick Johnson Racing - Ford
12. Scott Pye.
17. David Wall.

Chaz Mostert is going to FPR. Scott Pye is replacing Mostert. David Wall is replacing Tim Blanchard. No word on Blanchard's status.

Ford Performance Racing - Ford (obviously, again)
5. Mark Winterbottom
6. Chaz Mostert
18. Jack Perkins
55. David Reynolds

Chaz Mostert, who is a FPR development driver, will replace Will Davison. Jack Perkins will replace Alex Davison. AD's status is unknown.

Steven Richards will now partner Craig Lowndes for the 2014 Pirtek Enduro Cup.

"If we can't beat them, but them" - Holden.

Don't look at me like that, I was merely the trainee following orders  Razz

And no, I didn't get to try a Red Ass, whatever it is...

Anyway, I've been hearing rumours that David Wall might be DJR bound, thanks to his connections at Wilson Security. In addition, I believe Jack Perkins is the favourite for the second Volvo seat, and has been for a while now.

Well then. I didn't see much of scruitineering, but I did see post-qualifying scruitineering, which was bad because they tried doing it indoors, where there was no room for 30 Utes to be parked next to each other.

Did you try a Red Ass?

Don't look at me like that, I was merely the trainee following orders  Razz

And no, I didn't get to try a Red Ass, whatever it is...

Anyway, I've been hearing rumours that David Wall might be DJR bound, thanks to his connections at Wilson Security. In addition, I believe Jack Perkins is the favourite for the second Volvo seat, and has been for a while now.
Red Ass Burritos, which thankfully don't live up to their name, like seriously, I had three over that weekend and not a problem, yet a Nutella Sandwich, which I've had for weeks gave me problems.

B-b-but what about 2018-19, 2021-23 champion Alex Premat?

V8 Supercars will go back to Channel 10 and will go live on Fox Sports starting in 2015.

Jack Perkins is now set to take over the #18, since Steve Owen is most likely replacing Steven Richards as Winterbottom's endurance partner.

I did too, but for memory then didn't show much on support categories.

From what I've read Channel 10 may not do the full season, but Fox Sports will show every second from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon.

Already seen negativity on this move. People think it's a ride-buyer, which is weird because I didn't think Jack had a big personal sponsor, and I doubt Larry would fund his son into a Ford. Maybe he's doing a Kimball/Reed and getting the ride with diabeetus.

It seems like an odd move to me too. It's almost as if FPR decided to nab Jacko at the last minute while he was still on the market, as he's one of the best free-agents without a ride next year.

The question now is what will Volvo do for the second seat?

With the 2014 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 hour only 1 week away, the entry list is nearly confirmed, just a few more drivers have to be named in some of the minor class cars.
View The Entry List Here

Can Erebus & Bernd Schneider make it 2 wins in a row, or will they get toppled by the likes of Audi, Ferrari, McLaren, Nissan, or the other Mercedes AMG?

There is only 25 cars on the grid for 2014. Easily the lowest in V8 Supercar History.

So, I would recommend watching highlights from this year's Bathurst 12 Hour, because it was an AMAZING race. My grandfather ranked it in his Top 10 races that he has ever been to. I still can't believe the top 4 were only separated by 10-15 seconds at the end of 12 hours

My guess is to experiment it & see whether or not it would work, which I think is pretty smart, since it has no effect on the championship
