Hamilton to Mercedes in 2013?
Considering that Eddie Jordan nailed Schumi coming back with Mercedes, I don't think this is too far fetched:

This is the most interesting sentence in the article to me, though, a quote from EJ:
"[Simon] Fuller is trying to position Hamilton as a major global star, like [David] Beckham, and Mercedes is a much bigger global brand than McLaren."
Hamilton, a global star on the level of Beckham, who's also well-known in the US? I don't think so.

Why would anyone go to Mercedes? It's like Toyota except for the one time in China that Mercedes got their shit together and you know, won a race.
Although it would open up a slot at McLaren for a young guy.

Hearing di Resta would be the favorite if such a thing happens.

If this actually happens then why should I stop supporting McLaren? I'd rather Hamilton sign a new contract with McLaren. If I had to pick any other German driver to take over Schumacher's seat apart from Vettel, I'd choose Nico Hulkenberg.

I don't think Hamilton wants to sign a new contract, considering what he did at Spa: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19456707
Then, where will he go after Mclaren? Ferrari have a free seat, but Alonso will probably block his entry and Red Bull doesn't have a free seat (unless Vettel chooses Ferrari for whatever reason). Only Mercedes is left available, if Schumacher does decide to retire.

Schumacher will wait another year, unless he wins a race. Then he will call it quits. I don't put alot of stock into Hamilton leaving McLaren. If he does, I would be suprised if he gets a Ferrari. I don't think Mercedes will have a big opening, unless Rosberg goes to Ferrari. Which I really doubt. I think Hamilton is kinda screwed if he leaves McLaren, Lotus maybe? Sauber?

I'd sooner go to Williams or Lotus than Mercedes, but whatever. I think this is mostly Hamilton trying to get a better deal out of McLaren, to be honest. Though I suppose it will open up a competitive seat for a new guy, hopefully Kobayashi because I don't think Hulkenberg or di Resta are complete packages. At least, not yet.

The thing is though, if he Races for Mercedes it just means he won't be going for the title. That team may have the cars to win races but not championships.

I hope not. If it is, it really says what kind of a guy he is; he earns $21,000,000 per year, the second most of anyone in Formula 1.

Re: Hamilton to Mercedes in 2013?
I'd love to see Hamilton leave. He'd be where he belongs in a Mercedes... 8th place getting 1 or 2 points every week
I'd also love to see Di Resta in a McLaren, because I think he's the next big talent. I'd like to think so anyway.

I think McLaren have already made it clear that he's gonna have to take a pay cut to stay there.

I think we would see how really good he is if he's put in a Mercedes, you have to remember he never drove for a slower team as he was dropped in a Mclaren at the start of his f1 career.

You know he is that kind of driver who loves winning, but gets upset whenever he goes out of a race due to either himself or his car. I mean it's Lewis' decision where he wants to be next year, either with McLaren, a different team or maybe NOT EVEN IN F1 NEXT YEAR!
