Eurospeedway GP Qualifying
Pole Qualifying:
ROW 1
#02 Cassandra Collins 42.801
#42 Akira Tsukari 42.880
ROW 2
#5 Tanya Carter 42.906
#91 Ben Atkins 42.909
ROW 3
#6 Harriet Wallace 42.928
#87 Harold Smith 42.941 ()
STS do the best of any team in Pole Quals, with Tanya Carter and Harriet Wallace getting in and Sara Crims nearly making it in. Tommi Arjanien was also due to make it, then Tsukari bumped him out, sadly, with only a minute to go. Him and Jack Parker missed by around a hundredth of a second. Michelle Dubout nearly shocked the world too, by only being a few hundredths off too.

Lap 1 - Wreck. Jacob Eichholtz turned Ryan Griffin sending him and Daniel Miller into the wall. Other than that, only another Daniel Miller spin was anything of note in this race, apart from the Eichholtz's going at it for 2nd while Arjanien ran away with the win.

Qualifier 2
This was a wreckfest. Ryan Matthews spun early on, but recovered to make it into the field, mainly due to the Nelson's wrecking each other. Like father, like son. Robert Nelson actually ended up on his roof in the accident, and went out of the race. There was a big moment at the end with Matt Tremblay on the 1 lap shootout, and he ended up getting knocked around (it was self inflicted), and he missed out on a transfer spot, while Ike Durbin, who he tried to wreck, made it in quite easily. Anto Markov has Spectre Racing smiling though, as he passes Jack Parker on the last lap to win.

Qualifier 3
A huge crash in turn 3 on the first lap led to a few surprises in this heat. The wreck wasn't pretty, after several cars get turned out of turn 2, and hammer into the side of other cars. The reason I don't know who they are was because I spent most of my time focusing on Kellan Rogers and Dan Morton, when both flipped spectacularly in turn 3, with Rogers rolling over about 7 times, and Morton about three times. Both would be okay, but done. Other than that, it led to a clean race with Stephan Halveri giving me a nice surprise and dominating his heat.

Forgot to mention, no driver swaps will be allowed. I think people who got in deserve to be in.

Well 1 out of 3 ain't bad. Why of all drivers does Eichholtz have to be the one my driver makes contact with?

JINX Racing out of 2013 Euro GP before it began
(OOC-well that sucks. No worries. I don't remember the schedule though. Link me?)
2013 did not quite start out the way JINX and the team. After Arriving in Germany for the race, customs decided to not allow the big group of tourists through. Customs Officials claimed improper documentation for the delay and inspection.
"They decided to inspect everything we had with us. Customs said we didn't have the proper documentation. That and the fact that somehow I ended up on Germany's No Fly and Most Wanted Lists. David Terry was quite amusing. Watching the 6'5" giant trying to not scare officials was one of the best travel stories ever. Then we got lost trying to get to the track. 2013 has already started out rough. Hopefully, Dash Cup officials will see this and allow us to get a different entry in 2013 for the missed one here. Have fun and race hard."

Empire Racing drops from Euro GP Entry List
(OOC-I came up with this for her. She gets angry. LoL.)
Empire Racing has already scratched off from the entry list of the Euro GP. Sources from within the organization say that the team did not feel 100% confident in the car and thought it best to wait another week to finish preparing the cars for the 2013 season.
"Better to enter the race with a capable car than to enter unsure of what is coming or knowing the goal was not reached. We have spoken to the Dash Cup Officials who will allow us to run a diferent race in place of this one to ensure fairness. We here at Empire Inc. want to thank the Officials in thier understanding." - Empire Board of Directors from press conference.

