My thoughts on this: More of the same. I'm assuming he's bringing a bag of money. Enjoy your 0 points again, Caterham

I disagree. Watching him with GP2 last year, he was very quick, very consistent and very intelligent. He's experienced as well, being 27 and having 4 years of experience in GP2 with no lower than a 7th place championship position is pretty impressive, just didn't find the right sponsorship until this year.

Nothing the driver can do TBH, the car just isn't good enough to score points unless there's a lot of attrition. Never said he wasn't a bad signing, just said that he brought a bag of money.
Now that I've said that, yfw Caterham gets points in at least one of the first six races

Gosh. I was sort of hoping Caterham would have scored at least a point or two so far in their F1 career (formerly named Lotus 2010-2011), and well you can see that no matter what drivers they sign whether good or bad, they may never get a single point unless a miracle happens.

In what was the weakest GP2 field ever. On paper, van der Garde should've walked that one. His record going into 2012 was far better than Valsecchi and Razia's, and yet both were far more consistent with their results, leaving him some 80 points adrift. He's been around the F1 paddock for a while as well; first I heard of him was back around 2007 when he was Spyker's reserve/third driver. Though that means he does probably have some F1 experience, I find it suspicious that it's been that long and no-one bothered to give him a shot. Then again, he was Pic's GP2 teammate in 2011, and they were pretty evenly matched, so maybe he could match him again. I wouldn't hold my breath though.
