Samsung Mobile 500 - Sprint Cup Series
After the wild end to Martinsville and an Easter weekend break, the Sprint Cup Series heads down to the Texas Motor Speedway for some cookie-cutter action! Can Stewart-Haas Racing snatch up their 4th win in the early part of the season, will Hendrick score his 200th NASCAR win, or will Roush continue to dominate the 1.5 mile tracks?

Question, is this a Night race?

Re: Samsung Mobile 500 - Sprint Cup Series
Texas, not interested even if it is a night race. Sorry Bboy, I lol'd at "cookie cutter action"
- Spoiler:
- Boring ass race, stands half empty, blah blah blah, McDowell start n parks if he doesent kill himself, Roush driver wins, typical Texas snoozer

Bayne finishes 17th for the fourth Texas race in a row, I'm calling it.

Bayne wins and Roush still puts Stenhouse over him. I'm a wizard.navycook75 wrote:Bayne finishes 17th for the fourth Texas race in a row, I'm calling it.

right, because winning a Nationwide championship when most of the season was dominated by cup guys makes you better....Alta wrote:Bayne wins and Roush still puts Stenhouse over him. I'm a wizard.navycook75 wrote:Bayne finishes 17th for the fourth Texas race in a row, I'm calling it.

Stenhouse went from crashing every other week to winning they championship in one year and the way Roush was last year you can't really argue it wasn't equipment. You got things like, Edwards nearly winning the championship and being very consistent (Hell if it weren't for Tony's late year rampage Edwards would've ran away with it), Ragan won a race, (lolss) Bayne looked strong, Kenseth was relevant in more races then his entire 2010 season. Only driver who really sucked was Biffle, and Biffle is just been being his typically self....Just....There.
The way it's looking, Roush is looking fast again in 2012 with Kenseth being the main focus in cup and Stenhouse once again gets top priority over a driver who has some actual talent (Bayne pulled his weight back when he drove the MWR car when the team obviously didn't care since they were going away anywhere and gas been strong in the Wood Brothers car only to disappear by the end of the race which is quite sad to say the least.)
You get a year where Stenhouse is not the main/2nd priority and he'll flop as bad as he did in 2010.

Post fixed. More of less that was just the tl;dr opinion of Stenhouse.navycook75 wrote:that was included with the sarcasmAlta wrote:Whatever. Re: Samsung Mobile 500 - Sprint Cup Series
The championship and his competitiveness in Nationwide is very temporary. hell, look at past champions in the Nationwide series (Buschwackers don't count), only one driver managed to win both Cup and Nationwide/Busch championships. Hell, if Elliott Sadler didn't crash in Phoenix last year and finished decent in Homestead, Stenhouse won't have a championship at all.Alta wrote:navycook75 wrote:right, because winning a Nationwide championship when most of the season was dominated by cup guys makes you better....Alta wrote:Bayne wins and Roush still puts Stenhouse over him. Actually, Biffle had good speed last year, but both he and the team couldn't put a race together all year. If they didn't adjust themselves out of contention, Biffle would just speed on pit road and knock them out anyway.
Anyway, on the subject of the race, I'm not expecting a good one. Texas isn't a great track at the best of times, and at night, it'll be downright horrid.

That's kind of what i meant, he was kind of there at some points in the season but would disappear when it came down to it.Alta wrote:navycook75 wrote: Only driver who really sucked was Biffle, and Biffle is just been being his typically self....Just....There.

They aren't. But it's the only thing I can watch cause there is nothing else good on and I haven't missed a race since the middle part of the 2010 season.

You no the race has been craptastic when the most interesting thing to happen is Juan Pablo mOntoya killing a water bottle.

I am half- watching this race. I took a break to watch the new DBZ Abridged Episode, and came back to see that the race was still boring.

That is true.
Good win for Greg though. Great burnout too.

Well, I guess Greg's redeemed himself a little bit from Daytona.

Mark 3rd. Highlight of the race right there.
Anyone notice how it's pretty much the same top 10 every week.

Best shot for them is Dega or Charlotte. Otherwise, probably not.
Highlight of the race was watching that Gatorade bottle explode when Montoya hit it.

Actually it's Jacques Debris. And he did appear a few times, NASCAR just didn't throw a caution. Kevin Harvick found an interesting piece of debris on his grille after the race. A $100 bill. His car chief kept it.
Re: Samsung Mobile 500 - Sprint Cup Series
I'm already predicting that the next race at Kansas won't be any better.

The only race of the next 4 that's worth a damn is Talladega.

If only Dale Jr can break his winless streak, thats really the only race he can do that.
Re: Samsung Mobile 500 - Sprint Cup Series
As i said on Alta's Facebook, only good thing about that race was Jimmie Johnson choking. Also for those complaining about no caution for Johnson hitting the wall, I think NASCAR is as tired of him winning as we are.
Also I don't think Kvapil and Speed Start and Parked, I think those were legit problems.

Typical Texas garbage, so I put the dishes away and vacuumed. Called it with a Roush driver winning, lul. Sad when F1 was more exiting, haha

Yes, but better than it was a few years ago. 2011 was the best season since '04, IMO.

The Daytona 500 was actually quite entertaining, mostly for Juan Pablo Montoya's accident with the Jet Dryer, and 2 Big Ones struck during the race.
