Spoiler:
Murphy Steals 7th, Still Doesn't Drive for TDR

A satisfied A.J. Murphy came out of his #87 Poultry Shack car after a solid 7th place finish, which should help him stay in the title hunt.

"We just wanted to come out of here with a top 10 today, and we did exactly that. I'm really happy for this Accelerator Motorsports team and hopefully we can carry that momentum forward into the next race" Murphy said. He was then asked what Tom Delgado would think of his drive, and Murphy angrily replied "I don't drive for Tom Delgado, nor do I plan to in the future, he's an asshole! I drive for Accelerator Motorsports! Get it right! Geez..." before walking off disgusted with the reporter's apparent stupidity.

Olenick "Disappointed" With Watkins Glen

"Getting involved in two wrecks not of my own doing isn't exactly fun. I suppose I could have slowed down a bit more for the first one but I thought there was a hole. Oh well."

"That second wreck, where Nash went into the tires, whoever was behind me decided to make some banzai move when I got on the brakes and checked me into that crash. Not a fun weekend."

Spoiler:
McLaw Speaks on the Track Conditions and His Sixth Place

Aaron McLaw finished sixth place in a race filled with carnage. McLaw was actually involved in three wrecks and ended up still finishing all the way up in sixth place, but he still wasn't completely happy after the race. "People weren't driving with their heads. The track had no grip today and everyone should've realized that after the first two wrecks. Sure the track workers need to prepare the track better next time, but other drivers need to focus too. One messy day... though I'm happy to take a 6th place."

Lester dejected after crashing in home race

After climbing out of his #26 Cialis Bolden to receive an interview for a local news station, the heartbreak and disappointment on Casey Lester's face was very evident.

--------

I: Casey, after a bit of a shaky start, you got caught up in that last wreck with Reverend Joe Burns and now you are out of the race. Can't be feeling too good about that.

C: Well, I don't think I'd be feeling fine and dandy either. It just... it really sucks for all of the guys on our team and our sponsors. I live only 20 something minutes, maybe less, from this track and I know mom and dad are watching. Hey, I'm out of the race and I'll see you soon. But, uh... just a real bummer. I thought maybe if people had issues in the bus stop like they had all week in the race, maybe I could pick up a few spots and geta good finish for the home crowd, but I was scared something like what Rev. Burns did was gonna happen and I really hoped I could've turned some heads today. I mean, it may not seem this way, but I love this track half to death. Guess I need some more practice here or something.

I: Now you said that other drivers were having issues in the bus stop all weekend long, but you also said that Rev. Burns did that to you. Would you consider it a racing incident or just over-the-top driving?

C: Uh, from the camera angle, I'm really not sure. And I guess I wasn't clear about what I was saying before. Don't worry, I always do that. But- *laughs* Anyway, it looked like he slid wide, but it was like he thought he was driving on the racing surface, was in the grass by about 5 feet and turned into the tires there. I really didn't see him coming at all, but it's just a shame for everyone back at the shop and, uh, me and Aaron will move onto next week.

I: Casey Lester clearly disappointed after crashing out of his home race.

---------

Lester now sits 26th in the driver's standings, with this most recent setback basically eliminating him from championship contention.

Bill Calhoun retired from the race at Watkins Glen very early, finishing 31st.

"wasn't really expecting much today, i'm not really a road racer. still dissapointed that we got a wrecked race car though."

Solid Run Ends With Nash Binned in the Tires at Watkins Glen

Thomas Nash and his #7 Quaker State Bolden Chaser survived much of the carnage that was the running of the 2012 ASCC at the Glen at the Watkins Glen International circuit in New York. Key word: much. Nash had another abysmal road course qualifying effort of 29th, slotting him deep in the field.

However, Nash was able to stay out of trouble throughout the early portion of the race. That was, until the #01 Tri-Oval Racing Saar of Bobby Miller, Jr. lost control of his car at the bus stop chicane on lap 13. Miller hit the inside wall and leaped back out into traffic, right in front of Nash. With nowhere to go, Nash collided heavily into the back end of Miller, Jr. The collision saw Nash go slightly airborne and into the the tire barriers on the opposite side of the track. Nash's car dug into the tire barriers, with the end result of Nash's back end standing upwards in the air.

The crash relegated Nash a 24th place finish, after being in the top-10 earlier in the race.

"First off, I'm fine. Maybe a bruise or two on my legs, but I'm fine. Second off, I want to congratulate the Tri-Oval guys for single-handedly decimating half of the field out there. Nice job. What the ASSC officials are doing, I have no freaking clue. [Phil] Harding was surely going to kill someone out there. Whatever, we'll go out to Kentucky, where are intermediate program has been pretty good so far this season. Can't wait to get back onto some more normal ovals," said Nash before leaving the track.

With a good day gone bad, Nash still sits deep in the points. 28th to be exact, 95 points behind points leader Garth McCallister, Jr.
