Daytona 250 Thread (RROL) Round 1
The opening race for the RROL, The Daytona 250, will be one of three races to not be in a double header form. RROL COO, Mark Hamilton was quick to state, "It was not a car count issue. We had kept the original RROL name, and we really thought two 50 lap races wouldn't match with the others, and with the decreased car count. We decided to go ahead with only 1, 100 lap race." This could really throw a kink into the points, because this race will have a larger field than what the field will deal with for the majority of the season. However Mark Hamilton did confirm that when the series hits Round 2 of Las Vegas, the field will be split into the double header format.

Pre Race headlines
The only noteworthy thing is that the Lacoyia's have a huge advantage on the Superspeedways. Could this lead to protest from other manufactures.

It's Bradley Carlisle btw...

You and Ben posted right when I deleted the video and was finished editing. Luckily there were only 3 spelling mistakes. The music issue was caused by a clip which didn't want to render. So I deleted it and the music wasn't timed correctly because of it.

- Durbin Proud of 1-2 Finish; Surprised with Results
After a 1-2 finish for M&D Motorsports, team co-owner Ike Durbin was overwhelmed with joy and astonished by the results at the same time. Here is what he had to say. "I can't believe it. I just can't believe it! I'm so proud of Mikey and Jake. They drove their butts off. We expected to have decent cars, but we don't focus on Superspeedways. I didn't expect a win, let alone a 1-2 finish! Lycoia must have come up with some amazing cars, and paired with two, well really five, great drivers behind the wheels of them, it ended great. Everyone in the Lycoia family should be proud."
This win marks M&D Motorsports' first every victory as a team together. It also marks Ike Durbin's first victory in the RROL as an owner or a driver.

- Spoiler:
- More Jr. scores 1st career stock car win in RROL season opener; Jim More ecstatic with M&D 1-2
Going into the Daytona 250, the talk in the garage area was that the Lycoias were the cars to contender with. Through the event, two Lycoias stood out not just in there performance but with their car schemes as well. Those cars were the M&D Motorsports cars.
With 2 laps to go, Michael More Jr., starting his first full season in the series led his teammate. More Jr. using a lap car was able to pull out just far enough to edge his teammate Jake Wareru (sp?) at the finish giving M&D Motorsports a 1-2 finish in the team's debut race.
Afterword an overjoyed, More Jr. who is also known by friends and family as "Mikey", celebrated with Wareru and team owners Jim More and Ike Durbin in victory lane.
"What can I say? We wanted to come out the box strong and Lycoia made sure they gave us good cars coming down here. This team came to Daytona with a mission, and we succeed in that mission," More Jr. said in his victory interview. "I just can't believe that we've won Daytona. This track has such a history for this series, and it makes me proud to see my name on this winners trophy."
Jim More, co-owner of M&D, had this to say about his team's Daytona performance:
"Well, I am surprised that it happened so fast, but we [More and Durbin] put this team together with the purpose of getting the job done on track and we did that tonight. I know Mikey is happy. And to have his dad [Michael More Sr.] here as well, this is an awesome moment."

Ok that wasn't a bad race, but that video needs a LOT of work. :/
1.) Yellow Text! I couldn;'t read half the things being said cause of white Text on Whit Background.
2.) Put the text at the bottom.
3.) Check for Typos
4.) un-rate the unrated cars (A rating of streight 40-60 would have worked better.
This should help you a lot more with your videos.

The world is coming to an end, I actually agree with Dave.

It could use a lot of work. Like actual commentary. I paused the video, left the room to get a drink, came back and forgot I was playing a video...
Good start though.

With driver Henrietta LaVerne scoring the first point for the team in RROL Elite Series history, team owner Joe Olenick stated that he felt the team's race was "okay".
"Obviously, we're glad we got at least one point, but I feel like we could have done better. I know Henrietta and Jess (Zander) both had competitive cars, but those Lycoias were tough tonight"

I'm jumping on the "Needs work" bandwagon.
to be honest I never thought this league would of got off the ground....
The spelling and grammar are the main things that need worked on, ie: Loosed, Lacoyia, and a few others.

While I saw some 'Rookie' mistakes, I was impressed at a first attempt.
1. Don't rush the video or uploading it. You don't have to bend to the will of the 'I wanna see it' crowd. The series is controlled by you, Rykia, and Alpinepossom.
2. Put the video in your first post for every race thread, just hit the edit button and place the race link there. Then the other links (results/points/etc) under it.
3. As part of no rushing, spell check!
4. I would personally check the car ratings to make sure they comply with the ratings system.
5. They don't call it Lycoia Lightning for nothing ladies and gentlemen

Josh Marshall instead of John. I honestly had a good laugh at that error & while spelling errors aren't good, as long as you can pronounce it & the sentence makes sense, it's not too bad

- Spoiler:
- Mixed bag for Matthews Motorsports in RROL debut:
A lot of questions hung over the Matthews Motorsports teams as the curtain rose on the 2012 RROL Elite Series season. How would new drivers Kellan Rogers and Billy Ray Smith-Thompson fare? How would the new Matthews M12 perform in its first real test?
So far, the answers look promising.
Though Smith-Thompson was the only Matthews driver to finish in the top 12, both he and Rogers kept their cars clean and out of trouble.
"How 'bout that?" Smith-Thompson said after the race. "That car was on rails, y'all. Too bad we couldn't have gotten better, but hey, that's racin'. We'll get 'em next time. Glad you got to talk to me."
Rogers wasn't as upbeat.
"I should've gotten more than what I did," she said. "The car was great, and on that last stop I was up there with the leaders, but I just couldn't hold onto the pack. But for my first trip on a superspeedway, I thought I did pretty well."

- And a Mixed Day For Big Mac Racing
Today in the RROL opener at Daytona, Jacob Mac was in contention to win, but finished 11th. (still a strong run) However his teammate, Sara Gallagher, lost the pack and soon lost an engine. Sara told us, "Something happened with the turbocharger. I guess that explains why the car felt awkward all night long." Mac was excited and told us, "Yeah, the car was great. We just got shuffled at the end due to the characteristics of Super Speedway racing. This run proves we can run up front."

You've got a pretty good voice for color analysis, if you paired up with someone to do the lap by lap, maybe write bullet points of what you were going to say and going off that you could be one half of a pretty good duo.