There were nervous expressions worn in the Westockin camp today at the Eurospeedway GP Qualifiers. Andrew O'Reilly in his newly painted Barry's Tea/DiscoverIreland STS squeaked his way into the main event, finishing 10th in Qualifier #1, 2 spots ahead of the transfer spot.
"I hope my chaps still have their fingernails after that one! Was getting nervous there for a second when I started falling back, but that's the nature of these big tracks. I was worried about all of these one-offs here, but I think being a full-time team gave us more of an advantage. Really fun out there, and I'm so glad to get back into a car. The STS handles a bit different to me, but there are actually a great deal of guys working on it. They are a nice and respectful company, no wonder they were always competitive with us last year when I raced my old car (Speidel). Anyway, I hope we can work out a few bugs and bring a race winning car. Getting my first full season under my belt is going to be really challenging and exciting. It's great to see the morale so high here in the Westockin camp. Can't wait for race day!" exclaimed the usually talkative Irishman.
O'Reilly started 4th in his qualifier.

Matthews makes emotional return to the track in Eurospeedway qualifier
The most anticipated return to the race track could easily have been one of the Dash Cup regulars.
Or one of the rookies.
As the haulers entered the Eurospeedway paddock, one in particular drew the most attention by its simplicity: a plain black one with Connecticut registration plates.
The hauler belonged to Ryan Matthews, who was making his first return to racing since the tragic death of his wife Tiffany at Texas this past November.
Though he didn't time into the field, he still had a puncher's chance to make the main race by qualifying in. But as fate would have it, he would start shotgun on the field in Race Two.
"I thought I was finished after that spin," he said. "Fortunately we were able to take advantage of the Nelsons doing what they do and made it into the show. I must have had a guardian angel."
He also reflected on the reception he's gotten since his arrival in Germany.
"It's good to be back out here," he said. "A number of drivers and fans have come by this weekend to say hello and express their condolences. It's been overwhelming."
He hung around to watch sister-in-law Kellan Rogers in Race Three, but had a scary moment as she wrecked in Turn 3, doing several rolls in the process.
"My heart stopped seeing Kellan's wreck," he said. "I first thought, 'Oh no, not again.' Fortunately she walked away and was OK...it's a testament to how well these cars are built. Or maybe she was watching over her little sister..."

Dougly makes return to Dash Cup... and doesn't kill anyone in the process of doing so. Ambercroft however flips for joy... I mean flips out of her way of the main race...

Both Arrow Dynamic's Cars don't Made the Race
Both, Velmier Jankovic and rookie Derivatious Tomzak failed to qualify for the Eurospeedway GP. Team owner and director of European Operations, Michael Proarbos stated, "Firstly, I apologize for my English, I am still learning language. This is first, real go at Dash Cup Series. We ran part time last year, with pretty crummy result. With assets we have we can do better this year. But two cars are difficult to control at one weekend, So both suffered." He then walked off and congratulated his two drivers for a fantastic showing.

I think you accidentally your grammar.
Stanton Makes Race; Enthusiastic About New Season
Stanton's first season in the Dash Cup last year was considered by many to be extremely solid, but it was not without it's faults. From fuel issues to spins to inconsistent equipment, poor Willard seemed to be in a continuous struggle with his car; however, with his eight place finish in his Eurospeedway qualifying race ensuring him a spot on the grid, Stanton is revved up and ready to go.
"A great way to start the season, don't you think?" he said to reporters, "Last year was an adjustment year, and all things considered, I think it went extremely well. This year, we're giving it our all. I've got a great team, a great car, and some great sponsors. We're after that cup."

Ecurie Nationale Belge - all over on the first day
For their first Dash Cup event, ENB were hoping to make the grid for the main race, in order to not only impress the racing world, but also to attract more Belgian spectators for the following races of the season.
This plan was put on hold as Thomas De Bock and Aurélien Moll, both in the same qualifying race, failed to make the cut. After qualifying in twelfth and eighteenth positions, the two rookies ended the race sixteenth and seventeenth out of 32, while only the top twelve were allowed through.
With the second event being at the Norisring, the slow and twisty nature of the circuit should benefit the road-racers.
