Re: Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500 - Sprint Cup
I see what you mean by Timmy Hill:
Anyway, I hope this race won't be as boring as many races have been this season, because, well it's Talladega for a start, all cars bunched together with the big one just around the corner, hopefully the race should be a more entertaining race to watch.

Re: Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500 - Sprint Cup
If they run the same package they did in the other races this year, Biffle and Kenseth are going to be strong. But they haven't been able to close the deal with the exception of the 500 so should be your typical don't know the winner till the last lap.

Re: Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500 - Sprint Cup
All I can hope for is that this race must be a good one, the previous finish at Talladega was not very exciting. At least there were 2 big ones though, but I'll be very disappointed if this race is not good.

Or unless some stupid guy decides to take out 3/4 of the field including himself wouldn't sound like fun to me.

Crashes make races exciting when they happen at just the right time to throw a kink in everyone's strategies. I have no problem with hoping for caution periods, because that can be pretty exciting. Or pretty dull. I personally thought all the "caution 10 laps from the end every week" nonsense was stupid and ruined races more often than it helped them.Alta wrote:Wrecks don't make racing...BWardboy88 wrote:All I can hope for is that this race must be a good one, the previous finish at Talladega was not very exciting. When did they stop throwing phantom cautions?

...Racing makes Races.
but occasional wrecks make races better. just to liven it up.
I know, but the fans want real racing to like 3-Wide, 4-Wide or even 5-Wide etc.

I felt like crying while I watched qualifying. Why? Because they had a FOX Sports logo above the SPEED logo.

I do like the look of the starting line up, especially with where Trevor Bayne and Michael Waltrip are starting.
Re: Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500 - Sprint Cup
Michael Waltrip starting 11th means a 32 car wreck on lap 1. Him, and everyone behind him.

I actually like Michael Waltrip, I mean what could he do to cause a whole-field wreck on Lap 1?

I don't understand all the hate for Michal Waltrip. There isnt anything left of his career to hate. If anything it should just be an ocean of bitter disappointment

He spent 20 years in a ride that belonged to a better driver. That, and he's been such a massive tool that an ACE hardware store couldn't contain him.
In other words, if his last name wasn't Waltrip he wouldn't have lasted in NASCAR past 1991.

That's not the point. I was referring to the empty seats. Crowd's getting smaller every year.

There are also tarps over the seats towards turn 1. Are the backstretch seats empty or tarped, too?RealRacer4 wrote:BWardboy88 wrote:RealRacer4 wrote:[sarcasm]Wow. Nice crowd.[/sarcasm]

EDIT: Tarps towards turn 4, as well. Backstretch is not.
