By universally he means himself.Mother of Invention wrote:antknee wrote:Just curious...what would you guys consider an exciting race?
I think we universally agreed Bristol was a good race.
Bristol....It was the best race they can put with the terrible progressive banking
Go back and watch all three of the first F1 races. That's the definition of amazing racing.

Well, I would disagree with the F1 comment, but this race wasn't that good. But, that being said a race doesn't have to be a caution fest to be good.
To ask your question ant, a good race to me is one that keeps my attention. A good side-by-side battle on the track even if it isn't for the lead would be one of the qualities.

You pretty much confirmed to me that you haven't watched one F1 race this season.day500champ1 wrote:PackerMan71 wrote:antknee wrote:Just curious...what would you guys consider an exciting race?

... Do you even watch F1? You sound like you just base your opinion on the stereotypes that people around you give off. There was a bunch of side by side action in the F1 race from 2nd to 11th so you should have loved that, but you don't give it a chance, so you wouldn't know.

Formula 1 in a nutshell - avoid everybody first 3 laps, gain 20 second lead over guy behind you. cruise on the easy win.RealRacer4 wrote:antknee wrote:Just curious...what would you guys consider an exciting race?

Didn't I answer this one already Alta? If not, I don't because it doesn't keep my attention. Plus I don't feel like getting saying up till 3 or 4 in the morning to watch. I may watch the one in Texas when that one is run because the start time will be more reasonable. Why does it matter that I don't like F1?

Your judging how F1 has been this year when you haven't even watched it. Don't judge stuff when you obviously don't care about it.day500champ1 wrote:Alta wrote:You pretty much confirmed to me that you haven't watched one F1 race this season.day500champ1 wrote:PackerMan71 wrote:antknee wrote:Just curious...what would you guys consider an exciting race?

got another to that:
Whenever Dale Earnhardt Jr can finally break his winless streak, hopefully that should happen within the next couple of races but might most likely happen at Talladega.
Re: Samsung Mobile 500 - Sprint Cup Series
@day500champ1 and conrail1990 - You guys OBVIOUSLY didn't see the Chinese Grand Prix last night. If you did, you would've jizzed in your pants as good as that race was.
Your loss, I suppose.

I think Alta's reaction video from that backs that up.

It doesn't really matter if the guy in front sprinted out to a 25 second lead, it's the racing back in 2nd behind.

Everyone's listing actual races...i'm asking specifically what made those races exciting to you...NASCAR, F1, or otherwise.

I think, in my opinion, there's a lot of components that make a good race. For starters, not really looking for really long green flag runs. Yesterday's 200+ lap run was mostly boring with everyone following one car, which leads me into my next point, a good race needs lots of passing, and I'm not just talking about 2-3 30 lap segments of decent passing, I'm talking about going for every single spot as long you can. Nonstop follow the leader racing, where one guy leads and there's a pass for the lead maybe once every 80-100 laps just isn't exciting. Just my opinion though.
